Chapter 17: Let it go.

"Why are you so fierce, little girl? Do you always bully your brother like this at home? I don't know what your parents are thinking, why do they spoil a little girl like this! Look at all this fat, are you saving it for the New Year?" Grandma Hao glared at Ye Si, who was eating meat with her head down, and then put a few more pieces of crispy pork into Mei Liang's hand.

"Grandma, Sisi has never bullied me. She's so young, it's more like I'm the one bullying her." Mei Liang was initially happy that Grandma Hao was on his side, but Grandma Hao's words about his sister made him uncomfortable.

"Right!" After finishing the meat in her hand, Ye Si continued to stare at the meat in Mei Liang's hand.

"Grandma..." Mei Liang looked at Grandma Hao, hoping she would give him a few more pieces.

"I can't give her any more. This little girl just ate it all. We need to save these for your brother and the others." Grandma Hao shook her head, not wanting to give any more to this "little piglet."

have eaten.

Mei Liang hesitated for a moment, then gave half of the crispy pork in his hand to Ye Si.

Mei Liang suddenly realized that Grandma Hao didn't seem to like his younger sister very much, and Mei Liang felt that as the older brother, he should give in to his sister.

Ye Si glanced at Mei Liang with satisfaction, thinking he was very sensible. Ye Si decided not to pursue the matter of Mei Liang throwing her into the snow anymore.

When she came out of the kitchen, Ye Si deliberately looked back to see where Grandma Hao had put the bowl of meat.

Mei's mother has four older brothers. The eldest brother is Hao Dagang. The family of five lives in the old house with Grandma Hao and Grandpa Hao.

The second brother, Hao Dali, and his family of four lived near the factory, not far away.

The third brother, Hao Daji, and his family of three lived at his wife's house because Hao Sansao's family only had one daughter.

Fourth Brother Hao Daju has been married for 5 years, and his wife recently became pregnant.

Hao Dagang and Mei's father went to inform the other three brothers, and on their way back they also visited Grandpa Hao. The three of them went home together.

"Let me see my granddaughter!" Grandpa Hao shouted before he even entered the door.

"Keep your voice down, or you'll scare the child! This is a little girl, she's timid, unlike your grandsons." Grandma Hao glared at Grandpa Hao as he entered, worried that he might frighten the child.

"Hehe, I'll keep my voice down then. Let me see, my granddaughter! Wow! This little one! She's really grown up strong! Come here, let Grandpa give her a hug!" As soon as Grandpa Hao saw the plump Ye Si, he quickly went over and picked her up.

"This weight is almost as heavy as the third son's little fat boy," Grandpa Hao said, weighing his granddaughter in his hand.

“That’s right, I almost couldn’t hold him when I brought him in,” Sister-in-law Hao chimed in.

"Grandpa, why don't you say you want to hug me?" Mei Liang stepped forward and hugged Grandpa Hao's leg.

"What's so special about you? You're just a brat. Girls are much better, all fair and clean." Grandpa Hao pinched Mei Liang's cheek, then sat down on the kang (heated brick bed) with coconut flakes in his arms.

As soon as Ye Si got on the kang (heated brick bed), she became impatient and asked Grandpa Hao to hold her. Ye Si thought the animal smelled terrible.

Coconut shoved Grandpa Hao's hand away and continued to observe the rare items in the house, while also surveying the terrain, planning to take advantage of their inattention later... hehehe!

"Wow! This girl is quite strong!" Grandpa Hao wanted to hug his granddaughter again to show her some affection, but unexpectedly, Ye Si pushed his arm away.

"Then look, is all that meat for nothing?" Dad Mei said with a smug look.

"Xiaohua, stop chatting with your dad and eat first," Grandma Hao said as she went to the kitchen to get bowls and chopsticks for Mei's dad.

"Thank you, Mom!" Dad was indeed hungry, so he didn't stand on ceremony and sat down next to Mom to start eating.

"Sisi, come here, this is your maternal grandfather, maternal... grandfather!" Mei's mother taught her daughter to greet him.

"Wolves?" Ye Si was a little confused. She turned to look at Grandma Hao, then at Grandpa Hao. Why were there two "wolves"?

“No, it’s Grandpa!” Mei’s mother corrected.

"Master?" Ye Si thought for a moment, realizing that the two beasts seemed to pronounce one word differently.

“No, it is…” Mei’s mother tried to get her daughter to say two words at once.

“Hey! Just call me Grandpa, look at my eldest granddaughter! How smart she is!” Grandpa Hao interrupted Aunt Mei’s words and answered loudly.

“Dad, look at you. She’s already confused. Now that you’ve done this, she won’t be able to tell the difference between her maternal grandfather and paternal grandfather anymore.”

"What are you afraid of? Just call me Grandpa! Come here! My dear granddaughter, Grandpa will take you to eat meat!" Grandpa Hao happily picked up his granddaughter and headed towards the kitchen.

"Right! Master! Right!" Coconut Silk's eyes lit up. She hadn't expected that this loud-voiced man would give her meat. What a good beast.

"You don't need to feed her any more meat. I've already given this girl several pieces. If you feed her any more, how will she be able to eat anything?" Grandma Hao glared at Grandpa Hao and said.

"You? You can give my granddaughter meat? Give me a break!" Grandpa Hao looked at Grandma Hao suspiciously, then carried his granddaughter to the kitchen.

Grandpa Hao knew his wife's character all too well; she hadn't paid much attention to their daughter, Fifth Sister, when she was born.

As the children grew older, it became even more obvious. Whenever there was something delicious to eat, she would always think of her four sons first. If it weren't for her sons being so sensible and always thinking of their younger sister when they ate something good, would the fifth sister have the good physique she has now?

"Hey! You good-natured man! What do you mean by that? Come back here!" Grandma Hao stood up angrily, ready to confront Grandpa Hao.

"Mom, it's the New Year, please don't take it to heart with Dad." Sister-in-law Hao quickly stepped forward to stop Grandma Hao and helped her to sit down on the edge of the kang (a heated brick bed).

"He's just picking a fight! It's my own granddaughter, how could I not give her good food?"

"I know, Mom loves her children the most. If Mom says she'll give it, then she'll give it," Sister-in-law Hao said reluctantly.

When Sister-in-law Hao married into the family, Mei's mother was still in school. At that time, Grandma Hao didn't even want Mei's mother to go to high school, thinking it was a waste of money.

If it weren't for Grandpa Hao's disagreement, all of Hao's brothers would have made money and promised to pay for Mei's tuition. Mei's mother would probably only have a junior high school diploma now, so how could she go to work in the provincial capital?

"Here, all this meat is for you!" Grandpa Hao generously took a small bowl and filled it with crispy pork for his granddaughter.

"Youyou!" Yesi nodded repeatedly, holding the small bowl steadily as Grandpa Hao carried her back into the house.

"Hey, you good-natured man! Why did you give this little girl so much meat? She can't finish it all, so she'll have to eat it all." When Grandma Hao saw that Grandpa Hao had packed so much meat for his granddaughter, she immediately felt sorry for her.
