Chapter 569 Robot Project

Chapter 569 Robot Project

"AI? Just sounds like a money-burning thing! This crap of yours is a bottomless pit. Anyone who invests in it is a fool!"

After saying that, he straightened his tie and walked into the building without looking back.

A look of humiliation and embarrassment flashed across the face of the man named Feng Lou, but he quickly took a deep breath, clenched the project book in his hand, and turned to the next white-collar worker passing by.

"Hello, excuse me, are you interested in learning about the AI intelligence project?"

Passersby waved their hands and walked away quickly as if they were avoiding the plague.

After hitting the wall repeatedly, Feng Lou's shoulders slumped. He leaned against the cold wall, his forehead covered with sweat, his eyes filled with fatigue and unwillingness.

Ji Wan was standing not far away, watching the scene quietly.

This man named Feng Lou reminded her of herself yesterday. She could empathize with the feeling of powerlessness of being unappreciated and running into obstacles everywhere.

Just when Feng Lou was about to give up and leave, he saw Ji Wan walking towards the gate.

A faint hope instantly ignited in his eyes, like a drowning man grabbing the last straw. He rushed forward and blocked Ji Wan's way.

"Hello, ma'am!"

His voice was a little hoarse from nervousness.

"My name is Feng Lou. I have a project about AI robots. Would you...would you be willing to give me three minutes? Just three minutes!"

Ji Wan stopped and looked at his project book which was slightly deformed by being squeezed.

The cover reads in bold black letters: "Companion Plan - AI Emotional Interaction Robot".

AI robot?

A hint of interest flashed across Ji Wan's eyes.

Isn't this the challenging and forward-looking project she has been looking for?

What Chi Wenyan can give her is an S-level project that is guaranteed to make a profit.

But those were not discovered by Ji Wan herself.

She looked at Feng Lou's eyes, which were bloodshot but full of paranoia and desire.

"Do you think your project can succeed?" Ji Wan asked calmly.

Feng Lou was taken aback by the question, then nodded vigorously and said firmly, "Yes! I guarantee it with everything I have!"

Ji Wan's lips curled up slightly.

"good."

She was concise and to the point.

"Come with me to my office and we'll talk in detail."

Ji Wan's studio is located on the top floor of CBD, and the floor-to-ceiling windows offer a panoramic view of the bustling city.

When the assistant saw Ji Wan leading in a shabby-dressed, uneasy-looking man, surprise flashed in his eyes, but he still greeted him professionally.

"Mr. Ji."

"Pour two cups of coffee in." Ji Wan took off his coat, casually put it on the sofa, and walked straight to the leather chair in the main seat.

Feng Lou stood there awkwardly, not knowing where to put his hands and feet.

This office was larger than the entire house he rented and so luxurious that it made him dizzy.

He held the project book tightly in his arms, which was almost all his belongings and dignity.

"Sit down." Ji Wan's voice was cold, but it carried an unquestionable command.

Feng Lou then pulled out the chair opposite him and sat down carefully, daring to sit only halfway.

Ji Wan folded his hands, raised his chin slightly, and looked at him sharply.

"Now, you can begin. Remember, you only have one chance to impress me."

Feng Lou was almost suffocated by her powerful aura. He swallowed, forced himself to calm down, and opened the project book that was slightly wrinkled by sweat.

"Mr. Ji, I...my project is called 'Companion'."

His voice was still a little dry, but when he mentioned his project, his eyes lit up with a burning gleam.

"In today's fast-paced society, the distance between people is growing ever wider. Empty-nest elderly people, young people living alone, people with social anxiety... countless people are suffering from loneliness. What they need is not a cold machine, but a 'friend' who can listen to them and understand their emotions!"

His speech speed became faster and faster, and his emotions became more and more excited, and his original nervousness and awkwardness were swept away.

"My 'companion' is equipped with an 'empathy' algorithm independently developed by our team. It can analyze the user's emotional state through voice, tone, and even micro-expressions! It will learn and evolve, and will become the user's unique soul mate!"

He stood up excitedly and paced back and forth in the office, gesturing with his hands.

"It's more than just a smart speaker, more than a tool that only executes commands! It can smile with you when you're happy, and give you a 'virtual' hug when you're sad! It can remember all your preferences and even understand you better than you do yourself!"

Ji Wan listened quietly, tapping the table with his fingers from time to time, making a crisp sound.

After he finished speaking, the office fell into a long silence.

Feng Lou's passion slowly cooled down, and uneasiness crept into his heart again. He looked at Ji Wan nervously, waiting for the final judgment.

“That’s a good idea.”

Ji Wan finally spoke, his voice expressing neither joy nor anger.

"But ideas alone are worthless in this circle."

She leaned forward, her eyes like knives, piercing Feng Lou's heart.

"What are your technological barriers? How do you claim your so-called 'empathy' algorithm is unique? With so many companies working on large-scale models, how do you stand out?"

"Also, money. AI is the most expensive industry. Where's your team? Where's your server? Where's your startup capital coming from? Don't tell me you're going to make a killing with just this project."

A series of questions, each one hitting the nail on the head.

Feng Lou's face flushed red, and the veins on his forehead popped out.

He was stunned by the question.

These problems were also the reasons why all previous investors rejected him.

Looking at his embarrassed look, Ji Wan's eyes did not show any contempt, but rather a hint of amusement.

"Answer me."

Feng Lou took a deep breath, as if he had made up his mind. He took out a worn laptop from his briefcase and clumsily connected it to the office projector.

The screen lit up and a simple dialog box appeared.

"This is 'Little Companion', my first prototype." Feng Lou's voice trembled. "It doesn't have a fancy shell, just a core."

He said to the computer: "My dear, I am very sad today."

A line of words slowly appeared on the screen: "Feng Lou, I detect that your voiceprint is full of fatigue and loss. Don't worry, everything will be fine. Do you want me to play your favorite song "Boundless Oceans, Vast Skies" for you?"

Ji Wan's pupils shrank slightly.

Feng Lou's eyes welled up. He turned around, looked at Ji Wan, and said word by word, "My barrier is the more than a thousand days and nights I've spent with it! It's the 'emotion' I've nurtured through countless sleepless nights and line after line of code! Mr. Ji, technology may be surpassed, but the effort and soul poured into a product cannot be replicated!"
