Realizing what he had done, Wang Celou felt somewhat embarrassed. Mei Si behind him remained silent for a long time, which made him even more uneasy.
"Ahem, are there any chestnuts left?" Wang Celou coughed lightly, breaking the somewhat awkward atmosphere.
“Yes, I’ll peel another chestnut for you,” Mei said, taking another chestnut from the bag.
"Here!" Mei Si quickly peeled the chestnuts and handed the chestnut meat to the front again.
This time, Wang Celou paid special attention, trying hard to control his tongue from wanting to lick it again after tasting the sweetness.
"Side leak, why didn't you lick me?" Mei Si felt a little strange that she wasn't licked this time, and couldn't help but ask.
"Cough! Cough cough cough..." Wang Celou, who was completely unprepared, choked again.
"Look at you, you can even choke on a chestnut." Mei Si quickly patted Wang Ce Lou's back and said with a frown.
"Cough cough...no...it's nothing, cough!" Wang Ce Lou tried his best to suppress his cough. He was really afraid of Mei Si and didn't want to die under her thumb.
Even if Wang Ma was slow and nimble, she still arrived home after riding forty minutes.
"Sisi, why don't you stay here tonight?" Wang Ma asked Mei Si.
"No, my parents didn't even have a chance to say a few words to me this morning. They're still awake. I'll go back and chat with them for a while." Mei Si shook her head, jumped out of the car, and was about to leave.
"Hey? Why are you getting out of the car? Let Lou Lou take you home." Wang Ma quickly winked at her son and said.
"No need to see me off, it's just a few steps." Mei Si felt the distance wasn't far, just a few steps away, so why bother with the extra steps?
"Let's go, I'll take you." Wang Celou kicked the pedals and stopped directly in front of Mei Si.
When Mei Si saw that Wang Ce Lou had arrived, she stopped making excuses and sat back on the back seat of the bicycle.
After dropping Mei Si off at home, Wang Celou didn't go inside; he rode his bike straight home.
As expected, everyone in the family except my sister-in-law was still awake; they were sitting in the living room watching TV.
"So you finally decided to come back? Is your family fed up with you? Always following people around like a shadow." When Mei's father saw his daughter return, he wanted to laugh, but then he suddenly remembered something, his expression changed, and he said sarcastically.
"Huh?" Mei Si didn't quite understand. Why was her dad's tone of voice so strange?
"Don't listen to your dad's nonsense! Sisi, aren't you back too early? You should have come back in a few more days, right?" Mei's mother rolled her eyes at Mei's father, then turned to look at Mei Sisi and asked with concern.
"Yes, Ce Lou said that he sent a few of us back first to protect us."
"Hmph! All she ever talks about is Ce Lou, Ce Lou. She's a grown woman, isn't she ashamed?" When Mei's father heard his daughter mention Wang Ce Lou again, his eyes practically popped out of their sockets.
"Aren't you ashamed? Why should you be ashamed?" Mei Si was a little confused. Why should she be ashamed about the side leakage?
"You!" Mei's father was so angry with his daughter that he almost fell over backwards. He pointed at her, trembling, too angry to speak.
"Serves you right!" Mom Mei glanced at Dad Mei with smug satisfaction, then turned and waved to her daughter. "Protect? What happened over there?"
"It's nothing serious. I just taught those who wanted to bully us a lesson," Mei Si said casually.
"What? He dares to bully my daughter? Where is he? I'm going to beat him up!" Mei's father, who had been patting Mei Liang on the back to calm him down, stood up and started rolling up his sleeves as soon as he heard this.
"Can you just shut up already! Didn't you hear Sisi say that it happened in H country? If you're so capable, go and see for yourself!" Grandma Mei glared at her son, clearly annoyed that he kept interrupting her granddaughter.
"..." Mei's father opened his mouth, but seeing that his mother and wife were glaring at him, he didn't dare to say anything more.
"You got into a fight? Does that mean you're out of the competition?" Seeing her husband quiet down, Mei's mother turned to her daughter and asked.
"Competition qualification? I only made my move after all my matches were over." Mei Si felt that what she did didn't even count as fighting; at most, she stretched her leg and stomped a couple of times. However, she suddenly remembered what happened that night and couldn't help but add, "Well... I did it discreetly; no one noticed!"
"That's good, that's good."
"Sisi, have you eaten? I left some rice in the pot for you," Grandma Mei suddenly asked.
"I ate a lot of snacks at the night market, no..." Mei Si rubbed her stomach, thinking she could hold out until morning before eating again.
“What good are those snacks? I’ll go get you your food.” Grandma Mei waved her hand, stood up, and went to serve her granddaughter her meal.
"Grandma, please sit down, I'll go." Mei Jian quickly stood up and said.
"What are you going to do? You don't even know where I put the food." Grandma Mei shook her head, not believing that Mei Jian could find it.
"I don't know, why don't you just tell me?"
"Grandma, let Mei Jian go. It's late at night, and there are several thresholds in the kitchen. You shouldn't go," Mei Liang advised.
“Yes, Mom, you don’t need to go over there. Just tell Mei Jian about this,” Mei’s mother chimed in.
"Oh well."
Mei Jian went to fetch the food, and Grandma Mei suddenly remembered something else.
"Sisi, I met an old lady the other day. She told me that all the houses around here have been sold to one person. She asked me what my relationship was with the homeowner. Sisi, who bought your house?" Grandma Mei suddenly remembered what happened a few days ago and decided to ask her granddaughter if she knew who bought the houses around here.
"Oh? You bought all of these by yourself? No wonder no one has lived around here. This person is really something..." Aunt Mei sighed, thinking that this person was really rich.
Aunt Mei paused mid-sentence. Her daughter seemed quite wealthy; could it be...?
"Sisi, this house wouldn't be..."
