When the light kiss cracks
Because Ling Chuan wasn't feeling well, Director Yu had the two of them film a kissing scene the next day.
Qiao An kept avoiding Lu Yu, but Lu Yu was unwilling to give up. This was the first kissing scene after their reunion, and also the first real kiss between Qiao An and Lu Yu.
The filming location was a classroom in a rural school. The mottled desks and chairs were neatly arranged, and there were large, protruding pieces of plaster on the walls. When the wind blew, they swayed and some cracked and fell to the ground, scattering powder everywhere.
After school, the students had all left one after another, and Lu Yu stood in front of the podium packing up the musical instruments.
Qiao An got up from the last row of seats and started to walk out, but was stopped by Lu Yu.
Director Yu yelled "Cut!" and gestured with his chin to Ling Chuan and Qiao Yu: "Do you know how to act out the kissing scene next?"
He sat by the window and saw that the two of them had no reaction: "Qiao An has always been unwilling to face Lu Yu. Lu Yu is unwilling to give up. Because of his long-standing longing, he is unwilling to let go again and provoke her to want to get her."
"Qiao An has always had Lu Yu in her heart. It's love and the regret of not being able to be together. Kiss and tears must come together. She must control her emotions."
After giving the two a few minutes to prepare, the director returned behind the monitor and said, "Ready to start."
The staff all returned to their positions, and the clapperboard was slammed shut.
Qiao An walked out expressionlessly, but Lu Yu caught up with her in a few steps and stopped her.
She looked up, her tone calm, and asked, "Teacher Lu, is something the matter?"
Lu Yu twitched the corner of her lips: "Does it have to be like this, like strangers, or even worse than strangers?"
Qiao An pursed her lips and fell silent. Their eyes met, and she looked away first.
Her lips parted slightly: "That's how it should be."
Lu Yu laughed, "What do those days and nights matter?"
"It's all in the past, forget about it."
Qiao An took a step to leave, but Lu Yu grabbed her and closed the classroom door behind her.
The distance between them was closed again. Qiao An was startled and reached out to open the door, but Lu Yu grabbed her wrist and pulled her back against the iron door.
She could clearly see Lu Yu's trembling eyelashes and slightly parted thin lips, as if he had so many unspoken words.
"Joan, I can forget about it, but it depends on how you behave."
"What's the meaning?"
"Men, once they get something, they probably forget about it."
"......"
Under Qiao An's utterly shocked gaze, Lu Yu's lips pressed down.
A soft, warm touch came over her, and she was terrified for a moment. In her panic, she raised her hand to push him away, and her eyes reddened.
The director didn't call "cut," so the two had no choice but to continue.
His kiss was both urgent and gentle. Qiao Yu couldn't respond. Just as she was about to stop, the distance between them was widened.
It was Director Yu who yelled "Cut!"
"Ah, you're still not quite there yet, let's do one more take."
The two went through it again, but still failed.
In front of everyone, the two shared their first kiss, looking at each other with unspoken understanding.
Director Yu watched the playback expressionlessly: "Ah Ye, be more ruthless, but with tender affection in the ruthlessness. Qiao Yu, bite his lips until they bleed to show your resistance."
When Xida's translation reached Qiao Yu's eyes, Qiao Yu frowned and racked her brains to think of how to bite.
We still have to break it!
Director Yu noticed her confusion and smiled, "I'll give you two ten minutes to clear the set and shoot one take."
At the director's request, the staff began to leave one by one. Apart from a few machines, everyone in the classroom was gone, leaving them ten minutes.
Qiao Yu sat down dejectedly, glaring at Ling Chuanye. He walked closer, squatted down in front of her, his eyes crinkling at the corners, raised his hand to cup the back of her head, and gently kissed her lips.
“Ling Chuan also…”
He was still smiling, his lips moving slowly so she could see what he was about to say: "Bite me. Think about how I left without saying goodbye. Back then, didn't you really want to bite me?"
