Fifty-four stars
The moment the door opened, the protagonist, sitting alone on the sofa, looked unhappy. Hearing the noise coming from her side, Wen Yuting glanced over but quickly turned away.
Lin Tang walked up to her and half-knelt, trying to get a clear look at her drooping face. She smiled softly and said, "Why are you hiding on the protagonist's birthday?"
No response was received.
Lin Tang was not annoyed and said patiently, "Let me guess, is it because of Feng Chibai?"
This time Miss Wen reacted. She frowned and muttered, "That husband of yours is so annoying."
It's a good thing that he's willing to reply. Lin Tang said thoughtfully: "Then should I tell him to get out?"
After saying that, she made a move to stand up, but was stopped by Wen Yuting. She was obviously a little panicked because she was really going to do it: "Seriously!"
Lin Tang nodded and said logically, "Who told him to get angry on someone else's birthday?"
She knew in her heart that this had nothing to do with Feng Chibai, but when girls were angry, they always had to find someone to scold, and Feng Chibai unfortunately became that person.
Seeing that the young lady's mood had improved, Lin Tang handed her a gift bag and said mysteriously: "Open it and see, there is a surprise inside."
Not knowing what she was trying to say, Wen Yuting curiously opened it and took a look. In just a moment, her eyes lit up.
That was the gift package surrounding Jiang Muyan's new album. It was currently on pre-sale online, but the first one was given to her, and there was also a greeting card inside with a birthday wish written by Jiang Muyan.
Wen Yuting was so excited that she wanted to cry. Although her idol didn't come, it was as if Jiang Muyan personally whispered Happy Birthday to her in her ear.
Her eyes were red and her voice was choked: "Lin Tang, you are such a nice person. Your husband is not annoying anymore."
She knew that Lin Tang alone would not be able to get the album peripherals, and Feng Chibai must have contributed to it. In that case, she would reluctantly forgive him.
Before her tears fell, Lin Tang quickly wiped them away. She was quite surprised: "This is the first time I hear someone say good things about me."
After thinking about it carefully, I felt that what she said did make some sense: "It's quite interesting though. After spending so much time with you rich people, I feel like my temper has actually improved a lot."
This wasn't a complaint. She had always been a person with few emotions, indifferent to everything, and hated interacting with people, especially maintaining so-called interpersonal relationships.
But now it seems that having a few people to chat with will make her life less monotonous.
Wen Yuting looked away proudly, tilting her head and saying, "Not all rich people are as easy to get along with as me."
What I mean is that I definitely have contributed to your good temper.
Lin Tang smiled and didn't refute. After staying with her for a while, the two of them walked out together.
Wen's father and mother had already gone to entertain other guests, so Feng Chibai stood quietly in a place waiting for Lin Tang to come. The place was too conspicuous, so Lin Tang saw him as soon as he came out.
Seeing that there was no one around him, he walked over with confidence.
Because Wen Yuting was still there, Lin Tang pretended to scold him in a low voice as soon as he got to him: "Behave yourself for a while."
Hearing this, Feng Chibai narrowed his eyes, but quickly guessed something.
After Wen Yuting adjusted her mood and left, Feng Chibai's gaze fell back on Lin Tang. Seeing that she felt a little embarrassed, she smiled at him guiltily.
Feng Chibai snorted lightly and said calmly, "It seems someone is secretly scolding me again."
Even though he was guessed, Lin Tang remained calm and replied confidently, "But I told you openly and honestly."
Among the guests here, apart from Feng Chibai, the only one Lin Tang knew was Zhao Yingxun.
So they found a place and formed a small circle to chat among themselves. It wasn't until the cake-cutting stage that the three of them stood up and gathered around the table to show their respect for the main character.
The cake was huge, three layers long. There were quite a few guests, so asking the young lady to cut it piece by piece would have been quite tiresome. Furthermore, she wasn't a professional cake cutter, so if she cut it piece by piece, it would have been disrespectful to the guests. So, she was only allowed to cut one piece, and the rest was left to the professional staff.
Everyone thought it was natural that the first piece of cake they cut would either be left for themselves or for their parents, but to everyone's surprise, the piece of cake that was not cut particularly perfectly would eventually fall into Lin Tang's hands.
Zhao Yingxun saw this scene and said dejectedly behind her: "Come on, my position in your heart will have to fall back again."
No one told him that Lin Tang and Wen Yuting's relationship had become so good.
His sight shifted unintentionally, and he was caught off guard by Feng Chibai's gaze, which startled him. He hurriedly explained, "Boss Feng, that's not what I meant. I meant friendship, pure friendship."
Afraid that he wouldn't believe it, he emphasized the last three words with a sincere look on his face.
During the second half of the birthday party, Wen Yuting was in a very good mood, perhaps because of the album peripherals.
Lin Tang was also in a good mood, after all, he had eaten delicious cake.
The only one who was not very happy was Zhao Yingxun. On the one hand, he was melancholy that he and Lin Tang were not even the second best in the world, and on the other hand, he was worried that Feng Chibai might misunderstand what he said and then target him.
At night, the lights in the room had long been turned off, but Lin Tang still couldn't fall asleep. She thought that she was too excited tonight, but after thinking about it carefully, she didn't seem to be particularly excited.
Suddenly she remembered something and roughly understood it.
Unable to fall asleep and feeling extremely bored, she decided to chat with the person next to her to relieve her boredom. However, it seemed unethical to wake someone who was already asleep, so she decided to find out what was going on first.
