Chapter 85 (End of Chapter 85)
Upon hearing the doctor's words, Jiang An was overjoyed. Last time Wen Lingshuang was 'pregnant,' he had hesitated, worried and afraid, because he clearly sensed her fear of the child's arrival. But now that it was truly here, the joy was indescribable. He held Wen Lingshuang's hand tightly, controlling his emotions as he asked, "Is my wife healthy? Does she need any extra nutrition?"
"Mrs. Jiang is in good health, but..." the doctor cleared his throat slightly, "she should postpone sexual activity for the past three months."
When the topic of sex came up, Wen Lingshuang, whose mind had gone blank, finally snapped out of it. She stared blankly at the doctor and asked, "Am I really pregnant?"
"Yes, Mrs. Jiang."
Wen Lingshuang slowly looked at Jiang An. Jiang An reached out and touched her cheek, his dark eyes filled with deep affection, "Yangyang..."
She has a child?
Wen Lingshuang subconsciously touched her flat stomach and murmured, "I'm really pregnant."
Jiang An didn't know whether she was sad or happy. He watched her nervously and fearfully, afraid that she would say she didn't want children. If she said no, he could agree...
Time ticked by, and after a long silence, Wen Lingshuang buried her head in Jiang An's eyes, letting out a soft "woof," sounding somewhat coquettish and pleading, "But I still want to stay in the tea garden. Should we go home?"
Upon hearing this, Jiang An felt as if a huge weight had been lifted from his shoulders.
The shock was so great that he couldn't think straight. He held her hand tightly and said, "Wherever you like to stay, we'll stay."
Wen Lingshuang's thoughts were in turmoil. On one hand, she was thinking about how she was pregnant at only twenty-five years old, and on the other hand, she was thinking about all the things that had happened since she became pregnant. Just like last time, she felt somewhat at a loss, but the difference was that she didn't feel any aversion to it. This was her and Jiang An's child... a child that belonged only to them.
On the way back to the tea plantation, she was still wondering whether the child looked like him or her.
Is it a boy or a girl?
Jiang An had been calling his friends to congratulate them all the way. Wen Lingshuang lay in his arms, listening to his congratulatory tone, which was full of happiness and joy. It was Wen Lingshuang's request that he did not choose to congratulate his family. If the two families found out about her pregnancy, the main force would definitely rush to the tea garden and take her away.
She didn't want to go back.
The tea garden was quiet and peaceful, and she lived a comfortable and pleasant life. She had no desire to go home and undergo any kind of pregnancy preparation, surrounded by a bunch of people, which was incredibly annoying.
Although they weren't going home, Jiang An had made ample preparations for the tea plantation. First, there was the road. He couldn't let Wen Lingshuang walk on the gravel path, so he paved it with cement to make her walk and stroll more safely. Then there was the matter of food and clothing. The mountain nights were cool and the days were hot, and the rapid temperature changes could have a significant impact on pregnant women. So, he quickly renovated one of the buildings and installed underfloor heating and a constant temperature system.
Wen Lingshuang was very sleepy during her pregnancy and would sleep until very late every day. At first, Jiang An slept in the same bed with her, but after only one night, he moved to the next room.
Wen Lingshuang got quite angry about this, asking, "Why are you moving out? Don't you like me anymore?"
Jiang An felt a headache and helplessness. He had been enjoying himself with her day and night, but now he suddenly couldn't do that anymore. How could he bear it? He could only try to see her less to avoid arousing her, so he comforted her, "Yangyang, it's not what you think. The doctor said we can't have sex for three months. You have to consider my feelings."
"I don't care how you feel! I just want you to sleep with me!" Wen Lingshuang said dramatically, hands on her hips. "If you don't sleep with me, it means you don't love me."
"Did you sleep well last night when I held you while we slept?" Jiang An gently rubbed her hand.
Last night he hugged her from behind and didn't sleep all night. He was so hard it hurt, and she was so uncomfortable from the pressure.
All right.
I really can't sleep.
But she had gotten used to being held by him while she slept, and now that she was sleeping alone, the blankets were chilly, and she didn't like that feeling.
Seeing her expression soften, Jiang An put his arm around her slender waist and said, "Yangyang, be good. Let's talk about it after three months, okay?"
In reality, Jiang An wouldn't touch her even after three months; he was just saying that to comfort her.
But Wen Lingshuang didn't realize his 'lie' and thought that as long as she could get through three months, she pouted and said, "Three months is so long."
“It’s already the first month,” Jiang An pinched her cheek. “It will be soon.”
And so, Wen Lingshuang reluctantly agreed to sleep in separate beds.
It was a hot afternoon, and Wen Lingshuang was lying in bed scrolling through her phone. The messages were all about pregnancy: when is the best time for prenatal education, what foods are best for the baby? Suddenly, she remembered something, opened WeChat, and tapped Tan Zhu's chat window, sending her a voice message: "Tan Zhu, Tan Zhu, what are you doing?"
Tan Zhu quickly replied, "I'm at home. How are you doing at the tea plantation?"
"I'm fine, I'm just a little bored and wanted to chat with you."
"What should we talk about?"
Do you remember that friend of yours who told my fortune last time?
"I remember my friend said your marriage is going to be amazing, wasn't that a very accurate prediction!"
Is it super accurate?
Wen Lingshuang bit her lip and continued, "Could you ask your friend to help me see if Jiang An and I will quarrel in the future?"
Tan Zhu: "Stop joking, okay? Your brother-in-law is super nice to you."
