Chapter 464 Dizziness

Chapter 464 Dizziness

"Wanwan."

He no longer cared about anything else and slammed the bedroom door open like a madman.

Empty.

There was no one inside.

The cold air hit him in the face. There were only messy bedding on the bed and traces of her tears on the floor. But the only thing missing was the figure that made him worried.

His eyes snapped to the terrace.

The glass door was ajar, letting in the night wind, which made the curtains rustle.

"Wanwan."

Chi Wenyan let out a shrill roar and rushed towards the terrace like a madman.

The night wind was howling, the moonlight was cold, the terrace was empty, and there was no trace of Ji Wan.

His legs went weak and he fell heavily to his knees on the cold terrace floor. His heart felt like it was being gripped by an invisible hand, and the pain was so severe that he couldn't breathe.

"No, no!" he muttered to himself, his eyes unfocused. He stretched out his hand as if trying to grab something, but only got a handful of cold air.

She left.

She really left.

Taking with her all her hatred for him, she completely disappeared from his world.

"ah."

Chi Wenyan let out a desperate roar towards the sky. The voice was filled with endless pain and regret, echoing in the silent night sky for a long time.

What if he had been more cautious?

It’s a pity that there would be no ifs.

It also happened.

The cold night wind blew into her lungs, but Ji Wan felt incredibly clear-headed. She hailed a taxi and used her remaining cash to book a room at the most expensive five-star hotel in the city center.

The luxuriousness of the presidential suite was in stark contrast to her current state of disgrace. She flung herself heavily onto the soft bed, her mind uncontrollably flooded with images of Chi Wenyan and Su Jiujiu tumbling about in bed. The word "dirty" was etched on her heart like a brand, burning with pain with every breath.

That happened on our wedding anniversary.

Oh, how ironic! On the day when she was happily preparing to celebrate, he was making love with another woman in their marital chamber!

My heart felt like it was being cut back and forth by countless blunt knives, bleeding profusely.

She picked up the phone and, in a hoarse, gravelly voice, ordered room service and a bottle of the most expensive red wine in the hotel.

Soon, the waiter brought the red wine. Ji Wan pulled out the cork directly, without even using a goblet, and just took a big gulp from the bottle.

The wine went down her throat, spicy and bitter, just like her mood at the moment.

Drink after drink, she tried to numb herself with alcohol, to forget those unbearable scenes and the betrayal that was deep in her bones.

Gradually, her vision began to blur and her mind became dizzy. She curled up on the sofa, letting her tears slide silently, mixing with the wine stains on her lips, bitter and astringent.

"Knock, knock, knock."

There was a sudden knock on the door.

Ji Wan shook his heavy head and barely managed to stand up from the sofa. Who was it? Someone was knocking on the door so late at night. ...

She held onto the wall and moved step by step to the door, feeling dizzy.

She opened the heavy door almost instinctively.

Standing outside the door was a tall man with deep eyebrows and eyes and outstanding temperament.

Ji Wan only had time to see that he was wearing a well-tailored dark uniform with an exquisite flying wing badge pinned on his chest before his vision suddenly went dark and his body fell forward limply.

"careful!"

The man's low voice was filled with a hint of surprise. He quickly stretched out his arms and caught her limp body steadily.

Ji Wan completely lost consciousness and fell into a warm yet unfamiliar embrace.

The man frowned slightly as he looked at the pale, lifeless woman in his arms. He, Fu Chen, the youngest captain of One World Airlines, had just finished a transoceanic flight and had never expected to encounter such an accident in the hotel corridor.

I don’t know how much time has passed.

The pungent smell of disinfectant penetrated into his nose, accompanied by the regular ticking sound of some instrument, waking Ji Wan from his chaos.

She struggled to open her heavy eyelids, and what came into view was a snow-white ceiling and an IV bag hanging above the bed, slowly dripping liquid.

My head hurts, and my throat feels so dry it feels like it's on fire.

Where is she...?

Scattered fragments of memory flooded into my mind.

The luxurious presidential suite, the piercing red wine, the deafening music, then a blurry figure of a man, and the moment when he fell uncontrollably.

"Are you awake?"

A deep and pleasant male voice sounded in the quiet ward, with a hint of imperceptible concern.

Ji Wan turned his head suddenly, his heart tightened, and his vigilance instantly reached full blast.

Not far from the bed, stood a man.

He was wearing a neatly ironed white shirt with the cuffs casually rolled up to his forearms, revealing his strong and muscular figure.

The morning light filtered through the gaps in the blinds, casting dappled shadows on his chiseled profile. His deep eyes were gazing at her calmly.

It's him! The man in uniform from last night!

"Who are you?" Ji Wan's voice was hoarse and dry, filled with confusion and vigilance after waking up. "Why am I here?"

The man walked to the bed with his long legs, his eyes fell on her pale face, his brows frowned almost imperceptibly, and then relaxed.

"Fu Chen." He opened his thin lips slightly, his voice still that magnetic and steady. "Last night at the hotel, Miss Ji, the music in your room was a bit too loud. I came back from the flight and stayed next door to you, so I wanted to go over and remind you."

He paused and continued to explain, "As soon as I knocked on the door, you fainted. Seeing that you were not in good condition, I took it upon myself to send you to the hospital. The doctor said that you had acute alcohol poisoning, coupled with emotional excitement, which caused you to faint."

So that's how it is.

The image of himself losing control and getting drunk flashed through Ji Wan's mind, and an embarrassed blush involuntarily appeared on his cheeks.

She actually lost her composure in front of strangers.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Fu, for causing you trouble." She struggled to sit up, but found that her whole body was sore and weak.

Fu Chen reached out and gently placed a pillow behind her back so that she could sit more comfortably.

His fingertips accidentally brushed against her arm, leaving a slightly cool touch that made Ji Wan's heart tremble inexplicably.

"Thank you, Mr. Fu." Ji Wan lowered his eyelids and spoke in a much softer voice, "I'm really sorry for disturbing your rest last night."

"It's just a small favor." Fu Chen's tone didn't contain much emotion. He just said calmly, "The doctor said you need to be observed for a while. Rest well."

Ji Wan nodded, a mixture of emotions welling up in her heart. In this cold and hopeless moment, this stranger's kindness was like a ray of weak sunlight, shining into her heart that was almost swallowed by darkness.

Chi Wenyan, this name appeared again, and my heart began to ache again.
