In the middle of the night, it started raining in Huaizhou.

The rain was heavy, hitting the window glass, and bursts of clear crackling sounds could be heard.

Feng Chibai was a light sleeper, and after being woken by the noise, he found it difficult to fall asleep again. He opened his eyes with a hint of irritation, and at that moment, he suddenly felt a slight force pressing down on him.

He slowly lowered his gaze. The person beside him was now facing him, still curled up in a ball. She was sleeping soundly, seemingly unperturbed by the sound of the rain. They were very close together, one of her hands resting on him.

Feng Chibai's breathing held steady, and he subconsciously tried to move his hand away. However, just as he moved half an inch, the person next to him began to hum unconsciously, as if sensing discomfort.

Because he didn't want to wake her up, he withdrew his hand and let her use him as a pillow.

The noisy sound of rain outside continued, and when it fell into her ears, it was mixed with her very light breathing.

His eyes unconsciously fell on her face, and as if out of control of his brain, he suddenly reached out and brushed away a few strands of hair that fell on her face.

But when he realized what he had done, he couldn't help but be stunned.

Suddenly, the scene in the evening when she stretched out her hand to block her sight flashed before his mind.

A strange feeling spread in my heart.

His eyelashes trembled again, and he gently pulled down the quilt that had fallen to her waist and covered her again.

At the end of the month, the "Country C Scientists and Entrepreneurs Summit Forum" was held in Huaizhou Assembly Hall. Many industry entrepreneurs and technical researchers were invited to attend the meeting that day.

As Country C's most important large-scale astronomical equipment research base, the Huaizhou Astronomical Research Institute was naturally invited. The organizers had originally invited Lin Tang and another colleague to participate, but that person had something urgent to do, so the institute asked Ying Yu to take over.

He was picked up by the organizer's special car. Since it was his first time attending such a large-scale event, he was obviously a little nervous and followed Lin Tang closely.

Even though the corridor was no different from the one leading to the conference hall in his own research institute, he still looked around curiously.

Suddenly, he caught a glimpse of someone coming out of the lounge not far away. He subconsciously patted Lin Tang and whispered, "Boss, is that President Xiao Feng?"

Upon hearing this person, Lin Tang, who had been playing with her phone, immediately looked up. The person was walking towards them and seemed to have noticed her. When he met her gaze, the corners of his mouth curved up.

There was still some time before the meeting officially started, and most people were still in the lounge. There were almost no people in the corridor.

When they were about to pass each other, they stopped at the same time.

The organizers hadn't previously revealed the list of attendees, so Lin Tang had clearly not expected him to be there. Glancing around and seeing no one else around, he quietly warned, "Don't tell anyone about our marriage here."

After all, we have seen couples on the same stage in TV dramas. It would be too embarrassing if it really happened in real life.

At least she would feel uncomfortable.

Feng Chibai glanced at her indifferently, nodded, and said nothing more.

The meeting started on time at 3 pm.

Lin Tang and Feng Chibai were far apart, and her position was not very close to the front, so it would not be too obvious if she secretly chatted with Ying and Mo Yu.

After the forum organizers give an opening speech, they will invite some entrepreneurs to come on stage to share their experiences or discuss current technological bottlenecks.

Feng Chibai is attending this time on behalf of the entire Luochen Group, so he is naturally on the speaking list.

It was a rare opportunity to hear an acquaintance speaking, so Lin Tang was willing to give him some face and sat up straighter to listen to him.

This was the first time she had seen him speak in public. He was worthy of being here on behalf of Luo Chen. He had a good grasp of his aura, as if he was at home. He didn't need a script and could easily extend his speech from many aspects.

When he said one thing, everyone in the audience applauded him tacitly, and even Ying Yu, who was standing next to him, couldn't help but click his tongue.

Lin Tang heard it, turned his head, and asked casually: "Did he speak well?"

After all, he had been with Lin Tang for a long time, so he quickly switched his attitude and shrugged: "It's okay, I gave him some encouragement for your sake."

