Chapter 68 The Bespectacled Fortune Teller (Part 1)

The dim candlelight flickered. I turned around, adjusted the wick, and the flame flashed slightly before brightening again.

With my back to Guo Jia, I dared not turn around, afraid to see his pale and thin appearance.

"Heh...cough cough..." Behind me, Guo Jia stood up, walked behind me, and gently patted my head. "What were you thinking about! It's just that my eyes have been a little blurry lately, so I remembered some books that I wanted to read but never had time to read. I'm afraid that my eyes will be damaged and I won't be able to read them in the future."

I felt inexplicably at ease, and I turned around with a grin, "Of course, of course, I didn't mean anything by it."

Guo Jia smiled, but didn't say anything, only patted my head.

I stared into his eyes for a long time. "You said your eyes... are blurry?"

"Yeah, it's getting harder and harder to see things."

A sudden inspiration struck me, and I laughed, "Wait a minute, I'll give you a treasure."

"Baby?" Guo Jia chuckled.

"Wait for me!" I said, then turned and ran out.

He rushed back to his room, rummaged through the shoulder bag on the bedside table and pulled out the glasses that had never been used, then ran back.

"Look!" I stood panting at Guo Jia's door, proudly showing him the glasses in my hand.

"What is this...?" The omniscient fortune teller stared at the glasses in my hand with a look of confusion on his face.

My chuckles, which even puzzled geniuses, were incredibly satisfying.

I tiptoed and put the glasses I was holding on Guo Jia's straight nose. I looked him over from left to right and nodded repeatedly, exuding a scholarly air.

Guo Jia stood there blankly as I fussed over him, raising his hand to remove the thing from the bridge of his nose, then hesitated slightly.

"What's wrong?" I asked, leaning closer.

"I can see it very clearly." He raised his left hand in disbelief, gently touched the lens, and then withdrew his hand as if it were something strange.

I grinned from ear to ear; I had guessed right!

I took off his glasses, placed them casually on the table beside him, and pulled him back to bed to rest.

"Those are called glasses. You can wear them to read from now on, so take a proper rest during your break," I said with a serious face.

Guo Jia suppressed a laugh and nodded.

I covered him with the blanket and then turned to leave.

"Did you bring these glasses from your hometown?" Guo Jia asked softly from behind, his voice punctuated by a cough.

I paused slightly, knowing that when he said "you," he meant the woman who lived in his heart. Even if they couldn't be together, was it good to search for everything related to her?

"Hmm," I simply nodded in response without turning around.

"Thank you." The voice carried a slight hint of drowsiness.

Without saying anything more, I left the room.

It was late at night, and I wandered around the garden again and again, unable to fall asleep.

Finding a step, undeterred by the heavy dew, I sat down, propping my chin up and staring blankly.

I felt a slight warmth on my body as someone embraced me from behind.

I knew who it was without turning around.

"Guan Yu has come to surrender." Cao Cao spoke from behind, his voice slightly tinged with the smell of alcohol.

"Congratulations on gaining another capable general." I pursed my lips, showing absolutely no sincerity.

Cao Cao didn't mind, he just chuckled softly.

"What conditions did you agree to?" I asked calmly, without shaking him off. The night was chilly, so I just put on an extra robe, which was indeed warm.

"Heh, very clever," he chuckled. "He set three conditions: first, he surrendered to the Han Dynasty, not Cao Cao; second, he could not neglect Lady Gan and Lady Mi; third..."

"What is the third one?" I tilted my head slightly.

"Thirdly, once they know where Liu Bei is, they will leave immediately, even if they are thousands of miles away." Cao Cao tilted his head slightly, leaned on my shoulder, and said with some reluctance.

I laughed.
