Chapter 315: Accommodation Arrangement
"Come in." Ji Wan closed his notebook.
The door opened and Chi Lin walked in with a document in his hand.
"Here are the details of the Qihai Project. You can take a look at it." He placed the document on the bedside table. "If there's anything you don't understand, feel free to ask me."
Ji Wan nodded without saying anything.
Chi Lin hesitated for a moment, then continued, "Grandma asked about you just now and said she wanted to have dinner with you."
"I'll be down right away." Ji Wan was still brief.
Chi Lin looked at her deeply, as if he wanted to say something, but in the end he just nodded, turned and left the room.
Ji Wan picked up the document on the bedside table and began to read it carefully.
The Qihai project is a comprehensive commercial development encompassing commercial real estate, high-end residential development, and entertainment facilities. Located in the emerging area of Yucheng, the project holds considerable promise.
But the risks are equally huge.
Qihai Group is a giant in the industry, and cooperating with them is like trying to get the skin of a tiger.
The terms of the gambling agreement are very harsh, and if you are not careful, you will lose everything.
Ji Wan frowned, an idea forming in her mind. If she wanted to protect her own interests, she couldn't just wait passively. She needed to learn more about the project, or even get involved, to ensure it went according to plan.
At dinner time, Ji Wan went downstairs to the restaurant.
Grandma was already sitting at the dining table, and Chi Lin was setting the table for her.
"Wanwan is here." Grandma smiled and asked her to sit down.
Ji Wan sat next to his grandmother and asked softly, "Grandma, how are you feeling today? Are you feeling unwell?"
"It's fine. These two nannies are taking good care of me." Grandma patted Ji Wan's hand. "But you don't look well. Are you too tired?"
Ji Wan shook his head and said, "I'm fine, grandma, don't worry."
Chi Lin brought out a plate of steamed sea bass. "This is grandma's favorite. I specially asked the chef to prepare it."
Grandma smiled even more happily, "Lin'er is so thoughtful, Wanwan, look how happy I am to have two such filial children like you."
Ji Wan forced a smile and said, "As long as grandma likes it."
Throughout the dinner, Chi Lin behaved very considerately, picking up food for Grandma and Ji Wan from time to time, chatting and laughing, and there was no sign of tension between them at all.
Grandma was very amused by his performance and kept praising Chi Lin for being a good boy.
After the meal, grandma went back to her room to rest accompanied by two nannies.
Ji Wan was about to go upstairs when Chi Lin called her.
"Let's talk," he said, his voice tolerant of rejection.
Ji Wan followed him into the study, and after closing the door, Chi Lin went straight to the point.
"I saw you taking inventory of your possessions."
Ji Wan was stunned for a moment, then regained his composure, "You peeked at my things?"
"I wasn't peeking." Chi Lin shook his head. "When I entered your room just now, your laptop was open."
Ji Wan sneered, "So what? Those are my properties anyway. What's wrong with me making a list?"
Chi Lin looked at her deeply and asked, "Have you really decided to leave me?"
"Hasn't this been made clear long ago?" Ji Wan looked him straight in the eye. "I will wait for the Qihai project to be completed, but our relationship is over."
Chi Lin suddenly smiled, a dangerous glint in his eyes, "Ji Wan, do you think it's so easy to leave me?"
"What do you mean?" Ji Wan felt a little uneasy.
Chi Lin walked to the desk, opened the drawer, and took out a document. "This is our post-nuptial property agreement. You should remember it."
Ji Wan took the document, glanced through it quickly, and his face suddenly changed. "This is impossible. I have never signed such an agreement."
"But it does have your signature on it," Chi Lin said calmly, "According to the agreement, if we divorce, you can only get a fixed amount of compensation, not half of the property."
Ji Wan carefully examined the signature on the document and found it was indeed very similar to her handwriting, but she definitely did not remember signing such a document.
"This is a forgery." Ji Wan glared at Chi Lin, "I'll find a lawyer to authenticate it and expose your scam."
Chi Lin remained unmoved. "As you wish. But before that, I hope you can calm down. At least for the sake of the Qihai project and our common future, give each other a chance."
Ji Wan took a deep breath and suppressed his inner anger. "Okay, I will wait for the project to end. But Chi Lin, remember my words, I will definitely take back everything that belongs to me, no matter what means you use to stop me."
Chi Lin smiled slightly and said, "I'll wait and see."
Ji Wan sat in the car, wearing sunglasses and a baseball cap, his eyes fixed on the gate of the office building in front.
The afternoon sun was scorching and the temperature inside the car was rising, but she was unmoved.
Finally, a middle-aged man in a neat suit walked out of the building. It was Li Xiang, the financial manager of Chi Group.
Ji Wan sat up straighter and watched Li Xiang get into a low-key black car.
She immediately started the engine and followed at a suitable distance.
This was her third day following Li Xiang. For the first two days, the finance manager's schedule had been uneventful: work, meetings, dinner, and home.
But today, his car did not take the usual route, but drove to a private hospital in the east of the city.
"Interesting." Ji Wan muttered to himself, parked the car in the parking lot opposite the hospital, put on his disguise, and followed in.
Li Xiang went straight to the obstetrics and gynecology department on the third floor, and Ji Wan followed him calmly.
At the door of a ward, Li Xiang stopped, knocked on the door, and a rare smile appeared on his face.
The door opened and a young woman appeared at the door holding a baby. When she saw Li Xiang, her face immediately lit up with joy.
"You're here." The woman exclaimed softly.
Li Xiang nodded and looked at the baby tenderly, "How is he today?"
The woman stepped aside to let Li Xiang into the room. "I just woke up and was waiting for my dad."
The door closed, and Ji Wan stood at the corner, lost in thought. She took out her cell phone and dialed a number.
"Please check someone for me. Zhang Feifei, an obstetrics patient at a private hospital in Yucheng East District. Li Xiang was visiting her this afternoon..."
After hanging up the phone, Ji Wan did not leave immediately, but waited patiently.
About half an hour later, Li Xiang walked out of the ward with a satisfied smile on his face.
Ji Wan followed him to the hospital parking lot and walked up to Li Xiang when he was about to get in the car.
"Manager Li, what a coincidence." She took off her sunglasses and smiled meaningfully.
Li Xiang turned around and saw that it was Ji Wan. His face turned pale. "Ji... Miss Ji? Why are you here?"
"I'm here to see a friend," Ji Wan said casually, then changed the subject, "Manager Li, who is visiting the obstetrics department? Your wife or... your lover?"
Li Xiang looked around nervously, "Ms. Ji, you misunderstood, I..."
