"Hey? Where are you going?" Coach Xu asked, pulling Coach Li back as he rushed towards the door.
"Where else can we go? Of course, we'll go find May!"
"If you want to see her, you should eat first."
"I have no appetite. This girl just ran away. Will she be able to memorize it tomorrow? Don't pull me, I have to go find her!" Coach Li tried to pull Coach Xu's hand away and quickly go to bring Mei Si back.
"Look at my head, you don't know, do you? Mei Si has already memorized this script." Xu Jialou said, patting his forehead.
"Huh? Didn't you say she went out this morning? How could she have time to memorize?" Coach Li looked at Coach Xu suspiciously, thinking that Coach Xu was talking in his sleep.
"What kind of look is that? You eat first, we can talk while we eat." Coach Xu insisted on pulling Coach Li into the restaurant.
Coach Xu poured himself a cup of milk tea, sat down opposite Coach Li, cleared his throat, and began to recount the events of the morning to Coach Li.
"Everyone knows that you made her memorize the script. If she can't memorize it, can we let her leave?"
"She really memorized it? How long has it been?" Coach Li looked at Coach Xu in surprise, beginning to believe Coach Xu's words.
"Yes, the time was too short! When she ran out and said she had finished memorizing everything, we didn't believe her. We thought she was just restless and wanted to go out and play. Coach Wang immediately took the script and started asking questions, wanting her to know that she couldn't go out until she finished memorizing. But unexpectedly, she actually answered them all correctly. This child is really smart!" Coach Xu said with a sip of milk tea.
"Smart?" Coach Li paused, holding his fork, feeling that the word "smart" didn't fit with Mei Si.
"Using this word doesn't seem right, memory, yes! Good memory!"
After having dinner, Coach Li went to the competition venue with Coach Xu.
Upon arriving at the venue, Coach Li quickly found Mei Si, who was happily eating a hot dog in each hand.
“She came here for only one purpose after all.” Coach Li shook his head and sat down next to Mei Si.
"How many have you eaten?" Coach Li noticed that there were already several empty hot dog boxes in the bag at Mei Si's feet, and he immediately began to worry about Mei Si's stomach.
“Five,” Mei Si said, her cheeks puffed out and her words slightly slurred.
"...Don't eat any more after you finish these two," Coach Li said, frowning.
"But I have one more..."
"Do you still want to have a big meal tonight?" Coach Li knew that only something even more delicious could make May give up the hot dog in front of her.
"think!"
"If you eat too much now, you won't be able to eat much tonight."
"Then...then I won't eat it." Mei swallowed the last bite of the hot dog in her mouth, and looked at the lonely hot dog in the other paper bag with some regret.
"Coach, you eat it, don't waste it." After thinking for a long time, Mei Si reluctantly put the last hot dog into Coach Li's hand.
Coach Li looked at the hot dog in his hand and fell silent.
He really couldn't get used to these foreign foods; the tastes were all weird. He had tried this hot dog before, and the taste was... ugh!
It's just a sausage sandwich, but they insist on putting persimmon sauce and some kind of salad dressing on top. I really can't understand how foreigners eat like this.
"You eat it!"
Mays kept her eyes on the hot dog in Coach Li's hand, waiting for him to finish it.
“…Okay, eat!” Coach Li twitched his lips, picked up the hot dog, and took a bite.
Meisi is willing to eat hot dogs because she really likes the salad dressing inside. Ever since she learned that she can add extra dressing, she asks the owner to add extra dressing every time she buys one.
Coach Li took a bite, and his mouth was immediately filled with salad dressing. He glanced at Mei Si, who was staring at him, and knew that he couldn't spit it out now.
Coach Li knew that Mei Si disliked people wasting food the most. A few days ago, a team member brought too much food and couldn't finish it, so he wanted to throw it away.
When Meiss saw this, she immediately pressed the boy down into a chair and forced him to eat the food on his plate.
No one could persuade her at the time; several team members tried to pull her away, but they couldn't budge her an inch.
This matter eventually alarmed them. Although they felt that what Mays did was a bit unreasonable, the team member was indeed wrong to waste food.
Finally, the last team member finished eating. Seeing that he had finished, Mei Si let go of him and turned to leave.
Coach Li felt that he was a coach after all, and it would be quite embarrassing for him to be lectured by Mei Si.
So even though the hot dog tasted awful, Coach Li forced himself to eat it.
Coach Li retched for a long time before finally remembering the important matter.
"Have you really memorized the entire script?"
"Okay, how about I recite it for you now?"
"No need. You can come back with me later and we can go over it again."
"Shall we go back now?" Mei Si came here mainly to eat hot dogs, and now that she's finished, she feels she can leave.
Coach Li, who had originally wanted to watch the team's match, suddenly didn't know what to say.
"Okay, let's go."
The next morning at 10 a.m., May gave an exclusive interview.
At the beginning, the reporter first asked Meiss about her birth date and when she started playing shot put and javelin.
Meis stated the answer from the script, indicating that she started learning shot put and javelin in junior high school.
"That means you haven't been training for many years."
"Yes."
"Since you have such good results, why did you only participate in the shot put competition at the beginning? As far as I know, you only participated in the javelin competition because two of your teammates were suspended."