"But..." His gaze fell on Feng Chi's white face on the stage again, "Boss Feng is indeed quite handsome. Even I, a man, think he's handsome."

Feng Chibai's features are very three-dimensional, with sharp eyebrows and strong features. Her almond-shaped eyes are sharp and aloof, which makes people feel a little afraid to approach her at first glance.

Ying Yu continued to chatter, "What's that saying? Oh, a husband's beauty is his wife's glory. Boss, you are blessed."

Lin Tang raised his hand and said nonchalantly, "Sorry, I don't need this kind of honor."

After this part ended, it was soon Lin Tang's turn to speak on stage.

Before going on stage, he should say to her, "Boss, go up and teach him a lesson."

Lin Tang glanced at him and said, "Speak less."

Lin Tang attended many such occasions, and since he had prepared the manuscript several days in advance, he was not at all nervous when speaking.

Her gaze was not fixed, it just fell on whatever it was. But when she accidentally glanced at Feng Chibai, she found that he was smiling.

While still talking non-stop, I cursed in my heart, "What a joke!"

From the end to the end, the applause never stopped, and some even sighed: "This is the true composure of an old artist."

Lin Tang patted him, signaling him to shut up. Suddenly, she felt the phone in her pocket vibrate, and she covered it with her hands and took it out to check.

Feng Chibai: [Come to Room 206 when you're done.]

Sui Sui: [? ]

Feng Chibai: [Let’s go back together later]

Lin Tang didn't reply. She remembered that Room 206 was also a lounge, and it seemed to be the one she had just seen him coming out of.

After it was over, she let Ying Yu go first, and took advantage of the crowded corridor to sneak into Room 206.

In the huge lounge, Feng Chibai sat upright on the sofa. When he caught a glimpse of her thieving look, the corners of his mouth inadvertently curved up into an inconspicuous arc.

After coming in, she did not sit down immediately, but stood in front of the door, listening sideways to the movement outside.

After a while, there seemed to be no sound. She turned around, pointed outside the door and said to Feng Chibai, "It seems there is no one here."

Feng Chibai raised his chin slightly and winked at his assistant.

The assistant immediately understood. He opened the door a little, took a half step out, glanced around, then stepped back in and said, "There are a few people talking at the end."

Lin Tang frowned and breathed a sigh of relief. She had also seen it earlier and felt that those people would not finish so quickly, so she simply sat down with them.

Suddenly remembering something, she raised her eyes and said with a half-smile, "It's quite strange, it seems like they're having an affair."

Feng Chibai tilted his gaze slightly and reminded her indifferently, "It was you who wanted to be sneaky."

Lin Tang said "oh" nonchalantly, then smiled and said considerately, "I'm just trying to leave some reputation for Mr. Feng in the future. A man who's been married for the second time, what an ugly title."

Feng Chibai's expression remained unchanged: "Don't worry about this matter."

Lin Tang was just joking. Seeing him drinking water, he stretched out his hand naturally: "Pour me a glass too."

While he was pouring water, she looked around again and asked unconvincedly, "Why do you have a single lounge?"

Feng Chibai handed her the cup of water and corrected her, "It doesn't count as a single person, there's also a share for you."

Lin Tang: “…”

Because she was thirsty, she drank all the water in one breath.

After putting the cup down, she suddenly thought of something. She turned sideways, facing Feng Chibai, and stared at his face boldly.

If Ying and I hadn't mentioned it just now, I don't think I had ever paid much attention to his appearance.

Noticing her actions and the lingering gaze on his face, Feng Chibai's Adam's apple rolled. After a moment, he couldn't help but say, "Are you free?"

Lin Tang slowly withdrew his gaze: "Oh, I just want to see this so-called glory."

"What?" Feng Chibai obviously didn't understand.

But Lin Tang didn't intend to answer. Just at this moment, the assistant reminded him that everyone outside had dispersed.

This was just covered up.

evening.

