On Tuesday night, after working overtime, Lin Tang went to the supermarket to buy things.

She is not used to stocking up a lot of things at one time. Instead, she buys a fixed amount for a few days and comes back when she runs out.

After all, people's tastes are always changing, and their enthusiasm for something is short-lived. She couldn't figure out when she would change her mind, so she could only choose a few things within her patience.

As she was checking out, the salesperson was helping her scan the items. Suddenly, a bustling noise came from behind her, like a group of young men full of vigor and vitality chatting.

She was not interested in these things at first, but one of the voices sounded so familiar that she subconsciously looked over.

For a moment, the air stagnated.

She was meeting the gaze of the person who came after her, the one who ate the McMahon Crispy Chicken.

The moment he saw Lin Tang, Feng Yunjing was stunned. He obviously didn't expect to meet her here.

But her gaze did not linger on him for long. After paying the bill, she picked up the things and left.

Feng Yunjing was panicked for a moment, handed the drink in his hand to the friend beside him, and said casually: "Pay the bill, I'll go take care of something."

In fact, he had long expected to meet her in Huaizhou. After all, Huaizhou was not big or small, and people would always encounter her by chance a few times.

So the reasons for the explanation were already conceived in my mind a long time ago.

When he caught up with her, he paid special attention to her expression, which didn't change much. But he couldn't tell whether she didn't care or didn't suspect anything.

I could only take the initiative to break the deadlock: "What a coincidence, I said, we will definitely meet again."

The two of them had already walked out of the supermarket. Under the endless night, Lin Tang stopped and looked at him with a smile: "Why are you here?"

"Supermarket?" Feng Yunjing pretended not to understand. "Lin Tang, you're too stingy. You only allow yourself to come to the supermarket to buy things, but you don't allow me to come over."

Lin Tang chuckled: "I mean... Huaizhou."

Feng Yunjing's face remained calm. He was a head taller than Lin Tang. He leaned forward slightly, smiling youthfully, and said, "Is it possible that our band's studio is in Huaizhou?"

Lin Tang raised his eyes and asked, "Why did you go to Jingluo during that time?"

It just so happened that I met her in Jingluo and told her that I fell in love with her at first sight.

It's hard not to suspect that there is some hidden story behind this.

But Feng Yunjing didn't panic at all. He answered naturally, "That's because our band has a commercial performance in Beijing on the first day of the new year. New Year's Eve was too boring, so we just ran to the ancient city to earn some extra money."

"What? Do you think I'm a scammer out to defraud you of your money and sex?"

As he spoke, he found the idea funny, and his two fangs were exposed.

Lin Tang was certain that this statement was true. After all, a real performance would leave traces, and he at least wouldn't be stupid enough to lie about it.

She didn't reply and started to leave.

But he stuck to me like a dog-skin plaster: "You've finished asking questions, but I haven't asked any yet?"

Lin Tang didn't stop and asked casually, "What do you want to ask?"

"I'm asking you why you haven't replied to my messages during this period. Why are you so cold?"

Lin Tang spoke frankly: "Because I don't think it's necessary, and we won't meet again."

Feng Yunjing stared at her with bright eyes: "But aren't we meeting each other now?"

Lin Tang paused, "This one... is indeed unexpected."

Feng Yunjing smiled and didn't get angry at her answer. He glanced at the contents of her bag. It was simple: a few wraps of paper and a few buckets of instant noodles.

He looked down at the time and saw it was already late. So he asked, "Want to have a late-night snack? This time, it's my turn to treat you."

Lin Tang refused flatly.

He kept insisting, "Why not? Is it because you're not hungry?"

"Didn't you say the band doesn't make any money?" She wasn't making much money to begin with, and she had no interest in making things worse for others.

"Besides," she continued to speak directly, "if I treat you to a meal, I owe you a favor."

She felt that it would be better if they had less interactions, after all, they were just casual acquaintances.

Feng Yunjing understood what she meant.

He clutched his chest and sighed sadly: "Your words are really hurtful."

Despite this, he still shamelessly stayed by her side, whispering incessantly in her ear, "Lin Tang, do you think I'm not making any money running a band, so that's why you keep ignoring me?"

In his words, she seemed to be a person who forgot her principles and bowed to money.

Knowing he was joking, she wasn't angry and said calmly, "Then you've wronged me."

"After all, I quite admire people like you who turn their hobbies into professions."

She happens to be one too.

"Really?" Feng Yunjing was a little surprised and continued to pester her, asking, "Don't you think I'm useless?"

Lin Tang hummed, and after a moment's silence, he replied, "If I admit it, wouldn't that just be a new way of scolding myself?"

Feng Yunjing smiled and suddenly felt like chatting with her, no longer pretending to make small talk.

He followed her footsteps and said helplessly, "But what if they think I'm useless?"

"They are..."

Lin Tang was about to ask, "Are they your parents?" but then he realized this was a sensitive topic and stopped himself. He changed the subject and said, "Do their opinions matter?"

Feng Yunjing suddenly became serious: "If it were you, what would you think if someone said that to you?"

