Chapter 5 Malicious Difficulties

Chapter 5 Malicious Difficulties

Ji Wan chuckled lightly, suppressing his anger, "I walked in openly with an invitation, why can't I come?"

"Wanwan, that's not what I meant. Chi Wenyan is the prince of the Beijing circle and is not so easy to get along with. If you accidentally say the wrong thing and offend someone, I can't help you."

Ji Wan leaned against the flower wall, a look of disdain in his eyes, "You and Chi Wenyan are good brothers. I believe that after he knows our relationship, he won't be too harsh on me even if I said something wrong."

"Wanwan, we agreed on a secret marriage, you can't do anything rash!" Zhou Zechuan lowered his voice and at the same time looked around to see if there was anyone around.

"Zechuan, how could I possibly do something rash? I just want to help you."

"I feel bad for you staying up late to work overtime every day. Why don't you let me go to work at Ji's? That way I can help you anytime."

Seeing that Zhou Zechuan was still hypocritical, Ji Wan endured the discomfort and spoke softly.

She couldn't let him notice anything, so her tone remained the same as before.

Zhou Zechuan frowned slightly, and apart from being unhappy, he didn't notice anything unusual. "Wanwan, you haven't worked in the past two years. What can you do at Ji's? Just stay home. I will take good care of Ji's for you."

Ji Wan shook her head and whispered softly, "Zechuan, after all, the Ji family was left by my parents. I know you don't want me to go because you feel bad for me, but I also want to do something for them. Can't you fulfill this little wish of mine?"

"How could that be? I'm just afraid of tiring you out. If you really want to go, I'll come down and make arrangements for you. It's getting late, so I'll have someone take you back first." Zhou Zechuan was afraid of attracting other people's attention, so he had to pretend to agree.

"It's a rare opportunity to attend a banquet, so I don't want to go back so early. You go and do your work, I'll have some fun by myself." Ji Wan hadn't achieved his goal today, so it was impossible for him to go home just because of Zhou Zechuan's words. He quickly turned around and went back to the banquet venue.

Zhou Zechuan wanted to stop them, but he heard several people talking behind him. He was worried that his relationship with Ji Wan would be discovered, so he had to give up.

Seeing that Zhou Zechuan didn't catch up, Ji Wan sneered, tidied her hair and makeup, and walked towards Feng Hao who was not far away in a swaying manner.

"Brother Fenghao, thank you for inviting me to the banquet today." Ji Wan bowed slightly to express his gratitude.

Feng Hao felt a little embarrassed for a moment after being thanked so solemnly. He glanced at Chi Wenyan beside him. It was not his decision to invite Ji Wan.

Chi Wenyan, who was standing next to him, shook the red wine glass in his hand and looked at Ji Wan with a meaningful look.

The little fox started to act.

Ji Wan was just about to get closer to Feng Hao and take the opportunity to see if he could get close to Chi Wenyan, when he saw a few sloppy young men walking over with wine glasses in their hands.

"Today is Brother Chi's welcoming banquet. It would be a bit unreasonable for Miss Ji not to express her gratitude."

"Yeah, you really don't take Brother Chi seriously."

"If you make Brother Chi angry, the consequences will be serious."

Ji Wan was slightly angry at having his good time interrupted, and looked at the men with unfriendly eyes.

"So what do you want?"

The young man who spoke first raised the corner of his lips in a wicked manner, "I heard that the eldest daughter of the Ji family is an extraordinary pianist. If you can play a song in public to make Brother Chi happy, I will forgive you this time."

Those who played the piano to entertain the party were all performers. No decent young lady would play the piano for fun in public, as that would be a loss of face.

Ji Wan knew that these young masters were deliberately trying to humiliate him.

"What if I don't agree?"

"Don't agree? Then go upstairs and have a good talk with the brothers."

"Yes, you have to tell me what you are dissatisfied with our Brother Chi, or whether you think our Brother Chi is not worthy of listening to your piano."

"Hahaha, if you don't speak well, we brothers won't let you go..."
