Chapter 48: Repaying a Favor
On weekend mornings, the soft big bed always brings a fatal temptation.
Lin You curled up in the quilt and struggled for a long time before getting up from the bed.
"My little Youyou..."
Chen Lingling spoke like a wandering soul.
Lin You froze and turned around to see a person lying beside the bed.
She held her frightened heart and asked plaintively, "How long have you been lying here?"
Chen Lingling waved her hands. "That's not important. What's important is... my fan club for Mr. Shi has officially disbanded."
Finally disbanded.
Lin You secretly breathed a sigh of relief, and said in a serious tone, "My condolences."
Human beings do not share the same joys and sorrows. At least, Chen Lingling was depressed because a group was disbanded, and she really could not empathize with her.
Chen Lingling thought about what happened last night. "By the way, how did you find Mr. Shi yesterday?"
Lin You threw back the quilt and got out of bed, saying casually, "Its name is Shi Jinghong, and he's Mr. Shi's cousin."
Chen Lingling was so shocked that she forgot to speak.
Lin You patted her shoulder and went straight to wash up.
Chen Lingling chased him to the bathroom, "How do you know all this?"
Lin You brushed his teeth while slurring his words: "I'm looking for Mr. Shi."
Chen Lingling didn't believe it. "You went to him? You're just an ordinary employee. Will he pay attention to you if you go to him?"
Lin You was about to explain, but Chen Lingling had already automatically imagined it and took over the conversation.
"I see! You asked He Xuan for help, right?"
Chen Lingling was so moved that she hugged Lin You's waist. "Sister! I love you so much. For me, you used all your connections in the company!"
Lin You: “…”
She's socially awkward, but you don't have to be so blunt.
Lin You felt that if Chen Lingling hadn't seen it with her own eyes, she wouldn't believe anything she said.
Rather than that, it’s better not to say anything.

Chen Lingling had plans for the weekend. After having breakfast with Lin You at the gate of the community, she parted ways with her without any regrets.
Lin You carried Hu Baoer, whose legs were not very flexible, to the pet hospital.
The young veterinarian held Hu Baoer's hind leg and examined it. "Who treated it last time? The wound was treated very well. Look, there's almost no scar left."
Lin You leaned over to take a look.
Tender flesh has grown in the middle of Hu Baoer's white hair. Apart from being a little redder than the surrounding area, there is really no big scar.
She was delighted and answered the doctor's questions casually.
"It's a doctor named Liang Wu."
The veterinarian was a little puzzled when he heard this, and muttered:
"This name sounds familiar. Where have you heard it before? Which veterinary hospital is he from? I'd like to go there and learn some techniques."
Lin You thought about it and gave the name of the hospital.
"Oh, there..." The veterinarian instinctively agreed, then his expression froze. "This Liang Wu you're talking about, isn't he the vice president of this hospital? The famous surgical expert in Beijing and Hong Kong, right?"
Lin You remembered seeing Liang Wu’s nameplate, “It should be.”
The pet doctor twitched the corners of his mouth and chuckled twice. No wonder he felt the name sounded familiar.
"Miss, you are not an ordinary person. Many patients can't get an appointment with him, but I didn't expect you to let him see your cat..."
Lin You was startled and saw a familiar look in the young doctor's eyes.
That kind of subtle, unconvinced, cynical rejection.
After coming out of the pet hospital, Lin You walked on the sidewalk holding Hu Baoer.
There were not many people walking, and occasionally a few electric vehicles delivering food whizzed past on the auxiliary road.
Lin You stopped in front of the glass window of a shop.
My shadow was faintly reflected on the smooth glass.
At that moment, she suddenly understood why she felt the vet's gaze was familiar.
Because the same look always appears on my face.
The wind blew, and leaves fell on her head. She looked up.
Is this the way she has been looking at the world in recent years?
"Meow~"
Hu Baoer arched his back in his arms, bringing Lin You back to his senses.
She touched its head and asked, "Tiger Baoer, he saved your life. Do you want to thank him?"
Hu Baoer said nothing.
Lin You smiled slightly, "If you don't say anything, it means you agree."

In the office, Shi Jingyuan was busy all morning. When he stopped and looked at his watch, it was almost lunchtime.
He rubbed his temples, put down the documents, looked up at He Xuan who came in with coffee and said:
"This month's performance bonus will be increased by 20%, which is considered as overtime pay for today."
He Xuan's face lit up with joy, and he immediately thanked him, "By the way, Mr. Shi, a foreign architectural design company is holding an exhibition of its past design achievements in Jinggang City, and they sent you an invitation."
Shi Jingyuan's tone was very calm, "When is the exhibition?"
"Next Wednesday night. Are you coming?"
Shi Jingyuan thought for a moment and said, "I'm not going. Please ask the Human Resources Department to arrange someone to represent me."
He Xuan agreed and asked, "Do I need you to book a restaurant for lunch?"
Shi Jingyuan was about to answer when his cell phone rang.
He picked it up and saw that it was a photo sent by Lin You.
In the photo, Hu Baoer's two paws were grabbed and he made an expression of holding his face to please others.
Lin You: Hu Baoer expressed his gratitude to Mr. Shi for saving his life, and said that if Mr. Shi is free anytime, he would like to treat you to a meal.
Shi Jingyuan placed his fingers on the kitten's head in the photo, his brows softening.
He typed back: Tell Hu Baoer that I am free now.
He looked up and said to He Xuan, "No need to book a restaurant, someone is treating us to a meal. Oh, no, a cat is treating us to a meal."
He Xuan: “…”
Aren’t there enough people inviting you to dinner every day?
It's not strange that someone invites you to dinner. What's strange is that you are so happy just for a meal that you feel like jumping for joy. That's very strange.
Also, what about the cat?
He was just being bothered by his girlfriend for a while during this period, so why did he feel that there were many things happening around Mr. Shi that he didn't know about?

Shi Jingyuan called Lin You as soon as he got out of the garage.
When Lin You received the call, she was queuing to buy milk tea.
Shi Jingyuan's sincere voice came from the receiver, "Where are you?"
"I bought some milk tea, do you want some?"
She regretted it as soon as she asked. She usually asked Chen Lingling if she wanted to drink milk tea when buying her, and she forgot for a moment that the person sitting opposite her was Mr. Shi.
Shi Jingyuan was also stunned.
Between rejecting her kindness and drinking a drink he didn't like, he chose the latter.
"I want a cup like yours."
Hearing his answer, Lin You responded with a confused "Oh".
Shi Jingyuan opened the car door and got into the driver's seat. "Send me your address. After you buy the milk tea, wait for me there. I'll come pick you up."
Lin You: "Uh... okay."
She was inexplicably assigned to this task, and only realized one thing after she hung up the phone.
When did the way she and he got along become so natural and smooth?
Moreover, it doesn’t seem inconsistent?