Before her fingers could completely reach his nose, they were suddenly grabbed. Fortunately, he was not asleep either.
Lin Tang instantly became interested. Although his eyelids were still closed, it did not prevent her from talking: "Ah, you can't sleep either."
The side hummed.
Lin Tang smiled and said, "Do you know why?"
Feng Chibai was not sleepy at all at this moment, so he followed her words and asked, "Why?"
Lin Tang explained: "Because of the recent solar flare and geomagnetic storm on Earth. Experts say this will affect people's sleep."
Although there was little light, she still pretended to glance at him. "You're relatively well. Experts say this can cause nausea and dizziness, but you don't seem to be experiencing these symptoms."
Feng Chibai's mouth twitched: "It sounds like you're quite a pity."
Lin Tang quickly stopped talking: "You are slandering me. Of course I hope you are doing well."
"That's not right." As soon as the words came out of her mouth, she immediately contradicted herself, "Hoping for your well-being doesn't do me any good. It's you who should hope for my well-being."
After all, he was the one who needed her help, while she was free from worries.
The room suddenly became quiet.
After a long while, Feng Chibai called out tentatively, "Lin Tang."
Knowing what he was worried about, Lin Tang said calmly, "You don't have to comfort me. I've actually accepted it."
What Grandma Lin had said to Feng Chibai wasn't just to reassure him, because Lin Tang was indeed strong enough. First, she was abandoned by her mother, then by her father, and finally, her beloved grandmother left her forever. Her heart was actually a little numb.
She knew that everyone would leave one day, so she would always prepare herself mentally in advance to give herself a buffer period.
But Feng Chibai felt a sudden pang of sadness when he heard her words. He changed the subject and said, "It's so late now. If you don't go to sleep now, aren't you afraid you won't be able to get up tomorrow?"
Lin Tang's attention quickly drifted away from his words. She muttered, "This isn't the old house. Besides, tomorrow is the weekend, and I have a day off."
Suddenly remembering something, she asked again, "No, are you going to get up early tomorrow?"
Feng Chibai was stunned for a moment, "Why do you say that?"
Lin Tang said bluntly: "Are you going to see your mother tomorrow? Do you need me to accompany you?"
Feng Chibai's eyes were filled with surprise when she said that, and even his voice trembled for a moment: "How did you know?"
Lin Tang replied truthfully, "Tomorrow is your mother's birthday, right? I saw you marked a star on the calendar in your study, but tomorrow is neither your birthday nor mine. That means there's only one important day left."
Lin Tang doesn't even joke around with him, he just keeps talking nonsense.
"Actually, after thinking about it carefully, I'm sure you called me on Qingming Festival because you wanted me to accompany you to visit your mother. Why?"
In the blurred vision, Feng Chibai's eyelashes trembled, but her voice was so calm that no ripples could be heard: "Nothing, I just thought that as my wife, you should go through the motions."
Lin Tang said with a half-assured "Oh," "If you want tomorrow, I can make up for the scene that was not completed that day."
She is not an unsympathetic person. If there is a need, she will choose to help.
What's more, the closest person to her now is her legal spouse.
Feng Chibai hesitated, but he didn't know where his hesitation came from.
Did he think so? It seemed so, but he refused to admit it.
In the end, he just said, "Go to sleep. We'll talk about tomorrow tomorrow."

The next day, Lin Tang woke up early on purpose. When he got up, Feng Chibai was no longer in the room.
She washed up and walked into the living room, where she saw Feng Chibai sitting on the sofa.
As he walked over, he asked, "Why didn't you call me when you woke up?"
Feng Chibai was obviously a little surprised to see her at this hour. He didn't answer, but asked, "Why are you up so early?"
Lin Tang said honestly: "I'm afraid I'm wasting your time."
After all, he hadn't told anyone anything yesterday. He wanted to get up early like on Qingming Festival and even set several alarms.
After learning the reason, Feng Chibai was stunned for a moment, but soon returned to normal: "You can actually sleep a little longer."
Lin Tang sat down at the dining table in a bad mood, muttering, "Why didn't you tell me earlier? You forced me to sleep last night even though I couldn't sleep."
She took a vicious bite of her toast.
Feng Chibai hadn't eaten breakfast yet, so he followed her to eat and smiled softly, "Yeah, my bad."
This statement caught Lin Tang off guard. He hadn't expected him to admit his mistake so sincerely, leaving him speechless. He felt a little guilty, perhaps because his tone had been too harsh. He quickly explained, "No, I don't mean to blame you."
Feng Chibai laughed again for no reason.
Lin Tang was even more confused: "Xiao Mao. Hey, don't think I'm comforting you. In fact, I can blame you."
But she was magnanimous and didn't bother with him.
"Don't talk while eating and don't talk while sleeping." Feng Chibai suddenly said this in a deep voice.
He seemed to be unfinished, which made Lin Tang feel even more baffled. Just as he was about to ask why he said that, he suddenly heard another sentence: "I noticed you didn't take any."
A tightness welled up in her chest, and Lin Tang was truly furious. She dropped the toast, leaned towards him, and began to argue, "Don't just blame me. Don't Grandpa and the others often pick mealtimes to ask questions? They're bullies who only dare to criticize me."
"Besides, you didn't talk in your sleep before because you had no one to talk to. You couldn't just lie in bed and talk to yourself, that would be so weird. But now it's different. You have an extra bed, so chatting before bed is normal."
Hearing the word "bed leg", Feng Chibai was caught off guard and choked.
He coughed twice and said calmly: "It's just a joke, Sui Sui, don't worry about it."
