Seventy-seven stars
The air was silent for a moment, as if she found it funny. She curled her lips and slowly walked to Feng Chibai. She leaned against the edge of the table, folded her arms and looked down at him condescendingly: "Are you performing this play outdoors?"
Feng Chibai hummed, his face showing no sign of embarrassment, and continued, "It seems that this explanation is a bit poor, so, is it acceptable to those indoors?"
"Give me a reason to accept it." Lin Tang said.
"You have to work overtime this weekend. Don't you want to find a project to relax?"
Lin Tang raised his eyebrows and couldn't help but smile: "Why am I working overtime?"
"So I want to make compensation." Feng Chibai said bluntly.
"What time is it?"
"At 1:30 pm, I'll leave right after I finish watching. I won't waste any more of your time."
Lin Tang chuckled and said, "Okay."
After hearing this, Feng Chibai flipped the page of the document and signed it decisively.
He stood up, closed the file and handed it to her, then said, "Let's go eat first."
In the restaurant.
Zhao Yingxun also sat down with the two of them. He sat next to Lin Tang and looked at the large characters of Feng Chibai on the document. His eyes were full of joy. He said with a sigh, "Mr. Feng is so generous!"
Lin Tang coughed lightly, obviously trying to take credit.
Zhao Yingxun immediately closed the file and gave her a thumbs-up: "You are also very capable."
Looking at the actions of the two people opposite him, Feng Chibai narrowed his eyes and said nonchalantly, "Boss Zhao, if you have nothing to do in the future, please don't bother others. After all, they have their own jobs to do."
Zhao Yingxun's steak nearly got stuck in his throat when he heard that. Wait, was he the one being blamed for this?
But after thinking for three seconds, he decided to give in to the sponsor and said with a flattering smile, "I didn't think it through."
When they were almost done eating, Zhao Yingxun said to Lin Tang, "Shall I take you home later?"
Lin Tang was about to refuse, but someone spoke before her: "The theater is not very close to here. If we go back and forth, it will probably take a while. If you don't mind, you can rest here for a while."
This time she still didn't get the chance to speak. Zhao Yingxun reacted immediately and said quickly, "Director Feng is right. Alas, I'm not particularly convenient."
Lin Tang snorted and laughed. This guy didn't even know where she lived, so he was not on his way. She pinched his arm mercilessly and whispered through gritted teeth, "You're betraying me so soon?"
Zhao Yingxun replied with reluctance, "You haven't been able to figure out your own thoughts. In a quiet environment, a man and a woman alone in a room is the best way to stimulate people's subconscious thoughts."
Lin Tang raised his eyebrows: "What's the principle behind this?"
Zhao Yingxun explained, "If you really don't like someone, you won't want to spend even a moment with them. On the contrary, if you're interested in someone, you won't want to leave them."
Lin Tang moved a little distance away and looked at him with half belief and half doubt, but finally chose to stay.
I had only sat on the sofa for a while, before I had time to verify his words, when I began to feel sleepy.
When Feng Chibai closed the document, Lin Tang had fallen asleep on the sofa without him noticing.
He stood up and walked towards her, suddenly squatted down, carefully helped her take off her shoes, then laid her horizontally on the sofa with his head resting on her head, and the coat he was wearing served as her quilt at this moment.
He stared at her quietly, but the longer he looked at her, the more restless he became in his heart, so much so that he couldn't control himself and reached out his hand to touch her face.
But when they were only an inch apart, he felt her grasp his palm. His heart tightened, thinking he had woken her, and he frantically tried to form his words. But the expected questioning didn't come, and the person before him didn't open her eyes. She simply held his hand with both hands and placed it under her cheek, as if she were resting her head on a pillow.
He breathed a sigh of relief and chose not to pull back. He squatted on the floor and let her do it.
By the time she woke up, his arm was already numb.
Lin Tang opened his eyes, and the moment he saw him, he subconsciously pulled his hand and sat up, and asked in surprise, "Why are you here?"
Feng Chibai pointed at the hand she was holding and said calmly, "You kept holding my hand and wouldn't let me go."
Lin Tang glanced down, seemingly believing his words, and suddenly let go, saying awkwardly, "I fell asleep. It wasn't intentional."
"That's not right." After her mind cleared up a little, she immediately grasped another point, "If you hadn't come over, how could I have caught you?"
Feng Chibai said nothing, his eyes fell on her.
Following his gaze, Lin Tang noticed that she had an extra coat on. She recognized it as his and immediately understood. She laughed and said, "It's a misunderstanding."
Feng Chibai took the coat she handed him and put it on. He was not angry, but just said, "It's time to get ready to go."
This time he did not bring an assistant or a driver, and there were only two of them on the trip.
That place was indeed far away from the city as he said. When the two arrived, the show was about to start. There were many people seated in the theater, but everyone tacitly kept quiet. Therefore, Lin Tang could not make any noise when he entered, and was forced to mute his microphone.
She was actually not very interested in these artistic things, but Feng Chibai was watching them very seriously, so she didn't want to spoil his fun.
The lights above the auditorium were basically turned off, and only the stage was still lit in the entire theater.
Lin Tang leaned slightly away from him, dimmed the light on his phone, and was about to read the news when a message suddenly popped up at the top of the screen.
