Chapter 128 Baozi's Birthday (Part 1)
"Beautiful sister, beautiful sister!" Like a gust of wind, a little girl rushed into the room, tugging at Rouge, "Have you seen my mother?"
Rouge was already used to being called Baozi. While sewing, she calmly pointed to me, who was sleeping in bed, and betrayed me, saying, "There."
“Mom…” Baozi smiled and jumped onto the bed.
I closed my eyes and remained motionless.
"Snake!" Baozi suddenly shouted.
"What a petty trick," I sneered inwardly a few times, and went back to sleep.
"Caterpillar!" Baozi continued to shout.
I was still sleeping soundly.
"Wow... Daddy!" Baozi suddenly jumped off the bed and exclaimed softly.
I immediately opened my eyes, utterly shocked and terrified. "Where? Where?"
This shows that I was indeed greatly poisoned by Cao Cao... *wipes sweat*
Amidst the commotion, Baozi was seen standing by the bed with a mischievous grin.
"Oh...so Mom is most afraid of Dad!" Baozi chuckled.
My lips started twitching; I was furious. "Whose son is this damn brat?!"
"I am the son of the smartest, prettiest, cutest, and most invincible Ms. Pei..." Baozi said in a coquettish voice, then climbed back onto the bed and nestled obediently in my arms.
I was both amused and exasperated.
"Mommy, guess what day it is today?" Baozi nestled obediently in my arms, looking at me expectantly, her obsidian-like eyes incredibly beautiful.
He resembles Cao Cao 80% of his body, and only 20% of me...
Rouge said that the thing Baozi is most like me is his temper and personality... I couldn't help but start to reflect on myself; I'm practically a little devil.
Deliberately ignoring his expectation, I shook my head and looked at him curiously, "What day is it today?"
Baozi started to pout, looking like she was about to cry, and looked extremely pitiful.
No way, not again.
"Madam, what's wrong with the young master?" Rouge was the first to step forward and comfort Baozi.
“Beautiful sister…” Baozi buried her head in Rouge’s arms and turned to look at me with a reproachful expression.
I couldn't help but laugh, and I pulled him out of Rouge's arms, pinching his rosy cheeks. "You're something else! How could I forget? Today is our little Baozi's eighth birthday!"
Baozi's eyes lit up, and she planted a big kiss on my cheek, saying, "I love you!"
I wiped the drool from my face, and my hand twitched again. Who does this child look like...?
After getting out of bed, I changed Baozi into a brand new little red robe, then took his little hand and went out.
Turn left after exiting the door, and you'll see a handsome young man in brocade robes walking by the corridor.
"Handsome brother!" Baozi's eyes lit up and he rushed over.
This person was He Yan. He Yan glanced at me, then noticed Baozi and immediately tried to avoid him. Just as he was about to leave, Baozi grabbed his clothes.
"What are you doing?" He Yan looked down and coldly stared at the little one who was tugging at his clothes.
With her small, fair hands tugging at He Yan's clothes and gently shaking them, Baozi blinked her big, watery eyes and said, "Beautiful brother, today is Chong'er's eighth birthday!"
He Yan couldn't keep up the stern act any longer. Faced with that angelic face, even the most hard-hearted person would soften.
But beneath that angelic face lies a complete little devil...
"Handsome brother, your jade ring is so beautiful." Baozi stared at the jade ring on He Yan's hand without blinking, her face full of longing.
He Yan's eyebrows twitched slightly. "Your hands are too small."
Baozi raised her little hand, pulled a red string from her sleeve, shook it, and answered, "You can string them together and wear them around your neck."
Clearly, that steamed bun came prepared...
A smile crept into He Yan's eyes. He lowered his head, took off the jade ring from his finger, strung it on a red string, bent down, and hung it around Baozi's neck, carefully tying a knot.
"Thank you, handsome brother!" Baozi leaned forward and planted a terrible drool mark on He Yan's fair face.
He Yan blushed slightly, glanced at me, and turned to leave. Since I moved into the Prime Minister's residence, he has rarely spoken to me.
Baozi showed me the jade ring hanging around her neck, looking very proud.
"Baozi! Baozi! You're called Baozi! Don't call yourself Chong'er!" I stepped forward, pinched his doughy little face, and said sternly on purpose.
“You’re jealous of me…” Baozi shook his head, looking helpless.
I was dumbfounded. "Why?"
“Because your name is Pei Xiao…” Baozi sighed.
Okay, Baozi's asking for it again. I rolled up my sleeves and gave him a fierce look.
Baozi shook his head, looking innocent and pitiful like Bambi.
I chuckled.
