Chapter 159 I want to eat spicy crayfish

Chapter 159 Craving Spicy Crayfish

Song Xu stroked his chin. "It might be Brother Yunzhou."

"Lu Yunzhou?" Lin Xi was somewhat surprised. "What's he doing here? Didn't you just meet yesterday?"

Song Xu shrugged; he didn't know either. "I'll go open the door."

Lin Xi followed behind Song Xu. Song Xu opened the door, and sure enough, Lu Yunzhou was standing there.

He was carrying a large bag, and when he saw Lin Xi behind Song Xu, he smiled and asked, "Lin Xi, can you make spicy crayfish?"

"Huh?" Lin Xi was taken aback by the question. She was nervous at first, but Lu Yunzhou's question made her feel a little flustered. She nodded, "I do know how, but we don't have any crayfish at home."

“I happen to have some,” Lu Yunzhou handed the large bag to Song Xu. “I suddenly felt like eating something spicy today, and after thinking about it, Lin Xi is the only one who can accompany me to eat the super spicy stuff.”

Song Xu opened the bag and saw it was full of crayfish. "Brother Yunzhou, where did you get these?"

Lu Yunzhou wasn't the type of man who would go to the market to buy groceries, which made Song Xu wonder.

“I had someone buy it, and it’s all cleaned up, so we can just cook it,” Lu Yunzhou said, his gaze fixed on Lin Xi. “Lin Xi, if you don’t want to cook, I can call a chef over.”

"No need, I can do it." Lin Xi took the bag from Song Xu's hand, looked down at it, and saw that it was full of large crayfish. She could already imagine what they would look like after they were cooked.

Song Xu stood at the door without moving, and Lu Yunzhou nudged him, "You're not planning to take the crayfish and lock me out, are you?"

Song Xu touched his nose. He really did have that thought. After letting Lu Yunzhou in, he asked suspiciously, "Brother Yunzhou, you didn't really come here specifically to find Xixi to eat crayfish, did you?"

"Otherwise what?" Lu Yunzhou glanced at him. "Are you afraid I might have feelings for Lin Xi?"

One should always be wary of others. Apart from his age, Lu Yunzhou is no worse than him in other aspects. Moreover, Lu Yunzhou and Xixi can eat together, which is a fatal advantage.

"Of course I'm not afraid," Song Xu said, though he was nervous. "Xi Xi and I are already planning to register our marriage abroad, and we'll have the wedding during the Chinese New Year."

This was all planned by Song Xu himself; Lin Xi was completely unaware of it.

Lin Xi put on an apron and busied herself in the kitchen; it had been a while since she had properly cooked.

Lu Yunzhou brought a lot of crayfish. Lin Xi planned to make half spicy and the other half garlic so that Song Xu could also eat them.

Since guests were coming, they couldn't just eat crayfish, so Lin Xi prepared two spicy dishes: spicy diced chicken and boiled beef, and also prepared two non-spicy dishes for Song Xu.

Song Xu walked into the kitchen and stood behind Lin Xi, snuggling up to her, "Xi Xi, do you need my help?"

Lin Xi swayed slightly. "You're helping by not causing trouble. Go keep Yunzhou company."

After kissing Lin Xi's cheek, Song Xu reluctantly left the kitchen.

Lu Yunzhou watched this scene closely. He raised an eyebrow, feeling conflicted. He wanted Lin Xi to be his younger sister, but he also didn't want her to find a man too early.

Especially the man he watched grow up. This Song Xu was naughty when he was young, and he loves to show off when he grows up. He's really not very reliable.

"Isn't Brother Yunzhou busy today?" Song Xu walked back to the living room and sat down opposite Lu Yunzhou, asking.

"No matter how busy you are, you can't skip lunch," Lu Yunzhou tapped the empty coffee table. "Don't you have any fruit platters or anything to serve your guests?"

Song Xu didn't move. "The main reason is that you didn't give us any advance notice, so Xixi and I didn't eat much fruit."

“Didn’t I send you a message before I came?” Lu Yunzhou frowned. “Is it that you can’t afford fruit, or that you’re unwilling to give it to Lin Xi? You’re being too stingy.”

“Brother Yunzhou, you’ve gone a bit too far with that joke,” Song Xu protested. “I would give my life for Xixi, let alone some fruit. Xixi is on her period these days and can’t eat anything cold, so I put it away.”

Just as Song Xu finished speaking, Lin Xi came over with a fruit platter. She was extremely embarrassed; how could he have the nerve to say something like that?

"Brother Yunzhou, have some fruit," Lin Xi placed the fruit plate in front of Lu Yunzhou. "What would you like to drink? I'll get it for you."

"Thank you," Lu Yunzhou glanced at Song Xu, "Go get it, don't keep bothering Lin Xi."

Song Xu got up, put his arm around Lin Xi, and walked towards the kitchen, saying as they walked, "Why did you make a fruit platter? It's too much trouble. Aren't you tired of cooking? How about I call someone over to help you?"

He could simply have someone come from the old house to cook a meal.

"No need, I used to do this every day, and you never seemed to care. You even deliberately made things difficult for me." Lin Xi rolled her eyes at him.

Song Xu coughed. "You wouldn't even look at me back then. I was just trying to get noticed."

"Besides, being able to eat a meal cooked by my wife is a very happy thing."

“Who’s your wife?” Lin Xi glared at him. “Don’t call me that.”

When it's just the two of you in private, it doesn't matter what you call each other, but there are outsiders here, so it's kind of embarrassing.

"It'll happen sooner or later, let's get used to each other's names first." Song Xu took the opportunity to kiss Lin Xi twice more.

Lin Xi shyly pushed him away and quickly walked back to the kitchen, while Song Xu watched Lin Xi with a smile in his eyes.

Lu Yunzhou's eyes darkened. Song Xu looked like an idiot, and he found him increasingly unpleasant to look at.

Song Xu brought over two cans of beer. "Brother Yunzhou, how's the beer?"

“Not very good,” Lu Yunzhou picked up a grape and popped it into his mouth. “It’s getting cold, I can’t drink ice-cold beer.”

"Brother Yunzhou, are you getting old? Your energy isn't as high anymore," Song Xu said, opening a can and taking a sip. "Ah, that's refreshing."

How childish!

Lu Yunzhou also opened a can and drank half of it in one gulp.

Song Xu's phone suddenly rang. He glanced at the screen and said to Lu Yunzhou, "Brother Yunzhou, I'm sorry, I need to take this call. Please have a seat."

Lu Yunzhou nodded.

Song Xu took his phone, went into his bedroom, and closed the door.

Lin Xi frowned when she saw Song Xu hurrying towards the bedroom with his phone in his hand. She wondered who was calling and why it felt so secretive.

She lowered her head and continued to remove the shrimp veins from the crayfish. The crayfish were alive, so she had to be careful not to get pinched by their claws.

Cut the head, remove the shrimp vein, and remove the gills; these three actions must be repeated for each shrimp.

"Do you need any help?" Lu Yunzhou appeared behind Lin Xi without her noticing.

Startled by the sudden noise, Lin Xi's hand trembled, and the claw of the crayfish in her hand pinched her finger.

"Ouch!" Lin Xi cried out in pain.

Lu Yunzhou reacted quickly, breaking off the crayfish's claws and leaving two holes in Lin Xi's fingers.

"It's punctured, we have to squeeze the blood out." As soon as Lu Yunzhou finished speaking, he personally squeezed the blood out of Lin Xi's finger.

Lin Xi wanted to say "wait a minute," but after seeing the beads of blood on her fingers, she grabbed Lu Yunzhou's arm, "I...I'm squeamish about blood..."