"I know he's good to me, but life is so long, who knows what will happen later?"
Why are you being so sentimental? Has something happened recently?
Only after Tan Zhu said that did Wen Lingshuang realize what was going on.
Since finding out she was pregnant, she has indeed become much more sensitive. Yesterday, Jiang An served her some food, but it didn't taste good, so she got angry and threw a tantrum. She would never have acted like this before. She knew he doted on her and loved her, so she always knew her limits and gave him leeway. Now, she really is just like what people say: unreasonable, pretentious, and domineering.
Wen Lingshuang did not return to Tanzhu.
Tan Zhu replied with a long voice message, saying, "Don't believe this stuff too much. Everyone can see how your brother-in-law treats you. Don't overthink things. If you think like that, your brother-in-law will be sad too. You're questioning his sincerity towards you."
After listening, Wen Lingshuang felt that Tan Zhu made sense.
It's all because of these pregnancy hormones; she's become someone she doesn't even recognize anymore.
In the evening, Jiang An returned from the vineyard, picked a few bunches of the best-growing purple grapes, washed them, and brought them to the room for Wen Lingshuang to eat. Wen Lingshuang was lying on the bed sleeping, her slender and shapely legs crossed. Jiang An looked at those straight legs and stood there for a long time, admiring them as if they were works of art.
Perhaps it was the intense gaze that made Wen Lingshuang slowly open her eyes and meet Jiang An's dark eyes.
He's so horny.
Staring at her legs like that made her cringe.
She slowly sat up, looking at him with alluring charm, "Where have you been?"
"I'll pick some grapes for you; they're from the garden."
Vegetable gardens and orchards have been set up on the hillside diagonally opposite the tea garden. These were all temporarily transplanted for Wen Lingshuang, and some of them are already semi-ripe.
Jiang An carried the grapes to her side and sat down. He peeled the grapes and held them to her lips. After she ate one, she sat on his lap. His strong, firm thighs felt comfortable. She put her arms around his neck and asked, "Have my parents called you?"
After they arrived at the tea plantation, Wen Jinye and Tan Yu called each other every few days.
They were also puzzled; instead of calling Wen Lingshuang, they called Jiang An.
Jiang An kissed her cheek. "I called and asked how things were at the tea plantation. I said it was fine, but I didn't mention your pregnancy."
"Honey, I've been so sleepy these past few days," she said coquettishly. "I feel like my bones are all limp from sleeping so much."
"You said before that you were so tired you felt like your bones were melting, but now you're sleeping so soundly?" Jiang An chuckled. "You're completely limp."
“Then you’re all hard.” She pointed to his face, “This is hard.” Then she pointed to his chest, “This is hard too.” Pointing to his abs, “This is hard too.” And then down…
She blinked. "Honey, you're hard."
Jiang An rubbed his temples helplessly, wondering how a couple of pokes from her could cause this. "So don't easily provoke a man who's abstinent, my wife."
After saying that, he picked her up and carried her downstairs. "The weather is nice today, not too hot. I'll carry you out to get some sun."
Wen Lingshuang nestled in Jiang An's arms as he carried her towards the door, like holding a tiny, all-white kitten. She lay obediently and softly in his embrace, blinking occasionally and licking her lips sometimes. A gentle breeze blew, and her legs swayed back and forth in his arms. She squinted in the sun and said, "Honey, don't you think I've changed a lot lately?"
"Have you become prettier?" He looked down at her and couldn't help but kiss her forehead. "Or have you become more obedient?"
"You think I've become more obedient?" Wen Lingshuang opened her eyes slightly to look at him, her eyes sparkling. "Don't you think I'm pretentious? Don't you think I have a bad temper?"
In Jiang An's eyes, Wen Lingshuang was never unlovable, only disobedient. Outsiders said she was pretentious, but he disagreed. This endearing pretentiousness was essentially a kind of charm that others could not learn or imitate; it was something she was born with.
Wen Lingshuang wrapped her arms around his neck, gently pressed his head down, tilted her head back, and kissed his thin lips, her voice soft and seductive, "Don't just kiss my forehead."
Jiang An's Adam's apple bobbed violently. He dared not be too emotional, and could only gently trace her red lips, his voice hoarse, "Don't embarrass me in public, Yangyang..."
Wen Lingshuang glared at him playfully, "So what if I embarrassed you?"
“Nothing much,” he laughed. “It’s not shameful to have feelings for your wife; I’m just afraid of scaring them.”
Wen Lingshuang was amused by his words.
Thinking back to the first time I accidentally stumbled into his bathroom and saw that shocking scene, I was indeed quite frightened.
She stopped bothering him and rested her head against his chest.
A gentle breeze blows, and the tea gardens have reached their harvest season once again. The lush green mountains are just as beautiful as they were decades ago.
Many years ago, he and she played freely in this very place.
As Jiang An held her and stood on high ground looking out over the tea garden, he seemed to see himself as a child, dressed in thin clothes, chasing after a little girl in a beautiful princess dress in the tea garden.
"Come and chase me, Jiang An." She smiled innocently and romantically. "If you catch me, I'll give you candy!"
The figures of two children could be seen in and out of sight in the tea garden.
The person in his arms snuggled closer, and when they slowly opened their eyes, they were met with eyes filled with love and doting affection.
Some feelings remain unchanged even after decades.
Some people, however, have been chasing after it for decades before finally getting it.
He loved her, as if it were destined from birth.
"What are you looking at?" she asked.
"Look at my love."
