Chapter 54 I don't want to have a child too early, I still...
Numerous media reporters gathered outside, but due to the wedding's privacy, the highest level of security was in place; no one was allowed inside except those with invitations. Inside the hall, however, was a true indoor garden. Tens of thousands of white and champagne-colored roses, flown in from Ecuador, formed enormous flower walls and arches, interspersed with pale purple tulips from the Netherlands and Japanese bellflowers. The air was filled with the elegant and luxurious fragrance of Bulgarian rose essential oil blended with cedarwood.
The guests were seated in custom-made armchairs upholstered in the finest Italian white lambskin, with the guests' initials embroidered in silver thread on the backs. A three-meter-wide white velvet carpet stretched from the chapel entrance to the altar, sprinkled with fresh rose petals.
The symphony orchestra next to them, led by an internationally renowned conductor, was playing a soothing classical piece. The notes flowed like a spring, permeating every corner.
Approximately 1,500 people received invitations. Most were heads and heirs of multinational corporations, gray-haired financial tycoons, a few low-profile politicians with distinguished aides, and relatives and friends of both the bride and groom.
At noon, the ceremony officially began.
The orchestra played Mendelssohn's "Wedding March," but with a more grand and solemn arrangement.
Wen Lingshuang wore a wedding dress meticulously crafted by a top haute couture designer. The skirt was made of extremely rare Italian silk with a pearlescent sheen, and the fitted mermaid design accentuated her perfect figure. The five-meter-long train was adorned with hand-embroidered patterns and inlaid with two thousand tiny seawater pearls and diamonds, shimmering with light with every step she took.
She took Wen Jinye's arm and walked slowly on the white velvet carpet. Her steps were steady, her posture elegant, and her face wore a gentle smile befitting her status.
At the other end of the red carpet, Jiang An stood before the altar. He was dressed in a black suit, every detail impeccable. Tall and handsome, his gaze followed the bride walking towards him, a calm smile playing on his lips.
Under the solemn and compassionate guidance of the priest, the two exchanged vows. Their voices were clear and steady. Then, they exchanged rings. The man's ring was a platinum ring set with a rare black diamond, while the woman's ring featured a flawless, emerald-green jade as its center stone, surrounded by colorless diamonds, refracting a breathtaking brilliance in the sunlight streaming through the glass dome.
When the priest announced, "Groom, you may now kiss your bride," Jiang An gently lifted Wen Lingshuang's veil and placed a soft kiss on her lips. The hall resounded with prolonged, polite, and enthusiastic applause. The symphony orchestra then began its magnificent symphony.
After the wedding, Wen Lingshuang went to the dressing room to change out of her heavy wedding dress and prepare to change into a light dress.
There was a knock on the door.
Tan Zhu opened the door and saw Jiang An standing outside. A smile appeared on her lips. "Brother-in-law, are you here to see my sister?"
Jiang An nodded.
"Perfect timing, she's changing into her dress, can you help her?"
Tan Zhu pushed Jiang An inside.
There were only three or four staff members inside. When they saw Jiang An enter, they all gave each other meaningful glances before leaving the rest room.
Wen Lingshuang was already exhausted and slumped on the sofa. She had gotten up early in the morning and had only drunk a few sips of soup since then. She was so hungry that she was dizzy. Her eyes were closed, and her beautiful and delicate face was flawless. She looked as beautiful as a doll. Jiang An bent down and gently stroked her cheek.
The tingling sensation made her open her eyes.
The moment she opened her eyes, she was met with Jiang An's dark gaze.
As they looked at each other, Wen Lingshuang stretched out her arms and wrapped them around his neck, pouting, "I want a hug."
Jiang An chuckled softly and hugged her affectionately.
I knew she liked to act cute, but I didn't know she was so good at it.
Having a license to work makes all the difference.
She's been acting much more affectionately than before.
He held her in his arms and comforted her, "Are you very tired?"
"I'm exhausted." She nestled against his neck. "I don't want to go toast anymore, I want to go home and sleep."
Jiang An pondered for a moment, then said, "Alright, I'll have someone send you back first."
Wen Lingshuang: "?"
She was just saying it casually. In such a big occasion, with so many important people present, even if it were pretentious or affected, she shouldn't have abandoned them and left. She gently pushed him away and said, "Aren't you afraid of what people will say about you?"
What did you say about me?
Jiang An frowned.
I actually found there was some truth to what she said.
It's not that her departure was justified, but rather that she was "overly doting on her wife."
Is this considered spoiling her?
Jiang An felt that Wen Lingshuang's threshold for satisfaction was not high, so he reached out and touched the top of her head. "Don't worry, if you're tired and want to leave, I'll take care of the rest."
Wen Lingshuang's heart softened, and she hugged his neck again, "No, we're one now. Do you know what it means to be one?"
Her sweet voice echoed in his ear, her breath brushing against his earlobe, "That's right, if I make a mistake, you take responsibility, and if you make a mistake, I take responsibility. That's what it means to be one."
As Jiang An listened to her words, he felt as if he were sitting on a swaying sea, no longer worried about the waves and storms as before. He embraced her again and kissed her cheek. "I don't need you to take responsibility. Marry me, and you will still be the eldest daughter of the Wen family."
