Chapter 25 Is she feeling unwell?

Chapter 25 Is she feeling unwell?

Song Xu carefully examined the sheets again and found only bloodstains, with no other stains. This made him even more unsure. Only Lin Xi knew the truth about this. Should he ask her?

The panic didn't last long. Song Xu quickly calmed down. He went to the bathroom to take a shower and stared at his brother while he showered, asking, "What did you do last night?"

As if in response to Song Xu, his brother stood up for himself.

After tidying himself up, Song Xu walked out of the bedroom. The door to the room opposite was tightly closed. He walked over, stood at the door, and raised his hand to knock.

After hesitating for a while, Song Xu withdrew his arm, deciding not to disturb her any longer and to talk about it when he returned in the evening.

His intuition told him that Lin Xi wouldn't cling to him. If she really had any intentions, she should be lying in his bed when he woke up, not somewhere else.

They both need time to calm down; there's no rush.

Song Xu wanted to get a bottle of water from the refrigerator; he had been thirsty all night and his throat was parched.

As I passed by the restaurant, I saw a breakfast set on the table, with a note next to it in Lin Xijun's elegant handwriting.

[Mr. Song, breakfast is ready. I'm not feeling well today, so I'll go back to my room to rest.]

Today's breakfast is simple: a sandwich and a glass of warm milk.

Song Xu didn't care what she ate for breakfast; what she cared about was the message Lin Xi left on the note.

Is she feeling unwell? Is it because of last night?

Song Xu's fingers tapped rapidly on the table. Had he done it last night or not?

The milk was still warm, which meant Lin Xi had gotten up at the last minute to make breakfast. Did she not want to see him? Perhaps she was too embarrassed to run into him.

Song Xu sat down and ate all of his breakfast. He couldn't waste it; he couldn't let the woman's good intentions go to waste.

After finishing his meal, he personally put the tableware in the sink before leaving for the company.

Lin Xi pricked up her ears, and only relaxed after hearing the door close. She was terrified that Song Xu would come knocking.

She was still shaken by what happened last night; men are so strong, she couldn't resist at all.

She needs a few days to recover before she can face Song Xu with a normal mindset again.

Money had to be earned, and work had to continue. Lin Xi left her room to clean Song Xu's bedroom.

She prepared to make the bed first. When she walked to the bedside, she immediately noticed a small dark red stain in the middle of the light blue sheet. It was a dried bloodstain.

Lin Xi's head buzzed. Could this be something she made dirty last night?

How embarrassing! I hope Song Xu didn't see this, otherwise how am I supposed to explain it? Am I supposed to say that she was forced onto the bed and then accidentally got her period...?

The key question is whether Song Xu remembers what happened last night. If he has forgotten, will he misunderstand her if she says this, thinking she wants something?

If Song Xu hadn't forgotten, it only meant he was a bad person who pretended to be drunk to take advantage of her, and she couldn't stay here any longer.

Lin Xi bet that Song Xu hadn't seen it, so she quickly removed the soiled sheets and found clean ones to replace them.

It was almost ten o'clock when I finished cleaning Song Xu's room.

Today was the day she had arranged to meet her friend Jiang Ran. The meeting place was chosen by Jiang Ran—a Western restaurant—and the time was noon.

However, Lin Xi wanted to go to the hospital to see her grandmother first, in case her grandmother woke up and was disappointed not to see her.

Time was a bit tight, so Lin Xi quickened her pace, changed into a dress, and hurriedly left.

She first took the bus to the hospital to see her grandmother. When she entered the ward, knowing that her grandmother would not wake up so soon, she felt a little disappointed when she saw her grandmother still with her eyes closed.

While talking to her grandmother, Lin Xi massaged her body and checked her skin. Fortunately, there were no injuries.

It's not that she's overly suspicious; it's that she's seen too many bad people.

The two caregivers that Song Xu hired for her seem to be trustworthy.

It was almost time for Lin Xi to meet Jiang Ran. She kissed her grandmother's hand, got up, and left.

Lin Xi is always punctual. The Western restaurant that Jiang Ran chose is not too far from the hospital, about a 20-minute walk.

Unfortunately, her foot hasn't fully recovered yet, and walking for twenty minutes will probably make it worse.

After waiting for ten minutes without the bus arriving, Lin Xi made a snap decision and hailed a taxi.

Lin Xi gave the name of the Western restaurant, and the driver glanced at her in the rearview mirror. "Does the young lady work there?"

"No, we're going to eat," Lin Xi replied casually.

"Eating, huh?" the driver drawled. "It's not cheap there, 1,800 yuan per person."

Lin Xi frowned. So expensive? She looked down at the dress she was wearing, which she had bought at a street stall two years ago and looked a bit worn.

It's no wonder the driver looked at her with disdain; the most expensive thing she owned was the cell phone she was holding, a secondhand item she bought for 300 yuan.

She only knew that Jiang Ran's family was not poor, but she didn't know their specific financial situation. A Western restaurant with an average cost of 1,800 yuan per person was a bit beyond her comprehension.

However, since she had already made an appointment with Jiang Ran, she had no choice but to bite the bullet and go meet her.

Fortunately, the journey was not long, and Lin Xi remained silent until she got off the bus.

As soon as Lin Xi entered the Western restaurant, a waiter came over to ask if she had made a reservation. Lin Xi said Jiang Ran's name, and the waiter led her inside.

The waiter stopped at a window seat. "This is it."

Lin Xi arrived ten minutes early, but Jiang Ran hadn't arrived yet. She felt a little nervous after sitting down.

Jiang Ran didn't keep Lin Xi waiting for long. Two minutes later, she walked into the restaurant carrying a lot of things in her hands.

"Xi Xi!" Jiang Ran saw Lin Xi coming from outside the window and greeted her as soon as she came in.

Lin Xi heard Jiang Ran's voice, looked up, and saw Jiang Ran with short hair and androgynous clothing.

Jiang Ran is about 1.75 meters tall, much taller than Lin Xi. She had short hair in high school, and now her hair is even shorter than before.

It's hard to tell if they're male or female!

"Ranran." Lin Xi stood up and took a few steps forward to greet her.

Jiang Ran put her things down on the seat, hugged Lin Xi, and asked with a smile, "Have you missed me since we haven't seen each other for a month?"

In high school, the two of them sat side by side every day, for more than ten hours from morning to night. Their relationship was even closer than that of family.

"My heart aches from missing you so much." Lin Xi hugged Jiang Ran tightly. She had a cold personality and rarely joked with others, but she would relax a bit when she was with Jiang Ran.

Jiang Ran smiled and tightened her arms around him. "I believe everything you say."

Lin Xi smiled, patted Jiang Ran on the back, and the two slowly separated.

Song Xu didn't like the food in the company cafeteria, so he took his assistant to a Western restaurant downstairs from the company for lunch.

He got out of the car, and his gaze swept casually across the room before being drawn to a scene inside the window.

Song Xu narrowed his eyes. If he wasn't mistaken, the woman hugging the man looked like his nanny, Lin Xi!
