When she was brought to the lounge arranged by Zhao Yingxun, there was not much time left before the annual meeting officially began, but Feng Chibai did not seem to be in a hurry.

It seemed like the makeup artist had been contacted in advance, and he was already waiting in the lounge, just waiting for the protagonist to arrive.

While the makeup artist was applying her makeup, Feng Chibai sat quietly watching. Occasionally, he checked his phone and went out for a while. When he came back, Lin Tang had changed her clothes.

She sat in front of the mirror, looking at the person walking towards her through the mirror, and suddenly laughed: "I just remembered, I don't think I said I agreed?"

Feng Chibai looked at her through the mirror: "Well, time is limited, I agree."

He leaned closer to her, looked at her face in the mirror, and smiled softly, "It's really beautiful."

Lin Tang raised his eyebrows and said, "I've been busy for over half an hour. If it still doesn't look good, then the makeup artist you hired can go now."

Suddenly there was a knock on the door, and Zhao Yingxun, who was with him, called out, "Director Feng."

Feng Chibai turned around, leaned against the dressing table, faced Lin Tang, and shouted nonchalantly, "The door is not locked."

Hearing the sound, Zhao Yingxun opened the door directly: "Hey, I just came here to greet you..."

But when he saw the scene clearly, his words stopped abruptly. He looked at the woman beside him in shock, and blurted out before his brain could think: "You brought a female companion? That's not right. Aren't you still pursuing Lin Tang?"

If Lin Tang knew about this, there would be no hope.

But when he took a few steps closer and saw the face in the mirror clearly, the shock on his face became more obvious: "Oh my god, it's you. But why did you bring your ex...Lin Tang here too?"

He asked the last sentence to Feng Chibai, but his eyes were on Lin Tang.

Lin Tang met his gaze with his arms folded, snorting and laughing: "Why are you looking at me? Ask him."

"That's what I'm asking." Zhao Yingxun smiled awkwardly.

But he suddenly remembered that besides Feng Chibai, many other people from the Feng family were also coming. He hissed, blinked, and asked again, "Grandpa Feng doesn't know about this yet?"

This time Feng Chibai finally spoke up. His phoenix eyes were a little amused as he looked him over carefully. "What's going on?"

Zhao Yingxun instantly sensed the murderous intent, his heart pounding in his throat, not even daring to breathe. He quickly changed the subject and said, "By the way, we've been here for quite a while now, why don't you go downstairs and meet them?"

"I have already greeted Mr. Zhao just now." Feng Chibai said.

"And then you're gone?" Zhao Yingxun looked at him suspiciously, wanting to confirm again: "You're not planning on going down?"

Feng Chibai hummed, and said as a matter of course, "I don't really like meeting strangers."

Zhao Yingxun: "..."

I knew he was talking nonsense, but it was hard to expose him, so I could only laugh dryly and said, "Then I'll go downstairs to entertain the guests first, and I won't disturb you two anymore."

After he left, Lin Tang also stood up. She lifted her skirt and walked barefoot to the sofa and sat down.

Feng Chibai followed behind her and helped her hold her high heels. He put the shoes at her feet, squatted down to help her put them on, and then sat beside her.

There was also a coat draped over the cushion. It was prepared for her by Feng Chibai, but the heater was on in the room, so the coat was of no use.

After a long silence, Lin Tang finally couldn't help but speak: "Are we just going to sit here and stare at each other?"

Although she didn't really want to go out and see people, staying here was a waste of time.

"I think it's pretty good." Feng Chibai said with a smile.

Lin Tang asked again: "Aren't you going down to discuss business?"

Feng Chibai said calmly: "There is nothing to discuss with them."

"Didn't you say we should give the Zhao family some face?"

"I came here to give you face." Feng Chibai smiled crookedly, not seeming to think there was anything wrong with what he said. "If you don't want to go out, it's fine for us to stay here."

"I'm sorry." Lin Tang stood up. "I can't stay here forever. I need to go to the bathroom."

After saying this, she walked straight out the door.

At the sink, she washed her hands, looked at herself in the mirror, and sighed for no reason.

When she returned the same way, in the corridor, she looked up in surprise at a person who had just turned out of another lounge.

Wen Yuting was also somewhat surprised when she saw Lin Tang. Although they hadn't seen each other for a long time, she didn't feel awkward at all. She even said excitedly, "Lin Tang, it's really you! I thought you two were divorced."

Meeting her here meant that Lin Tang definitely didn't come here alone. In her impression, the only person who could allow her to attend this annual meeting was Feng Chibai's wife.

Hearing her words, Lin Tang exclaimed in confusion: "Why do you say that?"

She had only told Zhao Yingxun about their divorce, and even that was false information. She also knew that Zhao Yingxun would not speak carelessly, and now she was suddenly puzzled as to where she had gotten the information from.

Wen Yuting explained: "Because they are all saying that you have been away for so long and Feng Chibai has not come to look for you, and..."

She looked around, lowered her voice, and continued, "And someone even checked privately and found out that you two are living in separate rooms. Naturally, they think you're divorced."

"But seeing you here now proves that those people are talking nonsense. I don't know where they got this messed up information from."

Lin Tang wasn't angry about outsiders discussing their affairs. After all, she knew Feng Chibai's identity meant that any slight disturbance would be used as a topic of discussion. Seeing Wen Yuting's suddenly tense face, she smiled softly, "From your tone, you sound quite unhappy."

Wen Yuting muttered, "Please, anyone who hears something like this that doesn't wish anyone well will be unhappy."

"But you, the real protagonist, don't seem to be moved by it," she said doubtfully, then quickly thought of a possibility: "Yes, facing such a cold person, you must be eager for a divorce. I have to leave now."

