Chapter 75

Mei Si waited until after dinner to finish eating. Seeing the adults chatting on the side, Mei Si quietly approached Gou Sheng.

"Gousheng, why didn't you let me just ask?"

Mei Si tilted her head to look at Gou Sheng. She had learned this gesture from Xu Aihua. It was said that this action would let people know her doubts.

"From now on, call me Brother Ce Lou. Don't call me Gou Sheng anymore."

"Gou Sheng sounds so nice, why call him Ce Lou?" Mei Si tilted her head even further, she didn't understand why Gou Sheng didn't like being called Gou Sheng anymore?

"Just call me that. What do you want to ask?" Wang Celou didn't want to argue with Mei Si about whether her name sounded good or not, because he knew that it was impossible to explain it to her.

"Where did Grandma Wang go? Why isn't she coming out to eat?" Mei Si asked, tilting her head and speaking in a strange tone.

“My grandma passed away last year. Remember, don’t mention my grandma in front of my parents.” Wang Cailou shook his head, knowing that was what she wanted to ask earlier. How come her personality hasn’t changed after all these years?

"Why?" Mei Si felt uncomfortable leaning to one side all the time, so she switched to the other side.

"Because if you bring it up, they will feel sad and upset."

“Don’t mention them…” Mei Si couldn’t understand why they would be upset if she brought up something they all knew about.

Why are you always tilting your head like that?

Wang Celou couldn't help but think, "Isn't she uncomfortable in such an awkward position?"

“Xu Aihua said that this posture can express my inner doubts.” Mei Si continued to tilt her head firmly.

"...Do you think I won't answer your question if you don't tilt your head?" Wang Celou rubbed his temples, feeling a headache coming on.

"I don't know, I've been tilting my head the whole time." Meiska blinked, unsure if Wang Celou would answer her question if she didn't tilt her head.

"Besides... tilting your head a little is fine, what are you doing? Is your neck broken?"

Wang Celou shook his head helplessly and said.

"I want to express my extreme confusion, and of course, I'll make the gestures even bigger."

Meiss said matter-of-factly.

"..."

Mei's father took Mei to school early the next morning and left in a hurry. For various reasons, national team members need to live on campus and can only go out on Sundays.

Mei Si didn't feel uncomfortable with group living, but Coach Li was a source of great distress for her.

On her second day at the club, Coach Li noticed something was wrong: Mei Si wasn't using any force when throwing the shot put! That's unacceptable!

"Put some effort into it! Look at your muscles, all loose and flabby. How can you expect to get good results like this?" Coach Li patted Mei Si's arm holding the shot put, saying with exasperation.

Mei Si glanced at the group of people running on the playground and chose to remain silent.

Mei Si: What if I hit someone hard and kill them?

"Can't you understand human language? I told you to push harder!!!" Coach Li was so angry that he yelled at Mei Si when he saw that Mei Si was still acting like she was about to die after he had been talking for so long.

The teammates training nearby were all afraid of the strict Coach Li. Seeing that Mei Si had angered the coach so much, they all cast pitying glances at Mei Si.

Coach Li is terrifying. If you anger him, he will punish you severely, regardless of whether you are a girl or young.

Mays' teammates thought that Mays dared to defy the coach so recklessly because she was young and the coach wouldn't punish her.

Mei Si's ears were ringing from the shouting. Seeing the people on the playground ahead running past, Mei Si simply threw the shot put with a little more force.

"Hey! Yes, you need to put in more effort, but you're still not using enough strength. You should do it like this, see? Touch my arm, you need to let your arm..." Coach Li didn't turn around to see how far Mei Si had thrown. He felt that based on Mei Si's performance just now, he was still not satisfied that Mei Si hadn't used her full strength.

Coach Li demonstrated his shot put posture and had May touch the muscles on his arm, wanting the child to compare the difference between herself and him.

"Ah!!!" A bloodcurdling scream suddenly came from afar.

"What are you all doing? You're all slacking off now that your coach isn't here? Go run laps!" Coach Li was annoyed by the shout and turned to yell at the students gathered in the distance.

"Coach Li, come quick!" The students who had gathered around did not disperse because of Coach Li's words; instead, they called for Coach Li to come over.

"These brats are getting more and more outrageous. When Liu Zhu comes back, I'll make sure he teaches you a lesson!" Coach Li strode into the crowd.

"Everyone disperse! Those who are not involved, go do what you need to do!" Coach Li began to drive away the growing number of students.

"What's wrong? What do you want me to see?" Coach Li asked, walking up to the student who had shouted first after everyone dispersed.

"Coach Li, look!" Zhu Lijun said, pointing to the hole in the ground.

"Hmm? This is... shot put?" Coach Li looked down, his expression hardened, and then he squatted down to examine the round hole on the ground more closely.

"Where did the shot put come from?" Coach Li struggled for a while before finally managing to pry the shot put out. He stood up, holding the shot put, and asked Zhu Lijun.

"Over there," Zhu Lijun said, pointing southwest.

"I came back to get something I'd left behind. If I had run a little faster..." Zhu Lijun shuddered and secretly resolved never to forget anything again.

The students who had gathered around quickly moved aside when Zhu Lijun pointed in a direction, so that Coach Li could see the direction clearly.

Coach Li looked southwest, where only Mei Si was standing there, lost in thought...
