Chapter 329 Trying to steal the credit

Chapter 329 Trying to steal the credit

Just as she was modifying a document on her computer, the office door was suddenly pushed open and Liu Zixin walked in with a gloomy face.

"Ji Wan, let's talk." The man's voice sounded colder and harder than usual.

Ji Wan raised his head and asked calmly, "What's the matter, Manager Liu?"

Liu Zixin slammed a document on her desk and said, "Explain what's going on."

Ji Wan picked up the document and took a quick look. He found that it was an email from Fu Qichuan, who clearly stated that he was only willing to cooperate with Ji Wan himself and refused to communicate project details with anyone else.

"It seems that President Fu is only willing to cooperate with me." Ji Wan put the document back on the table with a flat tone.

Liu Zixin sneered, "Ji Wan, what tricks did you use? A newcomer who just joined the company not long ago, and you made President Fu obsessed with you after just one action. I'm very curious how you did it."

The atmosphere in the office froze instantly.

The colleagues around stopped what they were doing and pricked up their ears to eavesdrop.

Ji Wan's face turned cold and he slowly stood up.

"Manager Liu, please be careful with your words." Her voice was low and dangerous. "I earned Mr. Fu's trust through my professional ability and sincerity, not by stealing the credit of others like some do."

Liu Zixin was frightened by her momentum and took a half step back involuntarily, but he quickly straightened his back again, "What do you mean?"

"My point is very clear," Ji Wan looked him straight in the eye. "Instead of questioning my professional ability here, why not improve your professional qualities and work ethics? That way, maybe a client will be willing to work with you next time."

Liu Zixin's face turned pale. "Ji Wan, you are too arrogant. Do you think you are so great just because you have President Fu's support? Don't forget, in this company, I am your direct superior."

"I haven't forgotten," Ji Wan responded calmly, "but that doesn't mean I'm going to put up with unfair treatment and unfounded accusations. Manager Liu, if you have any opinions about my work, you can make specific suggestions and requests instead of questioning my professional ethics in this way."

Liu Zixin was choked by her words and couldn't find a suitable rebuttal for a moment.

The colleagues around held their breath, afraid of missing any details of this fierce confrontation.

They were all eating melons.

"Okay, very good." Liu Zixin said through gritted teeth, "Since you are so capable, then continue to be in charge of this project. But remember, if anything goes wrong, the responsibility will be entirely yours."

After saying that, he turned and left the office, slamming the door shut, as if the whole room was shaken.

Ji Wan took a deep breath and sat down again.

She knew that this confrontation would not end there, and Liu Zixin was not the kind of person who would give up easily.

Sure enough, in less than five minutes, she saw Liu Zixin walk into the elevator, obviously going to complain to Chi Lin.

At the same time, in the president's office on the top floor of the Chi Group, Chi Lin and Ning Weiwei were immersed in an intimacy that should not have happened.

Ning Weiwei sat on Chi Lin's lap, her arms around his neck, their lips pressed tightly together.

The office curtains were drawn tightly and the door was locked from the inside to ensure that no one would disturb them.

Ning Weiwei pulled away slightly and said in a gentle voice, "Brother Lin, you've been worried these past few days. Is it because of Ji Wan?"

Chi Lin's expression became complicated. He gently placed Ning Weiwei on the sofa beside him and said, "Weiwei, we need to talk."

Ning Weiwei keenly noticed the strangeness in his tone, and the smile on her face froze immediately, "What are you talking about?"

"This kind of relationship can't continue." Chi Lin stood up and straightened his clothes.

A trace of panic flashed in Ning Weiwei's eyes. She quickly stood up and grabbed Chi Lin's arm. "Why? Is it because of her? You promised me that you would always protect me and would not let me get hurt."

Chi Lin gently broke free from her hand. "Weiwei, I'm not abandoning you. I will continue to protect you and help you solve your ex-husband's problems, but this... relationship must end. The Qihai project has now entered a critical stage, and I can't be distracted."

"You're just making excuses." Ning Weiwei's voice began to tremble. "You're obviously doing this because of Ji Wan, right? Now that she's back, you don't want me anymore?"

Chi Lin took a deep breath and tried to remain patient. "Weiwei, it's not what you think. Ji Wan and I no longer have any feelings for each other. We only maintain a superficial relationship for our common interests. But the situation is complicated now. I must focus on the project and cannot make any mistakes."

Ning Weiwei persisted, tears glistening in her eyes. "What about when the project is over? Will you come back to me?"

Chi Lin didn't answer directly, but just said softly: "Let's spend this time first. When everything is settled, I will give you an explanation."

Ning Weiwei bit her lip, as if she wanted to say something, but in the end she just silently tidied her clothes and walked towards the door.

Before opening the door, she looked back at Chi Lin, her eyes full of complicated emotions, then she gently closed the door and left.

Chi Lin sat back in his office chair and rubbed his temples. At this moment, the phone on his desk suddenly rang.

He glanced at the caller ID and saw it was Liu Zixin.

"What's the matter?" Chi Lin pressed the hands-free button, with a hint of impatience in his voice.

"Mr. Chi, I must report Ji Wan's problem to you." Liu Zixin's voice came through the phone, obviously filled with anger.

Chi Lin frowned and said, "Speak."

"Mr. Fu clearly stated that he was only willing to cooperate with Ji Wan and refused to communicate project details with others. This is totally inconsistent with the company's regulations. Moreover, Ji Wan has now become very arrogant and openly challenges my authority in the office." Liu Zixin said angrily.

Chi Lin was silent for a moment, "Did Mr. Fu really say that?"

"Yes. He even wrote in the email that except for Ji Wan, everyone else in our company is trash. He said we are a shabby company that even crows wouldn't shit on when flying over us." Liu Zixin was furious.

Chi Lin's brows furrowed even more tightly. "Forward the email to me."

"I've already sent it, President Chi. This kind of thing must be dealt with seriously. Otherwise, the company's management order will be completely disrupted."

"I understand." Chi Lin responded coldly, "Anything else?"

"No more." There was a hint of dissatisfaction in Liu Zixin's voice, "But I hope Mr. Chi can solve this problem as soon as possible."

"Yeah." Chi Lin responded briefly and hung up the phone.

He immediately turned on the computer and checked the email forwarded by Liu Zixin.

After reading it carefully, Chi Lin's face became even gloomier.

The email did clearly state that they were only willing to cooperate with Ji Wan, but it did not contain the insulting remarks that Liu Zixin mentioned.

Obviously, Liu Zixin exaggerated the facts and tried to sow discord between him and Ji Wan.
