Her heart trembled subconsciously, and she pulled herself out of it in a daze.

She had clipped the two documents together, the prenuptial agreement on top and the divorce agreement at the bottom. Feng Chibai had probably filled out the information about the man when she brought it to her, to reassure Lin Tang that she wouldn't go back on her word.

Her eyes widened and her breathing suddenly stopped for a moment, but she still started to read.

She had glanced at it briefly and didn't remember the specific contents of the so-called prenuptial agreement. But when she looked at it again, she suddenly realized that the expiration date of the contract they had agreed on was yesterday.

In other words, from today on, they should no longer be husband and wife.

To say she could remain calm at this moment was a lie. It wasn't that she was reluctant to leave the Feng family's splendor and wealth, but rather that after being together for so long, she had become accustomed to the presence of another person. Suddenly, she was asked to let go, and it was a bit difficult to let go for a while.

But she is not the type to drag her feet. Since everything has been agreed upon, she will not get entangled.

She just wondered why the person who drafted this contract didn't remind her about this yesterday.

It seems that all of this needs to be dealt with face to face in order to be clarified.

She put the rest of the things into the folder, and walked towards the study with only the two documents related to him.

The study door was not closed, but ajar. There was no light on inside, so no light could come through.

She pushed the door open, and as the gap gradually widened, the view inside gradually appeared before her.

Feng Chibai was sitting on a wooden chair facing her. There was a document on the table next to him, and he was holding another in his hand.

A few rays of silvery moonlight streamed in from the window behind him, half reflecting on his calm face and half on the document in his hand. It was as if he just wanted to see the contents clearly by the moonlight.

After hearing the sound of the door being pushed open, he raised his head without any emotion, as if he had already anticipated why she came to see him.

He pursed his lips and said nothing, waiting for her to speak first.

In the silence, it was indeed Lin Tang who first broke the strange atmosphere: "Why don't you turn on the lights?"

She walked closer to him and heard him say, "Because, I don't want to."

The atmosphere fell silent again. Because she was close enough, with the dim light from the window, she could still clearly see the black title of the document on the table. It was exactly the same as the one in her hand.

After a moment of silence, she asked again: "Why didn't you remind me yesterday?"

In the darkness, Feng Chibai's gaze remained fixed on her face, as if trying to discern her expression. But he seemed unable to read her thoughts, just as she couldn't see through him. After a long pause, he murmured, "I've forgotten."

The second hand on the wall is ticking, ticking, and it is particularly obvious in this quiet space.

It's as if the heart is resonating with it.

Lin Tang's breathing suddenly slowed down, and she nodded in understanding. She forced a smile and placed the divorce agreement in her hand on the desk.

Before Feng Chibai could figure out the purpose of her action, he suddenly heard a voice: "Happy cooperation."

Just like two years ago, on the day of Grandma Feng’s birthday party, she agreed to it without hesitation.

She had already made her decision. Or rather, it depended on his decision.

Lin Tang bent down, his fingers gripping the black fountain pen, the tip of the pen touching the signature. But before he could finish writing the word "Lin", his wrist was suddenly grabbed.

She tilted her head slightly, meeting Feng Chibai's gaze. Perhaps feeling that this sudden action was a bit out of place, Feng Chibai let go and said lightly, "If you can't find a place to stay for the time being, you can wait a few more days."

"Don't worry." Lin Tang looked at him with a smile. "The place you lived in before was provided by the institute. It's still empty now. You can move back tonight."

"Tonight?" Feng Chibai's heartbeat was disrupted for a moment, but he stubbornly wanted to find some answer from her face.

However, Lin Tang just chuckled softly: "Boss Feng, procrastination is not like your character, nor is it like my character. Since we clearly stated that this is a cooperation, there will always be a day when it ends. The longer it is delayed, the more it will be."

This time, Feng Chibai didn't stop her.

He watched the tip of the pen in her hand finish writing the two words on the paper.

Then he turned the page and did the same thing on another document.

But Lin Tang suddenly realized in her heart that compared with the prenuptial agreement, she was inexplicably not as decisive as she was when signing these two big words.

She was hesitating, but she didn't know where her hesitation came from.

But it’s good that I remembered it in time, otherwise it might have to be continued for a long time.

The final stroke of the pen announced the end of this collaboration.

She picked up one of them, turned and walked towards the bedroom without saying much.

Looking at her back, Feng Chibai suddenly lost his composure. He clenched his fingers into fists, exerting force with his fingertips, and the heat in his throat lingered repeatedly. He finally chose to stand up and walk in the direction she had left.

As soon as he entered the bedroom, he saw her packing. She didn't have many clothes, so she packed them quite quickly. Looking at the gradually filling suitcase, he seemed to be speechless, unable to utter a word.

But I felt inexplicably unhappy in my heart, unhappy that she didn't hesitate, and unhappy that she couldn't wait.

The moment everything was packed up, the last thought in his mind was completely shattered.

Seeing that she was about to leave, Feng Chibai still did not stop her, but just said: "I'll let the driver take you."

"No thanks." At this moment, the two of them suddenly became very calm. She flashed her phone screen in front of him and said, "I've already called a taxi. Thank you, Mr. Feng, for taking care of me during this period."

Feng Chibai's thin lips moved as if he wanted to say something, but in the end, he just said, "It's a pleasure to work with you."

He watched her pass him and disappeared from his sight.

My heart felt like it was being clamped by an invisible hand, and I could hardly breathe.