Lin Tang looked at her hurriedly leaving back and stood there for a moment, his fingers still hanging in the air.

Is it cold?

I don’t think so.

Seems quite warm-hearted?

A strange emotion slowly spread in her heart. She lowered her eyes and smiled imperceptibly, without even noticing it herself.

When he returned to the lounge, Feng Chibai was on the phone. The old man's voice came from the other end of the phone: "I heard you brought a woman here?"

Feng Chibai didn't show any sign of panic, and said leisurely, "What woman?"

When he came in, Lin Tang locked the door out of habit, and when he fixed it, there was a not-so-loud, dull sound of steel turning.

But the old man's ears were particularly sensitive at this moment. He keenly caught the movement and immediately asked: "What's that sound? Why is there a sound of locking the door? Did you lock it or..."

Feng Chibai looked at Lin Tang approaching, his eyebrows curled up into a smile, and he interrupted him calmly: "Well, I locked it because I was afraid you would come in."

"Why are you afraid of me going in?" the old man asked, "Don't hide any women in your lounge."

Feng Chibai's eyes were still following Lin Tang's movements. The moment she met his gaze, he spoke slowly and clearly, "Hidden Lin Tang."

"You'd better." The old man said through gritted teeth and hung up the phone.

When Lin Tang heard that sound, his movements suddenly faltered, his heart trembling uncontrollably. However, he tried to pretend to be indifferent and asked calmly, "Didn't you bring me here just to dispel Grandpa's doubts? Why don't you just be honest?"

Feng Chibai snorted and laughed, "I confessed, but he didn't believe it."

Lin Tang wasn't referring to that incident just now, but rather why he had pretended not to understand when the old man asked him that question from the beginning. She knew he was pretending as well, so she mimicked the old man's tone and said to him word for word, "You'd better."

Feng Chibai's smile deepened. He naturally turned on the TV and asked, "What do you want to watch?"

Lin Tang frowned slightly: "Do you really think of this place as your home?"

"You're here." Feng Chibai paused deliberately, "It's not impossible to say that."

Lin Tang ignored him.

The two of them didn't stay in the lounge until the end of the annual meeting. After hearing the news that the other members of the Feng family had gone back first, Feng Chibai stood up and said to Lin Tang, "Let's go down and take a look."

Lin Tang also knew about this, so after he finished talking to the other people in his group, he pulled him aside and asked, "I remember you asked me to come here to help you deal with Grandpa, right?"

But he waited until the old man left before bringing her down slowly.

Feng Chibai explained calmly, "I've thought about it carefully. It's not appropriate to let the old man interfere too much while you're still considering it. It would be like roasting you on the fire."

Once the old man saw Lin Tang, he would inevitably call her back every now and then. Now, while the old man was between doubt and no doubt about their relationship and it was difficult to contact Lin Tang, it was the best time for her to make a decision.

During the conversation, a waiter behind Lin Tang who was carrying a stack of wine glasses accidentally tripped, and the wine tray supporting the glasses suddenly began to shake unsteadily, and the wine glasses on top were about to fall.

Feng Chibai noticed it and lost his composure. He frantically pulled her arm and brought her towards him, saying unsteadily, "Be careful!"

But he was still a step too slow. When the wine glass collided with the ground, fragments flew everywhere, and the deep red liquid inside splashed directly onto the hem of Lin Tang's light blue skirt, leaving an obvious mark in an instant.

The waiter knew he had gotten into trouble and kept saying, "I'm sorry! I'm sorry!"

Feng Chibai frowned and stared at him angrily, as if his anger was about to burst out again.

Lin Tang noticed it and quickly grabbed his hand to stop him behind him, saying softly, "It's okay."

She turned around, blocking Feng Chibai's sight, and said in a gentle voice, "Come upstairs with me to change clothes, okay?"

In front of her, Feng Chibai's attitude softened.

When Lin Tang came out of the locker room, she had changed back into her regular clothes.

Seeing that he looked unhappy, Lin Tang joked, "It seems your luck is not very good today."

Feng Chibai looked straight at her, took a deep breath helplessly, and whispered: "Mine is not very good either."

He has his own selfish motives.

He wanted her to accompany him to an event again as his wife, but God didn't seem to favor him.

Lin Tang held his arm soothingly and said softly, "Now, is it time to send me back?"

Feng Chibai no longer had any reason to keep her, so he could only nod in agreement.

When the car stopped at the gate of the community, Feng Chibai felt unbearably blocked, but there was nothing he could do, so he could only sigh deeply.

Noticing his mood, Lin Tang unbuckled his seatbelt but didn't rush out of the car. Instead, he asked, "Why are you sighing?"

Feng Chibai glanced sideways, with his own thoughts in mind, and he didn't intend to hide it: "I just suddenly feel a little discouraged. It seems that I have tried every method, but the results are still not satisfactory."

“I used to be so arrogant that I thought I could do anything, but now it seems that I am just that good.”

Hearing his discouraging words, Lin Tang's heart tightened, and the temperature in the car seemed to drop in an instant.

After a moment, Lin Tang hesitated and said, "Feng Chibai, I think Zhao Yingxun should have told you about me."

"My judgment of feelings is very vague, and I don't know how to distinguish them." She looked at him, her eyebrows trembling slightly. "So, tell me, what does it feel like to like someone?"

Feng Chibai placed one hand on the steering wheel, staring at her quietly, but the area around his eyes began to turn red unconsciously, with a hint of stubbornness, as if he was testing her.

Suddenly, he unbuckled his seat belt and approached her without saying hello.

Lin Tang subconsciously stepped back, but the car door behind her was tightly closed, and she had nowhere to retreat.

In the already cramped space, their bodies were almost touching.