Qiao Yu frowned and then smiled. She nodded, "But I know there must be something that made you make that choice."
Unable to hear her own voice, Qiao Yu felt uneasy, but recent filming has made her more and more willing to speak.
Her voice was still very soft, but Ling Chuan's eyes reddened in an instant. He held the back of her head and pressed his forehead against hers. After only two seconds, he turned his head and kissed her.
He swept in with his unique aura, but Qiao Yu knew where she was—on the film set.
She pressed her lips tightly together to prevent him from penetrating her, her face flushed as she pushed him away, pointing to the nearby, still-humming machines—all evidence.
Ling Chuan smiled and nodded helplessly.
Ten minutes later, filming resumed.
Lu Yu held Qiao An tightly around the waist, pulling her closer. He pressed his lips down, his breath overwhelming her with an irresistible madness. He took her lips in his mouth, caressing them tightly and urgently. On the verge of losing control, he controlled it perfectly, with a touch of gentle comfort.
Hot tears fell from her eyes. This kiss was both a comfort and a regret for Joan. They could never be together in the end. Why did it have to start like this?
She tightly closed her trembling eyelashes, bit down, and the taste of blood exploded in their burning mouths before Lu Yu stopped.
A trace of crimson remained on her lips, but instead of wiping it away, he gently wiped away the tears from the corners of her eyes. His eyes lowered, he said in a hoarse voice, "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry. If I had come to see you sooner, would everything have been different...?"
As he spoke, he pulled the still-crying, trembling person into his arms to comfort them...
A few seconds later, Director Yu called "cut," saying that the scene was very good, and Ling Chuan's added scenes were also good, so it was over.
That evening, Ling Chuan also messaged Qiao Yu, asking her to go up to the hotel's rooftop terrace, saying her mouth hurt.
Qiao Yu stared at the two bright characters on her phone screen and burst out laughing.
Yang Yu leaned closer, looked at it, and then pouted expressionlessly, "So slutty."
But she still took Qiao Yu's coat and handed it to her, gesturing with her chin to let her go quickly, while she kept watch for her.
Qiao Yu was wearing a white nightgown, a khaki jacket, and slippers. Her skirt swayed as she went upstairs.
The rooftop, bathed in the cold white moonlight, had two old solar water heaters mounted in the center, with several bamboo poles connected by long ropes, swaying gently in the wind.
Qiao Yu walked around and finally saw Ling Chuanye on the other side. He was wearing a dark blue bathrobe and had his back to her. The distant mountains were hidden in the darkness, and the scattered stars that peeked through the clouds were scattered across the fields.
As if hearing her footsteps, he turned around slowly, his gaze sweeping over her, and his brows twitched slightly.
Qiao Yu approached him, looking at him with a question in her eyes.
Ling Chuan simply raised his lips, pulled her into his arms, rested his chin on her neck, and wrapped his arms tightly around her waist.
Qiao Yu was slightly taken aback. After a few seconds, she raised her hand and gently patted his back. "What's wrong?"
Not being able to see Ling Chuanye, Qiao Yu didn't know if he had replied to her, but his arms still showed no sign of letting go, so she had no choice but to let him hug her for a while longer.
A few minutes later, Ling Chuan finally let go of her, took off his robe, and, with Qiao Yu looking puzzled, draped it over her shoulders, carefully tying a bow he wasn't familiar with.
Ling Chuan put his arm around her shoulder and led her to look into the distance.
A cool night breeze swept across the rooftop as the two stood side by side, the distant mountains only their dark outlines visible, bathed in the night.
Without saying much, everything he did was so warm and natural. Qiao Yu never expected that there would be such a day between them.
It turns out that in love, language is just an accompaniment.
In a silent world, a glance or a hug is worth more than anything.
Over the next two weeks, Qiao An and Lu Yu's love reached its climax. They went to and from school together, sang and kissed by the stream.
Grandma's worsening condition once again shattered Joan's longing for love.
