Chapter 451 Perfect Match
Ji Wan took a deep breath, suppressed the complicated emotions surging in his heart, and said in a dry voice: "Okay, thank you. Please follow me."
Chi Wenyan frowned and was about to say something when Ji Wan looked at him. The pleading and resolute look in his eyes made all the words stuck in his throat. He knew that for Nian Nian, Ji Wan was willing to grasp any possibility.
Su Jiujiu raised the corners of her lips, revealing an ambiguous smile, and followed Ji Wan to the matching registration office.
The wait felt like a century. Ji Wan and Chi Wenyan sat on a bench in the corridor, the air heavy and suffocating. Su Jiujiu sat quietly to the side, occasionally glancing towards the ward with a deep gaze.
Finally, the nurse came out with the report.
"Ms. Su Jiujiu's matching results are out."
Ji Wan and Chi Wenyan stood up almost at the same time, their heartbeats so fast that they seemed to be about to burst through their chests.
The nurse's voice was filled with surprise. "It's a perfect match! A perfect match at high resolution!"
These words were like a thunderclap, splitting the haze that shrouded Ji Wan's heart, and like a flash of lightning, illuminating the abyss of despair.
"A perfect match?!" Ji Wan cried out, tears blurring her vision. The overwhelming joy overwhelmed her defenses, and she covered her mouth, choking and letting out a stifled cry.
Chi Wenyan was also stunned, and then he was filled with incredible surprise.
He looked at Su Jiujiu with a complicated look.
Su Jiujiu's face didn't show much expression, she just nodded lightly: "That's good."
Ji Wan walked up to Su Jiujiu. Despite all the grudges she had towards her, she only felt gratitude and a hint of indescribable guilt. She didn't even dare to look at Chi Wenyan's face.
"Ms. Su, thank you so much!" Ji Wan's voice was hoarse from crying. She tried to force a sincere smile. "You are Nian Nian's savior. I don't know how to thank you."
Su Jiujiu seemed not to hear Ji Wan's words. She walked past Ji Wan and went straight to Chi Wenyan.
"Boss Chi," Su Jiujiu's voice was soft, yet filled with an unquestionable firmness, "Let's talk."
Chi Wenyan looked at her, and the temperature around him dropped again. He knew that things would not be that simple.
Su Jiujiu ignored Ji Wan's shocked look, nor the curious looks of the medical staff next to her. She just looked at Chi Wenyan steadily and spoke word by word.
"I can donate bone marrow. But I have a condition. Mr. Chi, if you want to save your daughter, you have to make a choice. Do you want the child or your wife?"
Su Jiujiu's words were like poisoned ice cones, piercing the ears of everyone present.
The color on Ji Wan's face instantly faded. She looked at Su Jiujiu in disbelief, her body shaking uncontrollably. This woman, how dare she?
How can you threaten Nian Nian's life at this time?
A huge amount of anger and humiliation surged in her heart, almost drowning her.
Chi Wenyan's body was chilled even more than before. A terrifying storm surged in his deep black eyes. He stared at Su Jiujiu, and every word seemed to be squeezed out from between his teeth, with bone-chilling coldness and disgust. "Su Jiujiu, can you say it again?"
His voice was not loud, but it carried a heart-pounding sense of oppression, as if he could tear the ungrateful woman in front of him to pieces in the next second.
Su Jiujiu met his murderous gaze, her heart lurching, but her face remained eerily calm. She raised her chin slightly and repeated, "I'm saying, I can donate bone marrow, but Mr. Chi must divorce Ji Wan and marry me. It's your daughter's life, or this woman's. Mr. Chi, choose one."
“Bang!”
The crisp sound of slapping suddenly rang out in the silent corridor!
Ji Wan rushed forward and slapped Su Jiujiu with all her strength. Her hands were shaking, her eyes were red, and her voice was hoarse but determined: "Su Jiujiu! You bastard! How can you be so vicious! You threaten us with my daughter's life!"
Su Jiujiu was hit so hard that her head tilted to one side, and five fingerprints quickly appeared on her fair cheek. She slowly turned her head back, looking at Ji Wan with cold eyes, but a hint of sarcasm appeared at the corner of her mouth. "Mrs. Chi, you hit me? What qualifications do you have to hit me? Now, your daughter's life is in my hands."
"You--!" Ji Wan was so angry that his whole body was shaking, and tears were streaming down his face uncontrollably.
"Enough!" Chi Wenyan suddenly pulled Ji Wan behind him to protect him, his eyes shooting at Su Jiujiu like a sharp knife, "Put away your dirty offers! Nian Nian's life is not yours to trade!"
His voice was firm and decisive, without a trace of hesitation. "You're not the only one who needs a bone marrow match. The China Bone Marrow Bank is so large, with so many people around the world. I don't believe we can't find another successful match! Even if the hope is slim, I will never trade my marriage and my wife for it. You don't deserve it!"
Chi Wenyan's words were powerful, and every word was full of power and protection for Ji Wan.
Ji Wan stared blankly at the man standing in front of her, tears blurring her vision as her heart churned with indescribable emotions. It was a feeling of being touched and at peace, but also a mixture of fear and panic about her daughter's condition.
The calmness on Su Jiujiu's face finally showed a crack.
She didn't expect Chi Wenyan to refuse so bluntly and without leaving any room for negotiation.
She had imagined his anger, his struggle, and even his compromise, but she had never expected such a complete and insulting rejection.
"Chi Wenyan!" Su Jiujiu's voice rose, a hint of barely perceptible panic in it. "Don't forget, Nian Nian can't wait. You know better than me how difficult it is to find a high-resolution, perfect match. Do you really want to gamble your daughter's life on that tiny possibility for this woman?!"
Chi Wenyan sneered, the contempt in his eyes almost overflowing: "Bet? There is no need to use such despicable means to save my daughter, Chi Wenyan. Su Jiujiu, who do you think you are? A savior? Without you, my daughter still has hope, and you can get out now!"
The determination and disgust in his tone hit Su Jiu's heart like a heavy hammer. She looked at Chi Wenyan protecting Ji Wan, and the coldness in his eyes towards her. A strong sense of unwillingness and jealousy almost swallowed her.
She had been planning for so long and had finally waited for this opportunity, how could she just give up like that?
Su Jiujiu took a deep breath, suppressing the turmoil in her heart. Her eyes flickered a few times, and her tone suddenly softened, with a hint of subtle grievance and concession: "Okay, Chi Wenyan, you are so cruel."
She paused, her eyes falling on Chi Wenyan again, her eyes complex and paranoid: "Since you care about her so much, I don't need that status. I just want you. As long as you promise to stay by my side after I donate my bone marrow, even if it's only temporarily, as long as you promise to accompany me..."
