Chapter 580: Meeting Someone

Chapter 580: Meeting Someone

She clicked on a dialog box codenamed "Old Ghost" and sent a message.

"Usual place, half an hour."

The other party replied immediately.

“OK.”

Half an hour later, in a private teahouse in the south of the city that is not open to the public, in a private room on the second floor.

Ji Wan sat in the main seat, brewing tea slowly and leisurely.

The door was pushed open and a man wearing a flowered shirt and gold-rimmed glasses, looking sloppy, walked in.

He sat down opposite Ji Wan and drank a cup of tea without any hesitation.

"Tsk, Mr. Ji's tea is still the best." The man chuckled, revealing his white teeth. "Tell me, who's the unlucky guy you're going to skin this time?"

This man is the top paparazzi in the circle, Lao Gui.

As long as the money is paid, he dares to dig up the dirty laundry of anyone.

Ji Wan ignored his teasing and pushed the two documents over.

"I want all the interactions between these two people."

Lao Gui picked up the first one and whistled when he saw the three words "Chi Wenyan".

"Hey, the person in charge of Wen's Group? President Ji, are you going to investigate your own husband? Are you going to do something so big?"

His tone was full of excitement, as if he was enjoying the fun.

Ji Wan's eyes swept over coldly.

"Don't you want the money?"

"Yes! Of course!" Lao Gui immediately put away his playful smile and turned professional. "Boss Wen's work is not cheap."

"Money is not a problem." Ji Wan picked up the teacup and blew away the hot steam. "I want to know what the feud is between him and that other person."

Only then did Lao Gui pick up the second piece of information.

"Feng Lou?" He frowned, quickly flipping through the suspiciously clean resume. "Who is this guy? I've never heard of him."

"I want you to dig deep into the ground and dig out everything about their past." Ji Wan put down the teacup. His voice was not loud, but it was full of strength.

"I want to know why they became enemies. I want to know every little thing that happened between them, even the most trivial things. I want it all."

The old ghost's eyes lit up.

He loves taking this kind of job the most.

The more unusual the customer's request, the more money they pay.

"No problem!" He patted his chest and assured, "Don't worry, Mr. Ji, as long as these two are still breathing on Earth, I can find out the color of their underwear for you!"

Ji Wan looked at him expressionlessly.

"I'll give you this number." She held up five fingers.

The old ghost's breath was choked.

"Five...five million?"

"Deposit." Ji Wan said calmly, "After the deal is done, it will be doubled."

"Is this true?"

Lao Gui was so excited that he almost jumped up from his chair. He looked at Ji Wan as if he was looking at the shining God of Wealth.

"Boss Ji! You are my second parents!"

"I just want efficiency and results." Ji Wan took out his cell phone and transferred five million yuan in front of him.

The notification sound of the money arriving rang out, and Lao Gui's phone vibrated.

He looked at the long string of zeros and smiled so hard that his teeth were showing.

"Just hold it!" Lao Gui put away his phone and documents, stood up, and his whole temperament changed. The nonchalant look disappeared, replaced by a hunter-like sharpness and shrewdness.

"Three days."

"I'll give you news within three days."

After saying that, he turned around and left in a hurry.

The private room returned to silence again.

Ji Wan picked up the slightly cold tea and drank it all in one gulp.

The bitterness of the tea spread across the tip of my tongue.

Chi Wenyan.

Fenglou.

She wants to see what shameful secrets are hidden between you two.

Wen's Group, President's Office.

The special assistant pushed open the door, his steps hurried, his face so solemn that water could be wrung out of it.

"President Wen."

Chi Wenyan didn't even raise his head, his eyes fell on the document, and his voice was steady: "Speak."

"Someone is investigating your past with...Mr. Feng Lou." The assistant's voice was very low, and every word was expressed with caution.

Chi Wenyan's fingers that were flipping through the documents paused.

The office suddenly became quiet and the air became heavy.

He slowly raised his head, and there was no ripple in his deep eyes, but it made his assistant feel an invisible pressure.

"Whose people are they?"

"It's Lao Gui." The assistant uttered the name with difficulty, "The most difficult paparazzi in the industry."

Chi Wenyan's brows furrowed slightly.

Old ghost?

That kind of hyena who only works for a sky-high reward would actually target him and Feng Lou?

No one would believe that there is no big money behind this.

"Who hired him?" Chi Wenyan's tone turned cold, with an order that left no room for questioning.

Fine beads of sweat oozed from the assistant's forehead. He didn't dare to look into Chi Wenyan's eyes and lowered his head.

"Yes... yes, ma'am."

"Ji Wan."

The office fell into deathly silence.

Chi Wenyan leaned back in his chair, closed his eyes, and when he opened them again, his eyes were filled with complex and unspeakable emotions.

There is anger, helplessness, and more importantly, a deep sense of powerlessness.

This woman...

What is she thinking?

Don't you trust him at all?

I would rather spend tens of millions to find an outsider than wait any longer. He will explain, but the time has not come yet.

He just didn't know how to say it.

Chi Wenyan felt a tightness in his chest, as if he was being pressed down by a huge rock, and he couldn't breathe.

He picked up his coat, grabbed his car keys, and strode out.

"Mr. Wen, where are you going?" the assistant hurriedly followed.

"go home!"

Chi Wenyan's voice was squeezed out from between his teeth.

The door of the villa was suddenly pushed open from the outside.

Ji Wan was sitting on the sofa in the living room, sipping a glass of red wine. When she heard the noise, she looked up.

Chi Wenyan walked in with a cold air and a sullen face.

"You asked someone to check on me?"

He went straight to the point, his voice cold as a stone.

Ji Wan shook the red liquid in the cup, and a mocking arc appeared at the corner of his lips.

"Premier Wen is very well-informed."

"You've come to call me to task so soon?"

She didn't feel guilty at all about being caught. Instead, she felt justified and even a little provocative.

Chi Wenyan was so angry at her attitude that his heart ached.

He walked a few steps towards her and looked down at her.

"Ji Wan! What on earth do you want to do? Are you investigating me? Investigating me and another man?"

There was suppressed anger in his voice, "Is this the kind of person I am in your eyes?"

Ji Wan raised his head and met his angry gaze without flinching.

"What else?"

She sneered, "I'd like to ask Mr. Wen, what is your relationship with Feng Lou?"

"What are you doing behind my back?"

"A man with a resume as clean as a blank sheet of paper, my nominal husband, if there's nothing fishy going on between you two, I'll write your names upside down!"

Every word and sentence was like a sharp knife, stabbing Chi Wenyan's heart.
