Chapter 43 Reporting to the Police Again
Old Mrs. Lin's hands were shaking violently. She couldn't understand why the plague-stricken Feng was in someone else's house. She only knew that she couldn't be discovered. If people knew that there was a thief in their house, then the children in the family would be doomed.
But before she could come up with anything, Feng inside let out another high-pitched scream: "Ahhhhh, don't come over here, don't come over here, get out of here."
No one heard the dog barking, but Feng was frightened.
Apparently, she heard someone coming outside the house, and without caring about anything else, Feng shouted loudly: "Mother, mother, please save me quickly, I'm about to be bitten to death by this beast."
Everyone gathered in the alley turned their heads and looked at Cui's house, which was locked.
Someone with quick thinking and who knew Feng's character understood what was going on in an instant. Feng had gone out to steal. No wonder the grandfather and grandson looked so unhappy.
There was an eerie silence in the crowd, with only Feng's howling remaining in the ears, as if she were dead.
"Why is this person in the Cui family's yard? How did she get in? Isn't there a lock on the door?"
Everyone asked, "How did you get in? They also want to know."
A man holding a stick listened to Feng's cry, swallowed his saliva, and said, "I remember the Cui family raised a big black dog?"
"That's right. That dog looks quite ferocious. Last time, it even pounced on Gu Erlang."
Speaking of the big dog raised by the Cui family, everyone has an impression that the last time Gu Erlang and his mother went to the Cui family to make trouble, they were knocked down by the dog.
"We have to get the person out quickly to prevent the dog from biting him to death." A soft-hearted woman felt sorry for Feng's crying.
Hearing this, everyone turned their eyes to Mrs. Lin, "Grandma Daya, Feng is your daughter-in-law, you have to have the final say on this matter."
It was obvious that the people from the Cui family were not at home. Feng had no idea how she got in. Now they had to go in and get Feng out. They had to either climb in over the wall or break the lock on the door.
Then this matter will not end well.
Old Madam Lin's face was as black as the bottom of a pot. She hated Feng Shi so much that she looked at her equally bewildered granddaughter. She gritted her teeth and said, "Daya, go quickly and find your father at the dock."
She wanted her eldest son to divorce this troublemaker. Her grandchildren couldn't have a mother who was a thief.
Daya was at a loss, with tears in her eyes. When she heard her grandmother's words, she hurried towards the dock.
"Everyone, please break the lock and get the person out first. After that, I, an old woman, will apologize to the young lady of the Cui family."
With Mrs. Lin's words, the man with the stick no longer hesitated and rushed forward to smash the copper lock on the door. In the courtyard, Wangcai, who had cornered Feng, heard the banging on the door from outside, let out a low roar in his throat, and lowered his body to make an attacking gesture.
Feng hugged her arms, almost scared to death.
Perhaps the voice outside the door gave Feng confidence. Feng curled up her body with resentment in her eyes.
The dog raised by the Cui family came up and bit her silently. If she hadn't blocked it with her arm, a piece of flesh on her face would have been lost.
When she got out, she would make Daya's father beat the beast to death and make those two little bitches compensate her with money. The copper lock of that era was of average quality and fell to the ground after being hit hard for a while.
As soon as the door opened, everyone saw a big black dog with smooth fur, crouching down with its four paws scratching the ground as if attacking, and looking outside the door with its teeth bared.
It was obvious that she was mad with killing intent. Everyone was shocked and said, "Could it be that Feng was bitten to death?"
The man waved the stick at Wangcai: "Go away, go away, go away."
The thing that Wangcai hated most in his life was the stick. He always remembered clearly that it was this thing that hit him, and one of his legs was broken after it was lifted up and dropped.
Seeing this thing again at this moment, all the old hatreds in my life came flooding back.
It instinctively wanted to pounce and bite, but it was hesitant to think about the woman's warning not to bite. Wangcai was a very smart dog. He was able to find a new home for himself with a broken leg, and he also knew that if he didn't obey, he might be kicked out.
Wangcai tentatively took a few steps back with his four paws. The people outside the door breathed a sigh of relief when they saw this, and they knew that it was okay to just be afraid of people.
Old Madam Lin gritted her teeth and said, "Ms. Feng, if you're not dead, get out of here right away."
When Feng heard the sound, she rolled up her sleeves and wiped the tears from her face. She wanted to move but her legs were too weak to get up.
"Mom, mom, please ask that damned girl Daya to come in and help me up. My legs are weak and I can't get up."
Cui Qingyi and Konjac were returning from delivering embroidery samples to Jinxiufang. As they turned into the alley, they saw a crowd gathered in front of their house. Feeling something was amiss, they hurriedly ran towards the door.
Feng was still waiting for someone to go in and help her, but Daya was not there. The others were not fools either. They had not figured out why Feng was at Cui's house. If they went in rashly, they would not be able to explain themselves when the owner of the house came back.
Cui Qingyi originally thought that someone was causing trouble in front of her house, but when she got closer, she saw that her door was wide open and the copper lock on the door had obviously been broken open by force and fell to the ground.
Cui Qingyi felt as if her head exploded.
It's like this again. Why is it always like this? Why are there always people who want to break into her home and destroy her peaceful life?
Konjac's eyes turned red with anger. She shouted at the crowd, "What are you doing? Are you robbers?"
When everyone saw the owner of the house had returned, they quickly made way and started talking at once: "Hey Miss Cui, you're finally back! Look at the dog you raised, it's so vicious, look how it bit Daya Niang."
No one knew why, and no one mentioned why the Cui family's yard was wide open, or why Feng ran into the Cui family's yard for no reason.
Cui Qingyi quickly calmed down after a moment of anger. When Wangcai saw her come back, he wanted to run over, but he didn't move and just growled at the corner of the wall.
Cui Qingyi quickly understood what was going on. Wangcai was probably scared before. Since he came to her house, he only moved around in the one-third acre of the yard every day. Even if the gate was wide open, he would not run out on his own.
The situation now is very clear, that is, this Feng took advantage of her and Konjac being out to steal from her house, and after being discovered by Wangcai, she shouted and attracted so many people.
In order to save Feng, these people smashed open her yard.
Fortunately, Wangcai was fierce and guarded the yard, not letting these people in.
"Wangcai, guard the gate. Konjac, report to the authorities."
Konjac was also furious. These guys were simply going too far.
When Cui Qingyi heard that she was going to report it to the police without saying anything, a woman who was on good terms with Old Lady Lin spoke up to persuade her, "Miss Cui, we all live in the same alley and see each other every day. You haven't lost anything, so why make such a fuss?"
After hearing her words, some of the onlookers echoed her, "Yes, Miss Cui, you just broke a lock, so just let Feng compensate you. We all live in the same alley, there's no need to make a big deal out of such a small matter."
