Chapter 540 Revenge

Chapter 540 Revenge

In the next few days, Nian Nian's health improved a lot, she was in high spirits, and her little face regained its rosy complexion.

The heavy stone in Ji Wan's heart finally moved a little.

Chi Wenyan kept his promise and chose a sunny weekend, and the family of four drove to "Happy Valley".

The two little guys, Yaoyao and Nian Nian, were laughing excitedly all the way, with their little heads leaning against the car windows, full of curiosity about the outside world.

"Dad, Mom, I want to ride that roller coaster." Yaoyao clenched his little fists and looked at Chi Wenyan with sparkling eyes.

As time flies, the two children are already over two years old.

They are exceptionally intelligent and much more mature than their peers.

Nian Nian hugged Ji Wan's arm and said softly, "Mom, I want to ride the carousel and eat big marshmallows."

Ji Wan looked at the two children's innocent smiles, and the lingering uneasiness in her heart seemed to be dispelled a little by the sunshine. She reached out and pinched Nian Nian's nose. "Okay, I'll satisfy you, our little princess."

Chi Wenyan watched the interaction between the mother and her two children in the rearview mirror, and a gentle curve unconsciously appeared at the corners of his lips.

Happy Valley was bustling with people and laughter could be heard everywhere.

The appearance of this family of four undoubtedly became a beautiful landscape.

Chi Wenyan has a tall and straight figure and is extraordinarily handsome. Even in casual clothes, he cannot hide his noble temperament.

Ji Wan was beautiful, her eyes radiating the tenderness of a new mother. She had dressed up to look youthful and beautiful, adding to her allure. Yaoyao and Niannian, one handsome and the other petite, had perfectly inherited their parents' genes. Their delicate, delicate appearances drew glances from passersby, their eyes filled with amazement and envy.

"Wow, that family is so good looking."

"Yeah, yeah, those two babies are so cute, like dolls."

"The men are handsome and the women are beautiful, it's like a fairy tale family."

The sound of small discussions reached his ears, and Ji Wan lowered his head a little embarrassedly, his cheeks slightly flushed.

Chi Wenyan, however, was calm and composed. He held Yaoyao's hand with one hand and naturally put his other hand around Ji Wan's waist, bringing her closer to him. He smiled and whispered in her ear, "Look, we are the focus."

Ji Wan glared at him, but a smile appeared on his brows.

They first accompanied Nian Nian to ride the carousel that she had longed for.

Accompanied by melodious music, the gorgeous wooden horse slowly rose and fell. Nian Nian sat on the exquisite white wooden horse with a bright smile on her little face. She kept waving at Ji Wan and Chi Wenyan.

Ji Wan stood outside the fence, looking at his daughter's happy face, and the haze in his eyes was completely melted by the warm sun.

She took out her cell phone and recorded this heartwarming moment.

"Mom, come up and play too." Nian Nian shouted loudly.

Ji Wan smiled and shook her head: "Just let Mom watch over you."

Chi Wenyan stood beside her, looking at her gently: "You look beautiful when you smile."

Ji Wan's heart moved and she turned to look at him. In the sunlight, her figure was clearly reflected in his deep eyes. His concentration and affection made her lose her mind for a moment.

The shadow of divorce, Su Jiujiu's distorted face, and the inexplicable heart palpitations all seemed to become distant at this moment.

"Wen Yan," she said softly, with a barely perceptible softness in her voice, "Thank you."

Chi Wenyan raised his eyebrows: "Thank me for what?"

"Thank you for taking us out to play." And thank you for trying so hard to make me happy.

He reached out and gently brushed away a strand of hair from her cheek. The warm touch of his fingertips made Ji Wan's heart skip a beat.

"Silly boy, we are a family."

Yaoyao was tugging at Chi Wenyan's clothes, looking up at his little face, with a hint of complaint and expectation in his tone: "Dad, when are we going to go have some fun? The carousel is too childish."

Chi Wenyan laughed and rubbed his head: "Okay, when sister has had enough fun, daddy will take you to challenge the most exciting one."

The family had a blast in the amusement park, with everything from carousels to bumper cars to some gentle rides suitable for younger children. The children's laughter filled the entire afternoon like silver bells.

Chi Wenyan showed amazing physical strength. Sometimes he held Nian Nian in his arms, and sometimes he carried Yao Yao on his shoulders. The two children were crawling all over him, but he never got tired of it. Fine beads of sweat oozed from his forehead, but his smile was particularly bright.

Ji Wan watched the three of them, father and son, playing and fighting, with a gentle smile on his face.

She bought marshmallows and ice cream and fed them carefully to the two little ones.

As the sun sets, the afterglow paints the entire amusement park with a warm golden hue.

"Mom, I'm so happy today." Nian Nian snuggled in Ji Wan's arms, with a satisfied blush on her little face.

Yaoyao also nodded vigorously: "Me too. Dad, can we come again next time?"

"Okay, as long as you are good and obedient, mom and dad will take you out to play often." Chi Wenyan promised.

As Ji Wan looked at the warm and harmonious scene before her, the ominous premonition in her heart seemed to be just an illusion. Perhaps, she was really too sensitive and overthinking things.

However, just when she completely relaxed her mind, the phone in her pocket suddenly vibrated, and an unfamiliar number popped up on the screen.

Her heart suddenly jumped for no apparent reason, and the uneasiness that had just been suppressed suddenly raised its head again like a disturbed poisonous snake.

Ji Wan took a deep breath, his fingertips trembling slightly as he swiped the answer button and put the phone to his ear. "Hello?"

There was dead silence on the other end of the phone, with only the crackling sound of electricity, like a beast sharpening its claws in the dark.

"Hello? Who is this?" Ji Wan's heart was in her throat. The feeling of uneasiness wrapped around her like a vine, making it almost impossible for her to breathe.

“…”

Still silence.

Just when Ji Wan's patience ran out and he was about to hang up, a very light sound came from the receiver, like a sigh, or a mocking sneer, and then the phone was abruptly hung up.

“Beep…beep…beep…”

The busy tone came shrilly.

Ji Wan's knuckles turned white as he held the phone, and his face instantly turned pale.

This inexplicable phone call was like a huge rock thrown into her heart which had just calmed down, stirring up thousands of waves.

"What's wrong? Wanwan, who's calling?" Chi Wenyan keenly sensed that something was wrong with her. He placed Yaoyao firmly on the ground, reached out to support her shoulders, and asked with concern. The warmth from his palm came through the thin fabric, but it couldn't dispel the chill in Ji Wan's heart.

Ji Wan forced a smile and shook his head: "Nothing, maybe it was a wrong number."

She didn't want her anxiety to affect the good mood of the children and Chi Wenyan at the moment.