When Feng Chibai came out after washing up, he caught a glimpse of Lin Tang sitting on the floor with his computer turned on in front of him and his hands typing non-stop.

He wiped his wet hair, walked to her side and asked, "Why are you sitting here?"

Lin Tang didn't raise his eyes and replied naturally: "This table is too low. It's not convenient to sit on the sofa."

Feng Chibai didn't ask any more questions. He walked around and sat down on the other side, staring at her idly.

Because she had to go back to Huai University to give a lecture in two days, Lin Tang was preparing the content of the courseware. She took a deep breath. It had been a long time since she had touched upon related content. Her mind was a little stuck. She kept typing and deleting, but it always felt a bit unsmooth.

There was a bottle of plum wine in front of Feng Chibai, which she had just taken out. In the past, when she was running out of ideas, she would always have a few glasses to stimulate her cerebral cortex.

This time she planned to use the same trick again. The wine was closer to the person next to her. As usual, she stretched out a hand behind her, her eyes still fixed on the computer screen, and said casually, "Pour me a glass."

The person beside her responded, and within seconds, a small teacup was handed to her. Without even looking, she drank it all in one gulp.

It was only after I passed it through my mouth that I realized that this was not wine at all, but just plain boiled water.

She turned her head and glanced at Feng Chibai: "Why are you pouring this for me?"

Feng Chibai rarely laughed out loud, his eyebrows curved, revealing a few white teeth. Then he slowly picked up the plum wine and poured it into her glass.

Seeing that she was no longer making a fuss, I suddenly felt empty again.

Sometimes he felt like he was being weird. He clearly didn't like making noise, but sometimes he'd inexplicably want to tease her. Seeing her angry, like a puffed-up cat that wouldn't bite, he found it funny.

Perhaps he noticed his own abnormality but didn't want to admit it, so he looked away and tried hard to return to his normal appearance.

After a long while, after finishing the content, Lin Tang breathed a sigh of relief and leaned back. Suddenly remembering something, she put down the wine glass she had just raised, jumped onto the sofa, and asked curiously, facing Feng Chibai, "Hey, I want to ask you something. Were these rules in your family set by your grandfather, or have they been passed down?"

"It's been passed down for so long, hasn't anyone refuted it? Or does everyone think it's reasonable? It shouldn't be that I'm the only one..."

She seemed to have a lot to say, but Feng Chibai stopped her with just one sentence: "The old man decided it."

Just by hearing this, Feng Chibai's thoughts were suddenly drawn away, and he suddenly remembered that these rules seemed to have been set after that incident.

His eyes darkened and his chest ached again.

Trying to suppress the uncomfortable feeling, I suddenly noticed that the person next to me was facing the backrest and couldn't see what was happening behind him when he adjusted his posture. He was about to fall backwards because he couldn't sit firmly.

He subconsciously stretched out his long arms to steady her, but Lin Tang's desire to survive was much stronger than he imagined. Before he could touch her, his neck was tightly wrapped by two hands.

Because of the effort, Lin Tang's face was tense and he gritted his teeth to gain leverage.

Feng Chibai quietly withdrew his hand, which had been suspended in mid-air. A force pressed against his neck, forcing him to half-bend over. He looked at the instigator with a faint expression. After a moment's gaze, he slowly said, "Miss Lin seems to enjoy causing trouble for me."

Lin Tang was unhappy to hear this. He didn't care about his sore arm and used half of his strength to refute: "Who said we are ours every day, but at this moment he started to distance himself from us and called Miss Lin. He is not even willing to help me."

Hearing this, Feng Chibai raised his eyebrows and smiled maliciously.

Seeing him reaching out to remove her hand from his neck, she quickly exerted a little more strength and moved up. When she was completely out of danger, she patted her chest with a sense of relief and said to the heartless man, "Thanks, I am still quite polite, right?"

Feng Chibai said nothing. He glanced at the wall clock, then stood up and said as he passed her, "Turn off the lights and go to bed."

Lin Tang: “…”