Response: [Boss, it’s delayed again this year]
Sui Sui: [Has the news been released?]
Ying Yu: [My friend told me, it’s an internal staff, and it hasn’t been officially reported yet]
Suisui: [How long was the delay]
Should be related to: [about a week, it seems that the maternal cycle is not stable]
Sui Sui: [That’s unfortunate.]
She put away her phone and stopped watching the performance for a moment. When she looked up, she noticed people around her wiping away tears. She blinked, then asked the person next to her, somewhat confused, "Where are we at? Why are people crying?"
Feng Chibai glanced sideways, meeting her gaze in the thin light filtering through from the stage, and said calmly, "His wife doesn't want him anymore."
Lin Tang: “…”
This question is unnecessary.
However, Feng Chibai didn't look away immediately. He stared at her quietly for a few seconds, then suddenly asked, "Why, you didn't see anything at all?"
I didn't even remember the roles played by the actors on stage.
Lin Tang felt a little embarrassed when he was hit on the head. He quickly made a "hush" gesture and whispered, "Don't disturb them."
Then he pretended to watch the performance, not daring to shift his gaze at all.
It was still early when the play ended, but it was already dark outside.
When Lin Tang opened the passenger door, a bouquet of Aurora roses caught her eye. She looked at the man who had already sat in the driver's seat in surprise.
But Feng Chibai didn't say anything at this moment. He picked up the bouquet to make room for her. After she sat down, the bouquet symbolizing the aurora fell back into her hands. Feng Chibai said slowly, "Since I invited you here, I can't let you go empty-handed."
"Boss Feng is so thoughtful." She glanced at the bouquet of roses, her eyelashes trembling. "But roses probably have a hard time growing at this time of year."
The car's engine slowly started, and as it drove out, accompanied by the whistling sound of the wind outside the window, a voice rang out from inside the car: "Since you said I have a will, then it's impossible for me to not use any means."
Lin Tang's breathing paused for a moment and he stopped talking.
The sky outside was gradually getting darker, until the black completely filled the entire sky, and suddenly snow began to fall sporadically from above.
The snow wasn't heavy, but under the light of the street lamps, it was particularly noticeable.
After a long time, the car stopped at the gate of the community.
Lin Tang hesitated for a moment, but still handed him the bouquet of flowers: "You should keep these flowers. I don't have heating at home, nor do I have any containers for growing flowers. They won't last long."
She didn't want to waste it.
Feng Chibai accepted this calmly: "Okay, then I'll keep it here for now. If you want to see it, you're welcome to come back anytime."
Lin Tang didn't reply. She unbuckled her seatbelt and was about to open the car door to get out when Feng Chibai suddenly grabbed her wrist. Then she heard a voice: "Sit in the car for a while."
She didn't understand why, but she did it anyway.
When she saw him get out of the car, go to the back seat, get an umbrella, and then walk around to his car door, she suddenly understood everything.
The moment the car door opened, she walked out. The snow was still falling, but it never fell on her.
Feng Chibai handed the umbrella handle in his hand to her without saying anything extra.
Because he had just been caught in the snow, there were some unmelted snowflakes on his coat. Lin Tang reached out to brush them off for him, frowning and asking, "You gave me your umbrella, what are you going to do? Aren't you afraid that the snow won't stop by the time we get back?"
"I'm gambling." Feng Chibai looked at her and said.
Lin Tang asked in confusion: "What are you betting on?"
"Bet the snow will stop."
Bet you'll like me.
He didn't say the second half of the sentence.
Hearing this inexplicable sentence, Lin Tang smiled and wanted to return the umbrella to him, but he was rejected: "Lin Tang, since I am standing in front of you as a pursuer, there is no way I can watch you get wet in the snow."
Lin Tang pursed her lips, not knowing what to say for a moment. After a moment, she slowly met his gaze and asked, "Are you going to get in the car? I'll support you."
Feng Chibai nodded.
Lin Tang accompanied him to the driver's seat. When the door closed, she thought for a moment and took the initiative to say to him, "Goodbye."
When she got home, she folded the umbrella and hung it on the wall hook, then walked to the sofa and sat down heavily.
The hem of her dress spread out as she moved, and her hands rested aimlessly on it. Suddenly, the back of her right hand was pricked by a small, hard object in her pocket.
She froze, having no memory of putting anything in her pocket.
When she reached out and touched the ring-shaped hard object, she had a vague guess about what it was like, but when she saw it in person, her eyes couldn't help but widen in shock.
That was the ring Feng Chibai had given her before.
She had left it in the place where they lived together, but now it appeared in her pocket.
She didn't know when he put it in, but her heartbeat stopped for a moment, and even her eyes began to feel wet uncontrollably, and her mouth couldn't close for a long time because of the hot air coming in and out.
She curled up on the sofa, holding the ring in her palm, and took out her cell phone to send him a message.
Type the next sentence: Did you put the ring there?
But before sending it out, I chose to delete all.
He typed another sentence: Did you leave something here with me?
After struggling for a while, I decided to delete it.
Finally it became a sentence: your umbrella.
The person on the other end replied quickly, as if they were waiting for her news right now.
Feng Chibai: [Please keep it for now. I might be busy these next two days.]
Suisui: [good]