Wen Lingshuang giggled and pushed him away, raising her legs and gently pressing her high-heeled feet against his thighs, saying, "Alright then, let Mr. Jiang help me change my shoes now. I want to change into those flat shoes so I can toast you."
The spot she stepped on was very sensitive.
Jiang An's dark eyes narrowed, but he did not stop him.
He half-squatted down, wrapped his large hands around her feet, gently took off her high heels, and slipped on her flat shoes. His movements were extremely gentle, as if he were helping a porcelain doll put on shoes, afraid that he might break her if he moved too much.
After changing her shoes, he sat down next to her and helped her untie the straps and zipper of her wedding dress.
In the past, he wouldn't have dared to touch this, fearing he might cross the line.
But now, they have crossed countless boundaries and have already penetrated each other's bodies.
He patiently untied her ribbons, revealing her slender, snow-white waist. He covered it with his large hand, which was only about the width of a palm.
Wen Lingshuang felt his hand on her waist and snorted softly, "Hurry up and take it off, I want to change into that comfortable dress."
"Aren't you too trusting of me?" Jiang An's deep voice came from behind. "A woman shouldn't say such things to a man."
“Jiang An.” Wen Lingshuang tilted her head slightly to look at him. “But you are my husband.”
“I know…” He swallowed slightly, “I mean, it shouldn’t be in this kind of situation…”
"I'm going to test your limits," she laughed. "I just love seeing you unable to have what you want."
here we go again.
A spoiled brat.
Jiang An tried to look away, took off the heavy wedding dress, and picked up the light dress next to him to put it on her.
Although each dress was custom-made and fit the body's curves perfectly, Jiang An was still somewhat dissatisfied with the fit. He got up and went to the area where the dresses were hanging to check, and found that almost all of them were strapless.
Seeing him standing there repeatedly examining the dress, Wen Lingshuang assumed there was something wrong with it and asked, "What are you looking at?"
"It's too revealing."
The three simple words left Wen Lingshuang speechless.
Too revealing.
Where was it exposed?
Isn't this just a normal formal dress?
Moreover, he was present when the design team was negotiating the dress design, and he knew about it and had seen the design drawings. How can he now turn around and say it's too revealing?
“I just like strapless styles.” She frowned. “Don’t bother looking, they’re all pretty much the same.”
Jiang An turned his head and saw Wen Lingshuang sitting on the sofa. Her wine-red strapless dress accentuated her alluring figure, with her snow-white, full breasts and slender waist, not to mention the large open back design.
He didn't know much about formal wear. When the design team showed them the design drawings, he thought they were pretty standard. Since Wen Lingshuang liked them, he didn't ask any further questions. Who knew they could be so sexy?
"Then you should rest some more." Jiang An raised his hand to look at his watch. "I'll go out and say a few words to the guests."
"No." Wen Lingshuang stood up, walked to his side, and took his arm. "If I rest any longer, I really won't want to move."
Jiang An truly felt sorry for her.
A pampered young lady who had been spoiled since childhood has suffered a lot of hardships she had never experienced before while "hanging out" with him these past few months.
He led her towards the door.
It was time for the banquet to begin. Waiters brought out plates of appetizers. The elders of the Wen and Jiang families were seated at the main table. When Wen Lingshuang saw Yao Fei sitting next to Jiang Hanyu, she looked up at Jiang An, then patted his hand and whispered, "Take me to offer incense to my mother tomorrow, so she can see her daughter-in-law."
Upon hearing this, Jiang An smiled and lowered his head to kiss her forehead.
Under the dazzling lights and sound effects, the entire venue was filled with the lively atmosphere of a newlywed couple. Jiang Xu and Jiang Qi sat at the main table and had only drunk a few glasses of wine when they wanted to get up and leave. Yao Fei sent someone over to warn them that they had to finish the banquet before leaving.
Jiang Qi couldn't stand the ordeal and said irritably, "What illegitimate child would have such a grand wedding?"
Jiang Xu picked up the glass of wine in front of him, took a sip, and said, "No illegitimate child has ever been able to sit in the position of head of the family."
Upon hearing this, Jiang Qi became furious and ignored Yao Fei's words, getting up and walking towards the door.
As Yao Fei watched Jiang Qi's departing figure from afar, her eyes darkened, and she said, "That useless guy."
Jiang Hanyu didn't hear her words and asked in a low voice, "What's wrong?"
Yao Fei smiled and said, "It's nothing. It's just a joyous occasion. It's only a moment of reflection. In the blink of an eye, Jiang An has already started a family. It's a great thing that he's accomplished something."
Jiang Hanyu nodded, "Yes, the family is established, the business is built, and it would be even better if the Jiang family had an heir."
Yao Fei smiled but didn't say anything.
Soon, Jiang An led Wen Lingshuang to sit down, and everyone smiled and wished them a long and happy marriage and many children.
Wen Lingshuang blushed amidst their blessings, leaned coquettishly on Jiang An's shoulder, and whispered, "I don't want to have a child early, I want to play for a few more years."
Under the table, Jiang An gently squeezed her hand. "Okay."
