Chapter 344 Take Good Care of Her

Chapter 344 Take Good Care of Her

Speaking of his father, Ji Wan couldn't help but have tears in his eyes, "If Dad is still alive, he must be very grateful to you."

"Don't say that. You are family to me." Jing Nanxing held Ji Wan's hand. "Listen to me, no matter what happens, I will help you take good care of grandma and Aunt Hua. You are not fighting alone."

Ji Wan was so moved that he was speechless and could only nod slightly.

Compared with Chi Lin's cold calculation, Jing Nanxing's sincere care made her feel warmer.

"The most important thing now is the Qihai project." Ji Wan wiped away her tears and forced herself to cheer up. "If this succeeds, I will be able to live independently and start anew with my mother and grandmother."

"That project is indeed the key." Jing Nanxing seemed to be thinking about it. "But you have to be careful with Chi Lin. He won't let it go easily."

Ji Wan nodded, "I know, that's why I agreed to wait until the project is over before officially getting a divorce."

"A wise choice." Jing Nanxing agreed. "Before that, if you need any help, just let me know."

Ji Wan smiled gratefully, "Thank you, Nanxing. What I need most now is a quiet place to live so that I can think about my next step."

"This is your home. You can stay as long as you want." Jing Nanxing said with a smile, "Now, you need to rest. Do you have any plans for tomorrow?"

Ji Wan sighed, "Chi Lin asked me to go to the old house and pretend nothing happened. For grandma's sake, I had to go."

"I understand." Jing Nanxing nodded, "If you need anything, feel free to call me."

Ji Wan nodded gratefully, and then Jing Nanxing took her to the prepared guest room.

The room was spacious and clean, and the bedding on the bed smelled of sunshine.

"Have a good rest, and call me if you need anything." Jing Nanxing said softly, then gently closed the door, leaving Ji Wan some private space.

Ji Wan lay on the bed, looking at the unfamiliar ceiling, feeling a strange sense of relief.

Although the road ahead is not easy, at least she no longer has to live in lies.

On Sunday morning, Chi Lin appeared at Jing Nanxing's apartment door on time.

He was wearing a casual suit and looked smart and handsome, as if the argument last night had never happened.

Jing Nanxing opened the door and saw Chi Lin, a hint of disdain flashed in his eyes, "Oh, Mr. Chi, it's an honor to have you here."

Chi Lin's expression changed slightly, but he quickly regained his composure. "Mr. Jing, I'm here to pick up Ji Wan."

"Wanwan is still getting ready, you can wait at the door." Jing Nanxing deliberately did not invite him in.

Chi Lin suppressed his anger and said, "I hope Mr. Jing won't interfere in our affairs."

Jing Nanxing sneered, "Interfere? Mr. Chi, don't think too highly of yourself. Wanwan is my sister who I have watched grow up. She has been wronged, so of course I have to stand up for her."

Just when the atmosphere was tense, Ji Wan came out and asked, "Nanxing, is Chi Lin here?"

Seeing the confrontation between the two, Ji Wan shook his head helplessly, "Okay, we should go."

When Chi Lin saw Ji Wan, a complex emotion flashed in his eyes, but soon turned into a gentle surface. "Are you ready? Grandma is waiting for us."

Ji Wan nodded and turned to Jing Nanxing, "I'll be back for dinner tonight."

"Remember to come back early." Jing Nanxing stared at Chi Lin and said meaningfully, "Don't be too late. You still have to go to work tomorrow."

Chi Lin snorted coldly and turned to walk towards the elevator. Ji Wan gave Jing Nanxing a grateful look and followed Chi Lin.

"Your friend's attitude is not very friendly." Chi Lin couldn't help but say in the elevator.

Ji Wan responded coldly, "He just cares about me."

"Care?" Chi Lin laughed sarcastically, "I think you have other motives."

Ji Wan glanced at him and said in a cold voice, "Don't think everyone is like you. Nanxing is the son of my father's best friend. He has treated me like a sister since he was a child."

She sneered coldly, thinking to herself, when a person is dirty, everything looks dirty to him.

Chi Lin stopped talking, but the dissatisfaction in his eyes was obvious.

The two walked out of the apartment building in silence, and Chi Lin's new car was already parked at the door.

It was a black Bentley, apparently a replacement for the Maybach he had smashed up.

"Get in the car." Chi Lin opened the car door with a hint of impatience in his tone.

Ji Wan got into the car and looked at the scenery outside the window. He had only one thought in his mind: to survive these six months and then say goodbye to this failed marriage completely.

The car was driving on the streets of Yucheng. Neither Ji Wan nor Chi Lin spoke. The atmosphere in the car was suffocatingly cold.

"Stop for a moment," Ji Wan suddenly said, pointing to a flower shop in front, "I want to buy some flowers."

Chi Lin frowned, "What are you buying flowers for?"

"Grandma likes flowers," Ji Wan said calmly, "I can't go empty-handed."

Chi Lin was silent for a moment, and finally pulled over.

Ji Wan got out of the car and walked into the flower shop, while Chi Lin stayed in the car to make a phone call.

"Miss Ji. Long time no see." The florist's wife came forward warmly. "What flowers would you like today? Still the usual pink roses?"

Ji Wan looked around and his eyes fell on a bouquet of blue roses. "No, I want that bouquet of blue roses today."

The proprietress looked at her in surprise. "Blue roses? This is not your usual style."

Ji Wan smiled slightly and said, "I bought it for myself."

"For yourself?" The proprietress was even more puzzled, but she quickly reacted and expertly wrapped the bouquet. "Blue roses represent mystery and impossible miracles. I hope they bring you good luck."

"Thank you." Ji Wan paid the money and walked out of the flower shop holding the bouquet.

Chi Lin was leaning against the car waiting for her. When he saw Lan Meigui, his brows furrowed.

He asked, a hint of unnaturalness in his tone.

"When did you start liking blue?"

Ji Wan didn't answer and got into the car.

Chi Lin shook his head, returned to the driver's seat and restarted the car.

Twenty minutes later, the car drove into the merchant's old house.

This is a typical Chinese courtyard with a large area and shaded by green trees, showing the owner's wealth and taste.

Ji Wan noticed that there was a familiar car parked at the door.

It belongs to Chi Wenyan.

The man's Cullinan has been repaired and there are no signs of the previous collision.

"He's here too?" Ji Wan couldn't help but ask.

Chi Lin followed her gaze, his expression darkening a bit, "It seems so."

He parked the car and suddenly said before turning off the engine, "Remember our agreement. In front of our families, we are still a loving couple."

Ji Wan nodded coldly, "I know what to do."

After getting off the car, Chi Lin suddenly grabbed Ji Wan's hand with such force that it almost hurt her.

"You're going to put on a full show, aren't you?" Chi Lin whispered in her ear with a gentle smile on his face, as if he was saying sweet words to his wife.

Ji Wan tried to break free, but Chi Lin held on tighter.