Lin Tang almost blurted out: "I will tell him to get lost."

Feng Yunjing was stunned for a moment, then burst out laughing and asked, "Then will you let me go?"

Lin Tang said, "If I tell you to get out of here, will you listen?"

From just now until now, I have followed her all the way for no reason.

Before I knew it, I had arrived downstairs of the community.

He had no reason to talk to her anymore. Seeing her figure getting farther and farther away from him, he couldn't help but shout, "Lin Tang, next time you see my message, can you please reply to me?"

His voice was loud enough for her to hear. But he didn't stop moving. He just chuckled twice and said, "We'll see. If it's not annoying, I'll go back."

Only when her figure completely disappeared from his sight did his emotions relax.

Only then did I realize that they had talked a lot along the way.

It seems that it is not entirely useless.

He raised his head and breathed a sigh of relief. He was in a pretty good mood tonight.

He curled his lips and returned the way he came.

Zhao Yingxun had heard before that Mr. Xiaofeng was not doing well in business. When he learned that Lin Tang knew him, he wanted to use Lin Tang to open up a golden finger. However, the two were not familiar with each other, so he had no choice but to choose to be self-sufficient.

But after the conversation, he suddenly realized that Feng Chibai was not as difficult to deal with as the legend said. He could even be said to be very straightforward towards him.

After the contract was signed, Zhao Yingxun wanted to say goodbye first, but was stopped by Feng Chibai.

He sat back down in a daze, thinking that something hadn't been discussed, and fearing that he might change his mind, he quickly said, "Boss Feng, the contract has been signed, you can't go back on your word."

Feng Chibai looked calm, his almond-shaped eyes curled with a faint smile, and he said indifferently, "Don't worry, it's not a business matter."

Zhao Yingxun said in surprise, "Whatever Mr. Feng wants to know, leave it to me."

He patted his chest and promised.

"Yeah?"

Recalling the day of the dinner, he and Lin Tang's shoulder-to-shoulder gesture was as familiar as that of a close and volatile couple. He narrowed his eyes slightly, still smiling, and asked, "You and Lin Tang, are you familiar with each other?"

"Lin Tang?" Zhao Yingxun didn't understand why the topic suddenly turned to Lin Tang.

But then he thought about it again. When Old Master Feng asked Feng Chibai to take Lin Tang back that day, he hadn't refused, and he hadn't even shown any impatience. He had also heard some of the industry's evaluations of Mr. Xiao Feng, and he always felt that their relationship was not as Lin Tang said, that they were not familiar with each other after only a few meetings.

So he boldly asked, "Boss Feng, are you interested in Lin Tang?"

Unexpectedly, Feng Chibai admitted it so frankly. This time, he was in trouble. He smiled awkwardly and asked, "Does she know?"

After hearing Feng Chibai's confession once again, Zhao Yingxun felt a bit confused. Lin Tang was being really unkind. He was her best friend after all, and she kept such a big thing from him.

He clapped his hands and laughed, obviously still unable to recover from the huge shock of this information.

After a while, he regained some of his composure and realized that the person in front of him was still waiting for him to answer the question. He quickly said, "Yes, very well. We went to the same university and have known each other for at least eight or nine years."

After getting the answer, Feng Chibai continued to ask: "How cooked is it?"

"What?"

Feng Chibai wore a standard smile, but it was superficial. He paused, remembering how Lin Tang had acted so casually when he'd put his arm around his shoulder. He then asked slowly, "Her body language is natural with everyone. Or is it just with you?"

Zhao Yingxun froze for a moment, then finally realized what he was referring to.

Having clearly expressed his affection for Lin Tang, the meaning of his question was self-evident when he saw Lin Tang arm in arm with another man.

Zhao Yingxun's heart sank immediately, and he quickly waved his hands in denial, "No, no, that's just her personality. She just... simply has a vague sense of the boundaries between men and women."

After a moment of silence, he said thoughtfully, "It's not that I can't tell you, but Mr. Feng must keep it a secret."

Feng Chibai raised his eyebrows and motioned for him to continue.

Zhao Yingxun took a deep breath, organized his words, and then explained the situation at Lin Tang's home to him.

Because of her family background, her parents clearly told her to behave like a boy, which led to her confusion about her gender identity. Subconsciously, she felt that there was no difference between men and women, that they were just one layer of skin and one piece of flesh, and that touching each other was not a problem.

So she treated all her friends, regardless of gender, equally. She could hold hands with girls, and from her perspective, it seemed like she could also do that with boys, and she didn't think there was anything wrong with that.

These were things Feng Chibai had never known before. When Zhao Ying stopped looking for the sound, he couldn't help but frown.

Seeing Feng Chibai remained silent, Zhao Yingxun assumed he didn't believe her, so he quickly added, "I'm not just making this up to distance myself from the matter. It's like if you kiss her on the cheek for no apparent reason and she doesn't react at all."

Feng Chibai's eyes were sharp: "Have you kissed?"

Zhao Yingxun denied it again: "That's definitely not the case. She doesn't care. We still know our limits."

As he was speaking, there was a knock on the office door.
