336. Chapter 334 Progress on Both Sides

Chapter 334 Progress on Both Sides

The dusk in Ho Chi Minh City comes suddenly and quietly. The afterglow of the setting sun shines through the thick clouds. The old buildings look even more decadent against the dim light.

Pedestrians hurried past on the street, and occasionally the sound of dogs barking and whistles in the distance could be heard.

Quan Zaijun was riding in a few vans here, located on the outskirts of Ho Chi Minh City. The old shops along the road had already started to close, and the street lamps were flickering faintly.

There were no vendor stalls on either side of the road like those in the city center, and there was nothing on the empty streets.

"Minister," the employee driving the van slowly stopped, "We're here."

The afterglow of the setting sun shines on the outer wall of this old residential building. The erosion of time has left deep marks on this brick and stone structure. The paint on the outer wall has peeled off, revealing the yellowed bricks inside.

Most of the windows in the building are broken, and the glass is covered with dust and cracks, as if they are the scars of time.

Quan Zaijun led everyone out of the car. There was a parking lot downstairs of the small building, but there were almost no vehicles.

They went upstairs quickly and quietly. The stairs between floors spiraled upwards, and the originally smooth concrete floor in the corridor was now full of potholes.

At the stairs, an old light bulb flickered, struggling to provide a ray of light in the dusk.

The locks on almost every door are rusty. The corridor of the building is a balcony, which is used by some residents to dry clothes. It is full of shabby clothes hangers and weathered railings.

In a dimly lit residential building, Quan Zaijun would leave a few people to guard each floor until they reached that floor.

Jiang Haisang was sitting on the sofa in a simply furnished room with a cold expression.

The younger brother squatted in front of him, and his hands quickly moved across the thick stacks of banknotes. The sound was crisp and his movements were skillful.

Those banknotes were the ever-accumulating evidence of crime. Under the dim light, the breathing of both people was restrained by the money, heavy and rapid.

The air was filled with the smell of cigarettes, mixed with the greasy smell of money.

Jiang Haishang looked at the younger brother in front of him with indifference, wondering when would be the best time to kill this guy.

He killed those who were trying to share the money one by one, and now it was his turn.

Just as he was thinking, Jiang Haishang's expression suddenly changed. He looked out the window sharply and felt something was wrong.

The Kinmen security guard suddenly kicked the door and opened it.

Following a deafening sound of a door being broken, the dim room was filled with the sounds of knives, gunshots and shouts.

Bullets kept passing by, stirring up gusts of wind.

The dim light cast swaying shadows on the walls of the old house. The two Kinmen security guards took heavy and powerful steps, forcing the younger brother to retreat step by step with guns until his back was pressed against the cold corner of the wall.

The younger brother's face was difficult to identify in the shadows. He was not honest. With his hands raised, he kept approaching a cabinet where several knives were piled.

Unfortunately, as soon as the younger brother's fingers touched the handle of the knife, the sound of a gunshot immediately broke the silence.

The bullet was faster than sound. It drew a trajectory in the air that was invisible to the naked eye and hit my heart directly.

There is no pain, no struggle, only a frozen moment.

Under the dim light, the younger brother's body slowly fell down, leaving behind a pool of dark red blood, which was the only bright color in this dim room.

In the living room outside this small room, Jiang Haishang was extremely ferocious, and the knife in his hand was almost a machete.

He took cover from cabinets, sofas, and televisions and managed to escape death from a round of shooting by Kinmen security. He was only shot in the arm.

Jiang Haishang's breathing was particularly heavy, his brows were furrowed, and there was a barely noticeable twitch at the corner of his mouth.

He held the knife, and the furniture in the living room was violently twisted, the armrests of the sofa were broken, the cabinet doors were hanging in the air and swaying, and the TV screen had long been shattered.

Jiang Haishang's eyes revealed determination and cruelty, but the members of Kinmen Security just kept shooting, and bullets sprayed out from the muzzles of their guns.

There was a piercing pain in his arm, and Jiang Haishang's heart was beating violently. Unfortunately, even though he got close to the members of the Kinmen security, he still fell into despair after swinging the knife.

West Eight Cut-Proof Vest.

No matter how ruthless and powerful he was, he was still captured in this not-so-big living room and had no power to resist.

Once Jiang Haishang was captured, he had no second choice. Quan Zaijun just came in from outside the door, shot him in the head, and killed him quickly.

"Take a picture," Jeon Jae-jun waved his hand, "Remember to take a clear picture."

Except for the members who were taking photos, other members of the Kinmen security team began to clean up the scene in the dim room.

The dim light flickered in the old house. The undried bloodstains in the corners were mopped clean and the broom was immediately burned on the spot.

The bullet shells on the ground that made cold clinking sounds were collected, and the Kinmen security personnel searched the entire scene and cleaned it up.

The shattered furniture among the ruins was filled with a strong smell of disinfectant, trying to cover up the sickening smell of blood.

"Just pretend," Jeon Jae-jun waved his hand, "It doesn't matter here."

He walked out of the house, casually lit a cigarette, and called Li You.

Quan Zaijun only took a puff when Li You answered the phone. He quickly put out the cigarette in his hand and said, "Chairman Nim, it's over."

Li You glanced at the text in front of him.

[The plot of "Criminal City 2" has ended. ]

[Story Mission: The Murderer (Completed)]

[Task Reward: Green 'Fearless of Death' (already collected)]

"That's right," Li You nodded, "Next you will take over Cui Chunbai's business in Vietnam. I hope he can keep his promise."

"By the way, President Nim," Jeon Jae-jun hesitated for a moment, "I asked Choi Chun-baek before if he wanted to join us."

Li You heard the trepidation in his words and laughed, "Good. This shows that you are thinking about Kinmen."

"If Cui Chunbai is willing to join, that would be great," Li You said with a smile, "After all, he has a lot of business in Vietnam, and he has more connections and is familiar with various networks."

“If we take over, although we don’t have to start from scratch, we still have to spend money on connections and other things.”

After hanging up the phone, Li You looked at the dinner party that was still going on in front of him with a smile.

Cha Moon-sook, the head of the Asan City interest group, finally showed up, but she didn't look very happy.

He shook his head. Mayor Lee Young-soo in front of him followed his gaze and looked over with dissatisfaction in his eyes. "This woman is really different from her father."

"How's her dad?"

“Her father was the last chief justice of Asan City and was very well-loved when he retired.”

"She's not loved?"

This question stumped Li Yingzhu. He sighed and said, "I accept it."
