Chapter 128

“This person’s name is Mei Si,” Mei Si said with a wink and a smile.

"..." Mei Liang looked at Mei Si expressionlessly, unsure whether she was joking or not.

"Meisi? This name sounds familiar, doesn't it?" Brother Jie felt that the name was particularly familiar.

"Meisi! Isn't that Meisi who broke so many world records?" Brother Wang suddenly became very excited. He looked at Brother Jie and gestured the action of throwing the shot put. "Old Jie, it's that Meisi! The Meisi who brought glory to the country and crushed foreigners!"

"It's her? This is her house? Then, then we can get to know the world champion?" After remembering who Mei Si was, Jie Ge was so excited that he almost couldn't speak properly.

After a moment of excitement, the two sensed something was off. They turned around and were immediately stunned. The shop's matter was settled, so why wasn't Mei Liang happy? Instead, he seemed angry.

Upon careful consideration, Mei Liang realized that it was strange that Mei Si had mentioned knowing where there were vacant shop spaces when they were at home. He had been too anxious at the time to think much about it.

Now that I think about it, how could he not know what his sister is like? When has Mei Si ever paid attention to anything other than food? It seems this shop really belongs to Mei Si, otherwise she wouldn't have known.

Mei Sihui bought a shop. It wasn't that he disapproved of his sister buying one, but the main problem was that she bought it without telling the family, which was upsetting.

Mei Liang: No way! We have to teach Mei Si a lesson this time, otherwise this girl might start keeping everything she does from her family in the future, and that would be terrible!

Mei Liang's eyes widened, and he adopted the posture of an older brother, wanting Mei Si to know how serious it was to do such a thing behind the back of her family.

"Wait! Little sister just said that you and she both know Mei Si, and are very close. You also have the surname Mei..." Brother Wang stared wide-eyed at Mei Liang, who might be related to the world champion. How come he hadn't thought of this before? They both have the surname Mei!

"Well, no wonder you weren't involved when we were talking about the Asian Games the other day. Tell me! Were you secretly laughing to yourself?" Jie turned around and wrapped his arm around Mei Liang's neck, squeezing him tightly under his armpits.

"Brother Jie! I was wrong! I... I can't breathe, let me go!" Mei Liang's authority as the older brother lasted less than two minutes before it was completely destroyed by Brother Jie's grip.

Mei Liang's face was flushed red from being strangled. He tried to pry Jie Ge's arm off, hoping that Jie Ge would let him go quickly.

Mei Si hadn't intended to interfere with their jokes, but when she noticed that Mei Liang's face was flushed red, she had no choice but to speak up. Her family couldn't be hurt by outsiders!

"Let go of my brother!" Mei Si opened the car door with a serious expression, jumped out of the car, and intended to pry her brother's arm off.

The two, who were just joking around with Mei Liang, suddenly felt a little embarrassed when Mei Si got out of the car to stop them. Had they scared the little sister?

Brother Jie quickly released Mei Liang, raised his hands and took two steps back to indicate that he would not do it again.

"Hey little sister, don't be afraid, we just joke around like this all the time," Brother Wang said, touching his short hair and looking embarrassed.

"I'm not scared, it's just that my brother is too useless!" Mei Si glanced at Mei Liang, who was leaning on his knees and panting heavily, and said with a stern face.

Mei Liang paused in his heavy breathing. He felt that something was off about his sister's tone. He looked up but couldn't figure out what was wrong, so he stopped thinking about it.

Mei Liang touched the back of his neck, which felt a little cold, shook his head, and began to discuss the shop rental with Jie Ge.

"Let's hurry back and tell everyone the good news. Once this is settled, we can talk about the championship in detail," Brother Wang said, glancing sideways at Mei Liang.

The group went straight back to the shop. Many of the shop owners who had gone out to look for a place also returned, and they all looked worried, clearly indicating that they hadn't found a suitable place.

Mei Liang was still thinking about Mei Si buying a shop, so he didn't wait for the other shop owners. He greeted the few people who had returned earlier, picked up Mei's parents, and went home together.

As soon as Mei Liang got home, he called over Grandma Mei, who was in the kitchen, and told the whole family about Mei Si buying a shop.

"Oh!" Grandma Mei nodded calmly, indicating that she understood.

"...Grandma, it's a shop! Not a house, it's a huge shop, no, it's practically a shopping mall! Grandma, did you not understand?" Seeing that Grandma Mei wasn't surprised at all, Mei Liang thought that maybe she hadn't understood what he meant. "The shopping mall is...the store where you used to work, yes, it's that big!"

"I understand." Grandma Mei nodded, indicating that she knew what the shopping mall meant.

"Sisi bought a store? What's she going to do with it?" Mei's mother understood. Her daughter had done something big again!

"I knew this girl couldn't keep a secret. I was thinking of asking her privately tonight what happened, but I didn't expect you to find out so quickly!" Grandma Mei sighed and turned to go back into the house to get the contracts she had seen that afternoon.

"My grandma already knew?" Mei Liang and Mei's parents exchanged a glance, not understanding why Mei Si only told Mei's grandma.

"Why did you only tell Grandma when you bought the item? Don't you know how old Grandma is? Why are you making her worry about you?" Mei's father glared at his daughter, feeling that her behavior was wrong.

"I didn't tell Grandma?" Mei Si was also a little confused. She had just told Mei Liang. Of the others, only Ce Lou knew that she was going to buy an apartment. Could it be that Ce Lou told her?

"You child, how could you just throw away such an important contract? If you lose it, we won't be able to get the property certificate," Grandma Mei said, putting several contracts on the table.

"The contract? I clearly hung it there... Where did my bag go?" When Mei Si saw the contract, she finally understood how Grandma Mei knew. She quickly turned to look at the coat hanger by the door, but her bag that she had hung there was gone.
