"I knew you'd be here around this time. I've got everything ready, just waiting for you!" Xu Liang saw Mei Si arrive and went to the kitchen to get the pork that had been marinated earlier.
"Hello, Ming-ge." Mei Si nodded to Xu Ming.
“Come, sit here. Xu Liang prepared it a long time ago. I wanted to try it first, but I couldn’t. I had to wait for you to come.” Xu Ming patted the seat next to him, gesturing for Mei Si to sit down.
Xu Ming has been seeing Mei Si frequently at the store lately, and the two have become quite familiar with each other.
“I’m still his boss, no matter what.” Mei Si nodded, thinking that Xu Liang was sensible.
"What's wrong with the eldest brother? I'm still his brother! Brother is closer than the eldest brother." Xu Ming found Mei Si's way of speaking particularly amusing; her thoughts were always different from others.

Mei Si pursed her lips and ignored Xu Ming, staring wide-eyed at Xu Liang as he prepared.
Xu Liang first placed a wire mesh that was still dripping with water on the small stove between the group. The water dripped onto the charcoal, making a "sizzling" sound.
Once the wire mesh was dried, Xu Liang began using chopsticks to pick up slices of meat from it.
Xu Liang cut the meat thinly, and soon the aroma of meat filled the air. Mei Si swallowed and couldn't help but lean forward.
As soon as the meat was grilled, Xu Liang put a slice on his brother's plate and Mei Si's plate.
Mei Si stuffed a piece of meat into her mouth, chewing while staring at the newly placed slices of meat on the wire mesh.
"How is it? Is it good?" Xu Liang asked anxiously when he saw that the others were just eating and not talking.
"Delicious, the taste is excellent!" Xu Ming nodded as he looked at the wire mesh, waiting for the next batch of meat to be cooked.
"Liangzi, you're amazing! This meat is so delicious! I've never eaten such good meat before!" Liu Hong gave Xu Liang a thumbs up.
"Meisi, how is it? Is it good?" Xu Liang was a little unsure when Meisi didn't say anything. Meisi was the best eater. Was she not saying anything because she didn't like it?
"Delicious! Shouldn't we flip the meat over?" Mei Si smelled the aroma of the meat and quickly reminded Xu Liang to flip it over, afraid that it would burn and she wouldn't be able to eat it.
"Wait a little longer, don't rush." Seeing how impatient Mei Si was, Xu Liang knew that his barbecue was a success.
"It's delicious, but the flavor is a bit bland," Xu Ming said after taking a few bites.
"I knew you'd find it bland, so I prepared this for you. Here, chili sauce. Try it and see how it tastes." Xu Liang handed his brother a small bowl from the table next to him, which contained homemade chili sauce.
"Mmm! It tastes great!" Xu Ming dipped a piece in the sauce, ate it, and nodded in approval of this way of eating.
After they had eaten most of the meat, Xu Liang put the thickly sliced sweet potatoes and potatoes on the stove to roast. Meat was a precious commodity, and they couldn't possibly fill their stomachs by eating meat; that would be too extravagant.
“Brother, there are several more barbecue stalls now, but they’re not as profitable as before. How about we switch to selling barbecue?” Xu Liang had been thinking about this idea for several days. Today, his brother tasted the barbecue he made, and Xu Liang thought his brother would agree.
"Skewers don't make much money anymore. This grilled meat is delicious, but it seems quite laborious to grill. Do people have to grill it themselves? Can they do that?" The grilled meat is indeed delicious and novel, but people who come out to eat want to pay for ready-made meals. Would they be happy to do it themselves?

Plus, they can grill other things, like sweet potatoes and potatoes, which are cheap, so they won't feel bad about eating as much as they want." Xu Liang had already thought of all this. But they won't have so many concerns about sweet potatoes and potatoes.
"You're quick-witted! Okay, I'll get the stove ready tomorrow." Xu Ming nodded, agreeing to turn the skewer shop into a barbecue restaurant.

Lu Qi led her people around the snack street, but when she didn't find Mei Si at any of the other shops, she knew that Mei Si must be at Xu's barbecue shop.
"Are you sure she's here?" Yan Ping didn't understand why Lu Qi wasn't going in to check and was so certain.
"Yes, she must be here."
"Then I'll go in and call her out!" Liu Chunhua really didn't want to wait foolishly outside, so she decided to go and call her directly.
"No, you can't go!" Lu Qi quickly grabbed Liu Chunhua, preventing her from entering the barbecue restaurant.
"Why not? You already know she's inside, just drag her out, right?" Liu Chunhua thought Lu Qi was being too indecisive. She was clearly here to beat someone up, so why not just bring her out and beat her up? Did she have to wait until she finished eating?
"The owner of this shop knows her. If we alert him, we won't be able to get our money back."
"Surely not? The restaurant owner doesn't care about this kind of thing."
