Chapter 98

Chu Baqi wasn't originally called Chu Baqi; her name was Chu Xin. She was a college graduate who had just entered the workforce and worked hard every day, striving to gain a foothold in the company as soon as possible.

On the day of the incident, she was delivering a contract to her manager when she was hit hard while crossing the street.

The contract fell to the ground, and just as Chu Xin was about to pick it up, a gust of wind suddenly blew, scattering the contract everywhere.

Chu Xin quickly picked up the contract from the ground, but when she checked the page count, she found that one page was missing.

Chu Xin looked up and finally noticed that the last piece of paper had flown to the middle of the road. She rushed over quickly, afraid that the contract would get dirty from the wheels of the car.

Clearly, Chu Xin overestimated her speed; she thought she could run to a safe location with the contract before the car even arrived.

And so... Chu Xin became Chu Baqi.

Chu Xin: This name is strange, but it sounds familiar.

Chu Xin is a seasoned online novel reader and knows how to deal with this kind of sudden event where she has a different body but has not inherited the original body's memories.

Chu Xin's feigned amnesia was so successful that even the doctor believed she had genuinely lost her memory.

But the arrival of one person left her completely bewildered.

"Who?" Chu Xin thought she had misheard.

“Wang Celou, your grandma’s neighbor, Grandma Yu’s grandson. Your dad is chatting with him right now. Don’t worry, he’ll leave in a bit,” Chu’s mother reassured her.

"Wang Ce Lou?! Chu Ba Qi!"

Chu Xin finally understood why her name sounded familiar; it was the name of an important supporting character in a novel, and it might even be the name of the female lead!

The reason I say "possibly" is because she didn't finish reading the novel.

She started reading the novel when she was about to graduate, but after starting work, she was too busy and put it aside halfway through, planning to continue reading it when she had more time.

This is a male protagonist story. The main character, Wang Celou, is an ancient prince who is reincarnated after his death and becomes Wang Celou in the late 1960s.

Wang Ce Lou originally planned to live an ordinary life, taking it one day at a time, but he ran into his childhood neighbor, Mei Si, at university.

Mei Si is very beautiful and usually seems well-behaved. After accompanying him home a few times, her family assumed that the two of them were dating. When Wang Ce Lou saw that Mei Si did not deny it, he tacitly accepted the relationship.

But! In her senior year, Mays got together with the principal's grandson.

Wang Celou didn't like Mei Si. He just felt that he was of age and should find a girlfriend. Since Mei Si had someone she liked, he would let her have her.

However, the principal's grandson started causing trouble for Wang Celou, and eventually even framed Wang Celou, leading to Wang Celou's expulsion from school.

The male protagonist's parents were so devastated by this incident that their hair turned white overnight. Wang Ce Lou finally decided to work hard and stop worrying his parents.

Wang Celou started his business from scratch, beginning with a street stall and gradually building his own business empire...

Chu Xin didn't know exactly how the male protagonist developed his business empire; she only knew that he initially started by selling fans he painted himself at a street stall.

"Let him in!" Mays shouted excitedly.

"Alright, alright, Mom will let him in right away." Seeing that her daughter was a little excited, Chu's mother thought that her daughter had remembered something.

The doctor said that some people or scenes might trigger her daughter's memories. Chu's mother believed that Wang Ce Lou was the opportunity for her daughter to regain her memories.

Chu Xin initially met Wang Ce Lou out of curiosity, but after chatting with him a few times, she gradually became attracted by his unique temperament.

Chu Xin felt a little regretful, thinking that such a good man shouldn't be held back by Mei Si.

Chu Xin decides to help Wang Celou change the plot and keep him away from Mei Si, that vain woman.

Chu Xin felt that as long as Wang Ce Lou didn't associate with Mei Si, he wouldn't be expelled and could complete his studies. In this era, graduating from university was a very prestigious thing.

Chu Xin believed that with a university degree, Wang Celou would have a smoother path to starting his own business.

Chu Xin knew that there was still more than a year left before the plot began, and she hoped to become good friends with Wang Celou before he met Mei Si.

Chu Xin began to meet with Wang Ce Lou every week under the guise of studying.

During her studies, Chu Xin discovered that her mind was now exceptionally sharp; she could memorize the contents of articles she had never read before after reading them only twice.

The ability to remember everything seen is a privilege usually reserved for protagonists in novels, which made Chu Xin even more convinced that the identity she was inhabiting was that of the female lead in this book.

When Wang Celou first started teaching Chu Baqi, he wasn't very serious. He thought Chu Baqi just wanted someone her age to keep her company, and he only saw himself as a playmate that Chu Baqi didn't mind.

However, after the teaching began, Wang Celou gradually became more serious. Chu Baqi was very smart. As long as he taught her any knowledge, Chu Baqi would remember it immediately and even apply it to other situations.

Of course, this could also be because she had studied it before and still had some recollection of it.

However, since Chu Baqi was studying diligently, Wang Celou did not want to mislead her, so he would spend some time on Chu Baqi every week.

That day, Chu Baqi pointed to the scene of the male and female protagonists kissing on TV and asked Wang Celou what it meant.

“Those are… two people who like each other…” Wang Celou was organizing his thoughts when Chu Baqi suddenly moved closer and tried to kiss him.

"No! You shouldn't do that. Such actions are only permissible when the two people are husband and wife!" Wang Celou quickly stepped back, pointing at Chu Baqi who was still trying to approach.

"That's all for today, I'm leaving now." Wang Celou felt that today was not a good day for teaching, so he decided to leave the Chu family early.
