Chapter 324 Confrontation
Ji Wan looked at her coldly, "This slap is for your threat." After saying that, she slapped her again, "This slap is for your impersonation."
He Wanqing was stunned by the beating, her face was burning with pain, and two clear palm prints appeared.
She was so angry that she was shaking all over. "Ji Wan, you will regret this. I will make you pay the price."
"I'm always here for you," Ji Wan said calmly. "But I advise you to put aside those little thoughts. If anything happens to me or my family, I will make sure the whole of Yucheng knows your true identity."
After saying that, Ji Wan turned and left, leaving He Wanqing standing there alone, the palm print on her face burning with pain.
After leaving the racecourse, Ji Wan drove directly to the "Moon Night" Cafe.
This is a niche coffee shop located in the southern district of Yucheng. The environment is quiet and very suitable for private conversations.
When Ji Wan arrived, Chi Wenyan was already waiting in the corner.
Seeing her come in, he nodded slightly.
"Sorry, I'm late," Ji Wan sat down opposite him, "I was delayed on the way."
Chi Wenyan picked up the coffee cup and said, "I have ordered two cups of coffee. I hope you don't mind."
"Thank you," Ji Wan took the coffee. "What did you want to talk about? About the Qihai project?"
Chi Wenyan's expression turned serious. "The Qihai Project is not just an ordinary investment project. There are many conflicts of interest involved."
"What do you mean?" Ji Wan asked.
"Chi Lin invested so much money not just to make money," Chi Wenyan whispered, "He is playing a big game, and you may just be one of the chess pieces."
Ji Wan narrowed his eyes, "What do you know?"
Just as Chi Wenyan was about to answer, his phone suddenly rang.
He glanced at the screen, his expression becoming serious, "Sorry, I have to take this call."
Ji Wan nodded in understanding.
Chi Wenyan walked aside to answer the phone, while Ji Wan was thinking about the information he had just received.
Chi Lin's behavior was indeed strange. He invested all his funds in the Qihai project and signed a bet agreement. All of this was unusual.
A few minutes later, Chi Wenyan came back with a more serious expression. "Sorry, there's something urgent that needs to be dealt with. We'll discuss the details of the Qihai project another day."
Ji Wan was a little disappointed, but did not force it. "Okay, I have to see Fu Qichuan tomorrow. Do you have any suggestions?"
Chi Wenyan thought for a moment, "Be careful of his conditions, especially those regarding equity and funding. Fu Qichuan is not a pushover. There are often traps behind his generosity."
Ji Wan nodded, "I'll pay attention, thank you."
Chi Wenyan stood up and said, "I'll take you back."
"No, I drove here," Ji Wan declined. "You go and take care of your urgent business."
Chi Wenyan hesitated for a moment, then nodded and left.
The next morning, Ji Wan returned to the company to prepare materials for the meeting with Fu Qichuan.
As soon as she sat down at her workstation, Cheng Wen came over in a hurry.
"Ji Wan, Manager Liu is looking for you." Cheng Wen's expression was serious.
Ji Wan nodded, stood up and went to Liu Zixin's office.
When she opened the door, she saw Liu Zixin sitting behind his desk with a smug look on his face.
"Manager Liu, do you have something to talk to me about?" Ji Wan asked calmly.
Liu Zixin raised his head with a fake smile on his face, "I heard that you met Fu Qichuan yesterday?"
"Yes, he is very interested in the Qihai project." Ji Wan answered briefly.
Liu Zixin's smile deepened. "Very good, very good. However, this project is too important. I have decided to take it over myself."
Ji Wan frowned, "What do you mean?"
"What I mean is, I'll be in charge of the meeting with Fu Qichuan this afternoon," Liu Zixin said arrogantly. "You're too inexperienced to handle such a big client."
Ji Wan sneered, "Manager Liu, I fought for this project. Fu Qichuan specifically asked to see me."
"That's because he doesn't know our company's hierarchical structure," Liu Zixin shrugged. "Of course, department managers should receive major clients. Besides, you're just a newcomer who hasn't been here long and isn't even familiar with the company's basic procedures."
Ji Wan took a deep breath and controlled his emotions. "Manager Liu, I think you misunderstood. Fu Qichuan agreed to discuss this project because he saw my ability."
"Ability?" Liu Zixin sneered. "Just because you're good at riding a horse, you can be good at business? Don't be naive. You're still far from understanding the rules of the business world."
Ji Wan walked out of Liu Zixin's office with no expression on his face, but his heart was full of anger.
She returned to her seat, picked up her cell phone, and called Fu Qichuan directly.
"Mr. Fu, this is Ji Wan. I have something I want to confirm about our meeting this afternoon."
Fu Qichuan's voice came from the other end of the phone, "Miss Ji, is there any problem?"
"Manager Liu from my company said he would attend today's meeting on my behalf. I wanted to confirm your intention," Ji Wan said bluntly.
There was silence on the other end of the phone for a few seconds, and then Fu Qichuan's voice came with a hint of laughter, "Ms. Ji, I'm only interested in you. If you hadn't come, I might have canceled this meeting."
Ji Wan breathed a sigh of relief. "Thank you, Mr. Fu, for your trust. I'll be at your company on time this afternoon."
"No," Fu Qichuan said suddenly, "I want to change the venue. There is a small race at the racecourse today. We can talk while watching the race. What do you think?"
Ji Wan was slightly surprised, but quickly agreed, "No problem, what time?"
"Two o'clock in the afternoon, the same place as yesterday." Fu Qichuan said with a smile, "Oh, by the way, remember to bring your riding equipment."
After hanging up the phone, Ji Wan was thoughtful.
Fu Qichuan was obviously very interested in her riding skills, and this might be a good opportunity to get closer to her.
In the afternoon, Ji Wan arrived at the racecourse on time. Fu Qichuan was already waiting at the entrance, and when he saw her, he came forward with a smile.
"Ms. Ji, you arrived on time. I like people who are punctual." Fu Qichuan said enthusiastically.
Ji Wan responded with a smile, "Hello, Mr. Fu."
"Let's go. Today's competition is very special. I think you will be interested." Fu Qichuan took Ji Wan into the racecourse.
Along the way, Ji Wan noticed the respect that people around him showed to Fu Qichuan. Whether they were staff or other members of the racecourse, they all treated him with great respect.
Obviously, Fu Qichuan's status here is extraordinary.
Arriving at the VIP area, Ji Wan was surprised to find Chi Wenyan was already there.
He was wearing a dark grey casual suit and was talking to several business people. When he saw Ji Wan and Fu Qichuan come in, he nodded in greeting.
"I didn't expect that Mr. Chi would be here today." Ji Wan said lightly.
Fu Qichuan smiled slightly, "The horse farm is so small, it's normal to run into acquaintances often."
Ji Wan noticed that there was something behind Fu Qichuan's words, but she didn't ask any more questions. She handed the prepared business plan to Fu Qichuan and said, "This is some of my ideas for the Qihai project. Please take a look, Mr. Fu."