"Baozi is so cute, let's call ourselves Baozi, okay?" I bent down, squatted on the ground, and looked at the little one at eye level, tempting him.
Baozi shook his head firmly.
Just as I was about to lose my temper, Baozi suddenly ran off happily.
"Brother Zijian!" The next target appeared.
I sighed deeply, rubbing my forehead.
Cao Zhi, holding a book, came out of the study. Hearing the sound, he turned around with a smile and asked, "What is it, Chong'er?"
"Brother Zijian, today is Chong'er's birthday!" Baozi tilted his little head up and said obediently.
Zijian laughed, "Chong'er is so good, what gift do you want?"
Well, this fat sheep is too self-aware, it's delivered itself to my door.
"Men should all ride horses, right?" Baozi asked a strange question.
Zijian paused for a moment, but still smiled and nodded. He truly deserves to be called a talented man, and he has such good manners. I nodded seriously.
“Brother Zijian’s little pony is so beautiful. Chong’er is eight years old today. Daddy said that eight years old is a man.” Baozi said sweetly.
An eight-year-old boy...
I started to feel ashamed. It turned out this little guy had been eyeing other people's things all along, just waiting to come and snatch them on their birthdays… (I shake my head: Like mother, like son. Pei Xiao protests: I'm much more skilled than that little brat!)
"Alright, Brother Zijian, give the little pony to Chong'er." Cao Zhi smiled, bent down, and patted Baozi's head.
Baozi tilted its head back, took a big bite, and generously gave Baozi a sweet kiss.
Cao Zhi still smiled elegantly, seemingly unconcerned about the saliva on his face, and nodded to me with a smile, "Lady Huan."
I smiled and nodded in greeting, even though I was busy.
Zijian turned and left, promising Baozi before he left that a small red pony in the stable would belong to him.
Baozi was so happy that he jumped up and down.
“I have to give it a name!” Baozi nodded seriously, stroking his small chin with great solemnity.
I couldn't help but chuckle.
"Let's call it Mantou!" Baozi made the final decision.
I'm speechless. (A student nods: Like mother, like son...)
As they walked past, the ladies and gentlemen avoided them as if they were doing something terrible.
After touring the entire Prime Minister's residence, Baozi carried bags and bags of spoils, smacking his lips with a hint of lingering satisfaction. Finally, he said, "Tomorrow, I'll tell Dad to marry a few more wives."
I'm absolutely speechless.
She bent down and pinched his rosy cheeks. "Yeah, yeah, tell your womanizing father to marry ten or eight more women."
Baozi nodded repeatedly, "Yes, yes, when I turn nine next year, I'll have tons of presents!"
My lips twitched; I wanted nothing more than to hang this arrogant little brat up and spank him.
"Mom's jealous!" Baozi suddenly pointed at me and laughed.
I started rolling up my sleeves. "You really deserve a beating!"
Baozi ran off at lightning speed.
"Brother Zihuan!" Baozi rushed forward as if he had discovered a new continent and grabbed Cao Pi, who had just returned to the mansion.
The boy in the blue robe paused slightly, then looked down at the little one at his feet.
Cao Pi's eyes were very similar to Cao Cao's, those long, narrow eyes, but they were always cold and aloof. Perhaps it was the commentary of history that made me subconsciously feel a chill towards the young man in blue robes in front of me.
I rushed forward to take the steamed bun.
"What's wrong?" Cao Pi actually bent down and looked at the steamed bun with great interest.
"Today is Chong'er's eighth birthday!" Baozi's eyes sparkled as he looked at the exquisitely crafted ancient jade pendant hanging from Cao Pi's waist.
Cao Pi smiled slightly, but the smile lingered on his lips and did not reach his eyes; those eyes, which resembled Cao Cao's, remained as cold and aloof as ever.
Just as my heart was pounding, Cao Pi actually lowered his head and took off the jade pendant from his waist, and put it on Baozi's waist. The brand-new little red robe and the ancient jade complemented each other perfectly.
Cao Pi patted Baozi's little head and then turned to leave.
"Brother Zihuan is the best!" Baozi was still flattering him from behind.
I stepped forward and glared fiercely at this unruly little guy.
Rubbing his eyes, Baozi yawned with his little mouth open, "Mommy, I'm so tired."
I laughed, and perhaps without realizing it, my eyes were filled with a doting smile.
I carried the steamed buns and his spoils in my arms and returned to Tongmeng Pavilion.
"And my little uncle, and Uncle Hua... and Dad... and the fortune teller..." Baozi murmured in my arms, "Birthday presents..."
I patted his head and smiled, "Okay, I know, no one dares to owe you anything."
