Chapter 97 When did I ever forcibly kiss you?

Chapter 97 When did I ever force a kiss on you?

"What's wrong?" Song Xu didn't understand why Lin Xi was reacting so strongly. "You don't want my brother to have a girlfriend and get married?"

“No,” Lin Xi shook her head, then nodded, “Doesn’t he not have a girlfriend?”

“It’ll be here soon,” Song Xu replied. “He’s going to arrange a marriage.”

"Huh? He can't go on this arranged marriage." Lin Xi took out her phone and opened Bai Tiantian's chat window; she had to tell Tiantian.

Song Xu's face turned cold. "If my brother doesn't go for the marriage alliance, then I'll have to go."

"You go save yourself..." Lin Xi only realized what Song Xu was talking about halfway through her sentence. Her typing fingers stopped, and she looked up at Song Xu without saying a word for a long time.

Song Xu just stared at her quietly, and he saw struggle and hesitation in her eyes.

“You…” Lin Xi licked her lips, “If we go through with this marriage, our contract will automatically become invalid. Does that mean I won’t even be able to work as a nanny anymore? I’ll have to slowly earn money to pay you back for Grandma’s expenses.”

Lin Xi suddenly realized that she was too dependent on Song Xu. Without Song Xu, she was nothing.

She hasn't logged into the second-hand platform to sell anything recently, and hasn't made a sale in a long time.

She's really becoming more and more lazy.

Song Xu remained calm; he had been worn down by Lin Xi and had lost his temper. "I didn't agree to the marriage alliance, so our relationship can continue."

Lin Xi secretly breathed a sigh of relief; at least she still had time to prepare.

Song Xu glanced at her again, "And what I said is still valid indefinitely."

"What did you say?" He had said so much that Lin Xi didn't know which sentence he was referring to.

“If you’re willing, you can become my real girlfriend anytime,” Song Xu said, staring into her eyes. “I’m serious.”

Lin Xi's face flushed red, her heart raced, and she belatedly realized that she might have fallen into some kind of trap.

"You...I..." Lin Xi didn't know how to respond, "We...are not suitable."

This was the first time she directly responded to Song Xu's confession.

She had also longed for a beautiful love, but now she didn't deserve it.

"What's wrong with it?" Song Xu knew what Lin Xi was thinking, but still raised an eyebrow and asked.

“We are not a good match,” Lin Xi looked directly into Song Xu’s eyes, no longer avoiding the question. “A relationship that doesn’t have the blessing of our families won’t last long.”

Lin Xi was certain that the Song family would not agree, and even her grandmother would not agree.

Grandma used to nag her a lot, saying that a woman should be able to earn her own money and not rely on a man, and that she should not be so love-struck as to support a man.

Song Xu wasn't surprised by Lin Xi's answer, "What if my parents agree to us being together?"

“How could that be?” Lin Xi shook her head helplessly. She thought Song Xu’s assumption was a joke. “I don’t want to waste my energy and feelings on an assumption that can’t possibly succeed.”

That's really realistic. Song Xu turned the ring on his finger. It was a couple's ring they bought together, and he always wore it. "So, do my parents have to intervene for you to agree to be with me?"

Lin Xi frowned. "I've never understood why you like me. Any girl around you is better than me, better than me in terms of qualifications."

Family approval is one aspect, but Lin Xi can't understand why Song Xu likes her. Her looks and figure aren't the most outstanding, and she has a cold personality and doesn't know how to be coquettish. Apart from her character and intelligence, she's alright.

Song Xu suddenly reached out and grasped Lin Xi's hand, "Xi Xi, it's true that I fell in love with you at first sight..."

He wanted to say something more, but the waiter came over to serve the food, so he had to let go of Lin Xi's hand first.

Lin Xi withdrew her hand, lowered her head, and continued to complete the message she hadn't finished writing before sending it to Bai Tiantian.

Regardless, she was going to tell Bai Tiantian about Song Chen's situation; whether it worked out or not was up to them.

Lin Xi put her phone aside, picked up her chopsticks, stared at the dishes on the table, and found she had no appetite.

Song Xu picked up a piece of chicken for Lin Xi and said, "Eat first. Aren't you hungry? We can talk about the rest when we get home."

Lin Xi nodded, put the chicken in her mouth, and chewed slowly.

The meal was eaten quietly, and Song Xu ended up paying the bill.

On the way back, Song Xu first held Lin Xi's hand, and then put his arm around her shoulder. Lin Xi did not struggle or resist.

Lin Xi's mind was in turmoil, like threads of different colors tangled together, impossible to untangle.

Back at the apartment, Lin Xi wanted to go back to her room but was stopped by Song Xu.

"Xi Xi, let's talk some more." Song Xu wanted to strike while the iron was hot. It was rare that Lin Xi hadn't run away today. If tonight passed, she might go back to the way she was tomorrow.

“What else is there to talk about?” Lin Xi said weakly. “My attitude is very clear: if you don’t want to hire me anymore, I can pack my things and leave at any time.”

"But you clearly like me a lot, don't you?" Song Xu asked, gripping Lin Xi's shoulders.

"When did I ever show that I liked you?" Lin Xi turned her head away from him.

Song Xu cupped her head with both hands, turning her face to face. "When I kissed you today, you didn't resist, which proves that you like me."

Lin Xi stared at him in shock, her face flushing red and then turning pale. "You...you knew I was awake? You scoundrel, you stole a kiss from me while I was unconscious."

"Is this being a hooligan?" Song Xu didn't let go of Lin Xi's head, and quickly lowered his head to kiss her lips. "You forgot, I've done even more hooligan things."

"You..." Lin Xi didn't expect him to be so shameless and scoundrel. "I told you I don't remember anything, so don't mention it again."

Lin Xi blushed deeply; Song Xu had brought up something she had finally managed to forget.

“Okay, let’s not talk about the time you took Chinese medicine,” Song Xu said with a smile in his eyes, “Then let’s talk about the time you drank too much and forcibly kissed me.”

"What nonsense are you talking about!" Lin Xi's eyes widened. "When did I ever forcibly kiss you?"

"It was that time you ate with Shen Yan and Xiao Heng," Song Xu wasn't going to let Lin Xi off the hook, "You drank too much."

"So what if I drank too much? Didn't you say I fell asleep as soon as I got back?" Lin Xi's voice trembled slightly; she was starting to have doubts.

“I was lying to you,” Song Xu said, his eyes gleaming with a wicked smile, “After we get back, you’ll pin me against the wall and kiss me.”

“I wanted to refuse, but you were so stubborn back then, biting my lip and refusing to let go.”

"Impossible..." Lin Xi tried to shake her head but couldn't move.

“That’s not all,” Song Xu continued, “After I took you to your room, you pinned me down on the bed, took off my clothes, took off your own clothes, and…”

"Stop talking!" Lin Xi covered Song Xu's mouth.

"Mmm..." Song Xu continued to make noises. Lin Xi wanted to know what he was saying, so she loosened her grip a little.

"We also did some things that are unspeakable..."

Lin Xi: Impossible!
