She had planned this all along. Setting herself up against him was just the first step. The next step was to hide completely so that he couldn't find her.
"Keep investigating. You'll find her even if you have to dig three feet underground!" Chi Wenyan almost roared out these words with gritted teeth, each word filled with deep hatred.
He hung up the phone, turned around, and strode out of the ward. He exuded a dangerous aura, and wherever he passed, medical staff and patients' families subconsciously avoided him.
Just as he walked into the hall, a familiar figure came into view.
This person was none other than Ji Wan.
She was standing in front of the service desk, seemingly asking something.

She took a deep breath, forced herself to stand up, grabbed her car keys, and rushed out the door.
When Zhao Xiyue came to Chi Wenyan's office, she was overwhelmed by a strong sense of oppression.
Chi Wenyan was standing in front of the floor-to-ceiling window with his back to the door, and the aura emanating from him was as cold as ice and snow in the winter.
He didn't turn around, but Zhao Xiyue could feel the invisible anger, stronger than any time before.
She took a deep breath and tried to keep her voice calm: "Chi Wenyan."

The corner of his mouth curled up in a mocking arc, as if he was watching a huge joke.
"Zhao Xiyue? How dare you show up in front of me?"
His voice was low, but it hit Zhao Xiyue's heart like a sledgehammer.
Zhao Xiyue's face turned pale instantly. She knew this would happen, but hearing it with her own ears, her heart still shrank. She suppressed the pain in her heart and said, "Chi Wenyan, I need your help."
Chi Wenyan strode to the desk, put his hands on the table, leaned forward slightly, his eyes became sharper, as if he wanted to tear Zhao Xiyue apart.
"Help? You come to me for help? Zhao Xiyue, have you forgotten who you are? Have you forgotten what you did? Have you forgotten what you and Su Jiujiu did to me?"
Every word that came out of the man's mouth was as cold as a knife.
Zhao Xiyue's heart felt like it was being roasted on fire and then doused in ice water.
She explained anxiously, "Su Jiujiu is missing and I can't contact her. Nian Nian's surgery is imminent and she can't wait any longer."
Chi Wenyan suddenly stood up, and his sneer echoed throughout the office.
"Su Jiujiu is missing? Haha, isn't she very capable? She plotted against me, walked away, and now she's missing again? Does she think she can get away with everything this way? What does it have to do with me?"