Beeping sounds from the medical equipment beside the hospital bed reached Qiao An's ears. After three days and two nights of guarding her, she seemed to have developed an immunity to these sounds.
It grew weaker and weaker, like Grandma's breathing, which seemed to grow thinner and thinner.
With her eyes red and swollen, Qiao An stood up after the doctor finished examining her and asked, "How is my grandmother?"
The hoarse voice surprised the doctor standing nearby: "She's getting old, let her rest well, and you should take care of yourself too."
The doctor's voice became faint again in Joanna's ears, and she knew that she was about to lose hearing it again.
As I approached the window, I saw that it was raining outside. Water droplets from the eaves fell into puddles and splashed onto the table. I could no longer hear anything clearly.
A light tap on her shoulder brought Qiao An back to her senses.
Since her grandmother was hospitalized, Lu Yu has come to visit her every day.
"What's wrong? You look terrible."
The faint, indistinct voice made Qiao An's eyes well up with tears. She shook her head, her fingertips gripping the hem of her clothes tightly.
It turns out that even the sound of love will quietly slip away from our ears from this moment on.
Qiao An fought back the burning sensation in her eyes, "No...it's nothing..."
"Click, very good, next one."
Director Yu said a few words to the assistant director beside him before turning to Qiao Yu and nodding in approval.
As soon as Qiao Yu finished filming, she rushed out of the ward without even looking at Ling Chuan. Xi Da hurriedly led her into the lounge.
She nestled in the small sofa, hugging her knees, her body trembling. Tears silently streamed down her face, and every breath felt like a needle prick pulling at her heart; it hurt so much.
In this scene, she felt the helplessness her grandmother felt before she passed away, and she blamed Wang Yingxuan for making her miss the last time she saw her grandmother.
Now the scene is repeating itself, but there's nothing she can do.
Ling Chuan didn't go into the lounge either; he just stood outside the door, leaning against the wall with his hands in his pockets, while Yang Yu stood to the side.
Xida opened the door, closed it again, and came out, shaking her head at them.
Yang Yu patted her: "Let her vent for a while. What she missed will be made up for. She knows how to regulate her emotions."
......
In the drama, the grandmother passed away peacefully a few days later, and the villagers, along with Lu Yu, accompanied Qiao An to bury her.
On a late autumn night in the countryside, the wind, carrying the coolness of rice stalks, swept across the ridges of the fields. The old osmanthus tree in the yard had shed all its blossoms, leaving only bare branches reflecting the waning moon.
In the small courtyard, only Qiao An remained of the Qiao family.
Under the cool moonlight, dim yellow light peeked through the cracks in the windows of the mud-brick house, illuminating the rattan chairs in the courtyard.
Lu Yu draped a coat over Qiao An, looked up at the moon, which was shrouded in clouds, as if covered by a thin veil.
The wind swirled fallen leaves in the yard, and Grandma appeared in front of the stove, calling out to Xiao An'an to come and have some sweet soup.
The video plays frame by frame...
Grandma, her back hunched, patted her soothingly, saying, "An'an, you've grown up and are going to see the world. Grandma will be here waiting for you."
From her deeply furrowed palms, she offered her favorite fruit candies. "An'an, you're back! Grandma prepared your favorite candies for you."
Grandma can't stay with you anymore. Staying here will only hold you back. Go now...
......
My throat tightened more and more, and even my breath felt icy cold. Tears fell like rain from the sky, incessantly.
Lu Yu raised his hand to wipe away the corner of her eye, but the tears kept flowing back down, and he couldn't stop them.
He pulled her into his arms. "An'an, come with me."
Qiao An shook her head, broke free from Lu Yu's embrace, her face streaked with tears that blushed white in the moonlight.
"An'an, come back to Haicheng with me to get your ears treated. I'll stay with you."
Joan slightly raised her eyelids, her eyes churning with pain, then gradually lowered her eyelashes, concealing the darkness in her eyes.
"Lu Yu, my cracks are too big, the light... can't get in anymore."
