Chapter 471 Return to the Hospital

Chapter 471 Return to the Hospital

Although drops of blood oozed out, he felt no pain at all, not even one ten-thousandth of the pain in his heart.

Ji Wan walked out of the restaurant, hailed a taxi, and went straight back to the hospital.

She needs to be discharged from the hospital.

In the doctor's office, the attending physician looked at her examination report and frowned slightly. "Ms. Ji, you are still very weak. Your previous emotional fluctuations have caused considerable damage to your body. I suggest that you stay in the hospital for a few more days for observation, or at least have your family come to pick you up so that you can be taken care of when you return home."

A faint but distant smile appeared on Ji Wan's pale face: "Thank you for your concern, doctor. I know my body well, and there's nothing serious wrong with me. As for my family..."

She paused, a trace of imperceptible sadness flashed across her eyes, "I can do it alone."

The doctor wanted to persuade him again, but seeing Ji Wan's calm yet resolute eyes, he swallowed the words that were on the tip of his tongue. He sighed, "Okay, since you insist, here are your discharge orders. When you go back, make sure to rest well, take your medicine on time, avoid getting too excited, and return to the hospital for a checkup immediately if you feel any discomfort."

"I will, thank you." Ji Wan took the discharge form, thanked him politely, then turned and left the doctor's office.

After completing all the formalities alone, Ji Wan walked out of the hospital gate carrying a simple luggage bag.

The sunlight was a little dazzling, so she squinted her eyes slightly and took a deep breath of the free air.

Without Chi Wenyan and the Chi family, she felt relieved.

She did not go home. She did not want to set foot in the place full of memories of her and Chi Wenyan. She found a hotel with a nice environment in the city center and stayed there temporarily.

Standing in front of the French window of the hotel room, looking at the bustling scene of traffic downstairs, Ji Wan's heart was at peace. She needed to find a new place to live and then start a new life.

She wants to live for herself.

At this moment, the cell phone in the bag suddenly rang, breaking the silence in the room.

Ji Wan took out his cell phone and the words "Fu Chen" were flashing on the screen.

She hesitated for a moment, but still pressed the answer button.

"Hello?"

"Ji Wan, it's me, Fu Chen." A man's gentle and magnetic voice came from the other end of the phone, with a hint of subtle concern. "Are you... okay now? Do you have time? I'd like to invite you to have a simple meal together."

"Hello?" Ji Wan's voice was a little hoarse from just waking up, but he quickly regained his composure.

"Ji Wan, it's me, Fu Chen." A man's gentle and magnetic voice came from the other end of the phone, with a hint of subtle concern. "Are you... okay now? Do you have time? I'd like to invite you to have a simple meal together."

Ji Wan's fingers tightened around the phone. Fu Chen...it was Fu Chen who had helped her when she was in the most difficult time.

She will always remember this kindness.

"I'm fine, thank you for your concern." Ji Wan's voice was sincere. "Fu Chen, I was just looking for an opportunity to thank you. You helped me a lot."

"Don't be so polite." Fu Chen chuckled, his voice even softer, "I'm glad you're okay. Since it's convenient for you, let's make an appointment. You just got discharged from the hospital, so it's not convenient for you to go too far. I'll come to find you."

Ji Wan did not refuse Fu Chen's kindness and told him the address of his hotel.

Half an hour later, Fu Chen's car stopped at the hotel entrance on time. Ji Wan was already waiting downstairs.

She was wearing a simple white dress today. Although her face was still a little pale, her eyes were clear and firm, and her whole body exuded a kind of tranquility, as if she had been reborn from the ashes. "Sorry to have kept you waiting." Fu Chen got out of the car and walked quickly to her. His eyes lingered on her face for a moment, and after confirming that she was in good condition, he breathed a sigh of relief.

"No, I just came down too." Ji Wan shook his head and gave him a faint smile.

Fu Chen opened the car door for her and waited for her to sit down before returning to the driver's seat. The car drove away from the hotel smoothly.

"What do you want to eat? Or do you want me to arrange it?" Fu Chen asked.

"You arrange it, I'm not picky." Ji Wan said.

Fu Chen took her to an elegant restaurant. After they sat down, Ji Wan spoke again: "Fu Chen, if you hadn't shown up in time that day at the hotel hospital, I don't know what would have happened. You saved me."

Fu Chen poured her a glass of warm water, his eyes serious: "Ji Wan, you are too polite. Anyone with a conscience would take action when seeing that kind of situation. Besides, I am a very conscientious person and I am a friend."

This person is so good, friend... The word "friend" made Ji Wan's heart flow with warmth. After experiencing betrayal and hurt, this pure help and friendship seemed particularly precious.

"Even so, I am still very grateful to you." Ji Wan said.

Fu Chen looked at her. After a moment, he put down the water cup in his hand, leaned forward slightly, and said in a voice with a hint of mysterious temptation: "Since you want to thank me so much, why not accept my invitation?"

Ji Wan was slightly startled: "What invitation?"

"Would you like to see this city from a different perspective?" Fu Chen's lips curled up in a confident arc, "I'll take you to experience it. I guarantee it will be something you've never experienced before."

Ji Wan looked at him, a hint of curiosity flashing in his eyes: "What is it?"

"You'll know when you get there." Fu Chen kept it a secret, but the light in his eyes made Ji Wan feel a strong attraction.

After everything she's been through, Ji Wan longs for change and new experiences. She needs to break free from the shackles of the past.

"Okay." She nodded. "I accept your invitation."

Fu Chen's smile became even brighter: "Then let's go after dinner."

After lunch, Fu Chen did not take her to the usual places, but drove to a private helipad in the suburbs.

Ji Wan looked at the empty space in front of him and the streamlined helicopter parked in the middle, a hint of surprise flashing in his eyes.

"This is……"

"My helicopter." Fu Chen walked forward, opened the cabin door, turned back to look at Ji Wan, his eyes full of invitation, "I'll fly it myself."

Ji Wan's heart skipped a beat. She had never imagined she would have the opportunity to ride in a helicopter, and that the pilot would be Fu Chen. This was completely beyond her comprehension.

"You...you can fly a helicopter?" Ji Wan's voice was filled with disbelief.

"It's just a little hobby." Fu Chen smiled and extended his hand to her, "Come on, go up and try it."

Ji Wan took a deep breath, suppressed her surprise, took Fu Chen's outstretched hand, and boarded the helicopter. The cabin wasn't large, but it was very comfortable. Fu Chen helped her fasten her seat belt, then sat in the driver's seat and began the pre-takeoff inspection.

As the propeller slowly turned, the sound gradually became louder and the fuselage began to vibrate slightly.

Ji Wan felt a little nervous, but more of a sense of novelty and anticipation.

The helicopter slowly took off, and the scenery on the ground quickly became smaller.

As we climbed higher, the entire city unfolded before our eyes: the skyscrapers looked like building blocks, the winding river resembled a ribbon, and the traffic flowed like slowly crawling ants.

Ji Wan's eyes widened. She pressed herself against the window, overlooking the city where she had lived for many years.