In fact, he regretted it the moment she turned around, but he couldn't find the words to persuade her to stay. It was as if his strong self-esteem suddenly surged up, so he hoped she would turn back first. As long as she brought it up first, he would agree.

But she didn't.

He knew that she was always decisive and would always cut off insignificant and complicated relationships in a timely manner.

So, he suddenly felt empty in his heart. Was he still an insignificant person to her?

She took away all her things, but the old man's check, the card he gave her, and the ring were left on the bed.

He walked to the window, and the person who had just left reappeared in his sight. He pursed his lips, his eyes following the figure until it disappeared again.

It felt like a piece of my heart was hollowed out. This feeling was completely different from what I had imagined.

He turned his head and saw the conspicuous bouquet of Aurora roses still on the table by the window, but it was no longer the same bouquet from yesterday.

The method she suggested did work a little in the short term, but this morning the petals began to wilt again, so he asked his aunt to replace them with a new bouquet.

He felt inexplicably lost.

When she didn't bring up the matter yesterday, he vaguely realized that she had long forgotten about it, and he also selfishly thought that the aurora was truly eternal.

But the fact is that the aurora is short-lived and no one can catch it, the untouchable aurora.

Inside the car, Lin Tang looked at the scenery flashing by outside the window, and suddenly felt a little sad, but she couldn't tell what the sadness was.

It was clear that she no longer had to abide by those annoying rules and deal with complicated interpersonal relationships, but it seemed as if she couldn't bear to leave him.

An emotion that even she herself found magical.

When I returned to my long-missed home, everything was back to normal and my mood didn't fluctuate much.

She didn't take out all the clothes at once, nor did she plan to do so. After all, there was no need.

Although it was still early, she went to bed after washing up.

But for some unknown reason, she couldn't sleep.

It was clear that there were no thoughts lingering in her mind, but no matter how she tossed and turned, she could not fall asleep.

She spent the night in insomnia.

The next morning, when she arrived at the institute, her mental state was not very good.

Ying Yu noticed it as soon as he arrived: "Didn't you sleep well last night?"

Lin Tang hummed.

Although he didn't know the reason, Ying and Yu were obviously thinking in the same direction, and they clicked their tongues several times.

This incident did not bring about any big changes in her life. She went to get off work and came home as usual, without being affected at all.

However, before leaving the institute, when she didn't see any familiar people in familiar places, she would still feel inexplicably absent-minded for a while.

Even Ying Yu noticed. In the past, even if Feng Chibai couldn't come in person due to some matters, he would have his driver wait at the institute's entrance. But today, nothing happened. It would be a lie to say he wasn't puzzled, but he didn't dwell on it. He simply asked, "Why didn't President Feng pick you up today? Did you two have a fight?"

Lin Tang replied calmly: "No."

Ying Yu knew that this wasn't the reason, he just made it up casually: "I know, I was joking."

He laughed heartily twice, and then heard a sentence in his ear: "Divorced."

The smile froze on his face. He looked at her in shock and quickly reminded her, "Boss, this is not something you can talk about casually."

Just as Lin Tang was about to speak, a familiar car suddenly flashed before her eyes. It was so familiar that she began to wonder if it was just an illusion. But the car was in her sight for too short a time, so she couldn't tell.

Ying Yu saw her expression and looked in the direction she was looking. There were still cars flowing on the road and there was nothing unusual.

He stretched out his hand and waved it back and forth in front of her face a few times, wondering, "What did you see? Why are you standing there in a daze?"

Lin Tang abruptly retracted his gaze, took a deep breath, and said lightly, "Nothing."

In the moving car, Feng Chibai's eyes were always on the rearview mirror. The figure originally reflected in it gradually became smaller until it disappeared.

The driver looked up and asked, "Director Feng, do you want to go back?"

Feng Chibai lowered his head to glance at his phone. The screen was still on the chat interface with Lin Tang. The latest message on the top was from a long time ago.

From yesterday until now, she hadn't sent anything. He didn't know if she was planning to bring it up again when she was free, or if she didn't even know about it. But as long as she didn't bring it up first, he would never take the initiative to say it.

He curled his lips: "No need."

Every day after that, he would arrive as scheduled. However, as soon as he saw her come out, he would leave immediately. Impulse was playing tricks on him, and he had to admit that he hadn't adjusted to the time they'd just been apart, and he wanted to see her. But he couldn't stay too long, or she would get suspicious.

But one day, he waited for a long time not far from the institute, but she never came out. He checked the time, and it was long past closing time. He didn't know if she had left early or was still busy inside. But he silently attributed it to the latter, and didn't leave immediately. It seemed that as long as he didn't see her, he would not leave.

The moment I raised my head again, a figure noticed this place and was striding towards this direction.

He narrowed his eyes, but still chose not to leave, as that would make him look guilty, and as long as it wasn't that person, he would have enough reasons to explain.

When he rolled down the window, Ying Yuye had already arrived beside his car.

The moment he saw Feng Chibai, he was obviously surprised: "Huh? It really is Mr. Feng. I was wondering why this car looked so familiar. Are you here to pick up my boss?"

Although Lin Tang told him a few days ago that they were divorced, he obviously didn't believe this reason.

Feng Chibai was about to deny it when he heard another voice: "Didn't she tell you?"

He immediately noticed something was wrong and frowned slightly: "What did you say?"

Seeing that he really didn't know the situation, Ying Yu explained, "She went abroad. Her flight was this morning."
