The boss said, "That's what the guest guessed."
"But I still want to know the inside story. Does Kaifeng Prefecture not care at all?"
Zhao Jun asked.
"hehe."
The boss sneered and didn't answer.
Zhao Jun understood.
He nodded, then asked who those people were.
The boss hesitated for a moment, but finally told him.
The security in the inner city of Bianliang is good because it is right under the feet of the emperor and next to the imperial palace, so the security there must be good.
The ruffians outside the city did not dare to target the dignitaries, after all, these people were behind most of the industries in the inner city.
But the outer city is different.
Most of the people living in the outer city are ordinary people, and therefore a lot of crime has arisen.
Gangs abounded here, and crime was rampant. Officials from the government offices either participated in or colluded with them, forming numerous factions, large and small.
Since there was no curfew in the Song Dynasty, they appeared more frequently at night.
So sometimes in the middle of the night, ordinary people living in the outer city could even hear the sounds of gangs fighting, killing each other, and seizing territory.
This is why when Zhao Jun came during the day, he saw that the order was barely acceptable, but he didn't know that at night, it was chaos.
Zhao Jun finally got a lot of useful information from the boss. The time he had spent here was not in vain. After chatting for a while, he got up and left.
He planned to go outside the city to take a look.
I heard that there are many government fields and royal farms outside the city, so I went to take a look.
When I came out of the shop, I saw that the street was empty.
The surrounding area is filled with dilapidated wooden houses and low rammed earth brick walls. Even the street stalls have been taken away, and many shops are about to close.
I looked down at the ground and saw that the water was very deep, reaching above my ankles.
Zhao Jun sighed and prepared to go back.
He opened the oil-paper umbrella he had brought out in the morning and walked into the rain. Di Qing and others followed him like shadows, and there seemed to be human figures floating in the street corners and alleys.
The sky was gray and gloomy. It was clearly noon, but it was very dark. Turning a corner, I could see four or five people in the distance.
It was a normal thing, so Zhao Jun just took a glance and didn't pay much attention to it. But after taking a glance, he suddenly felt something was wrong, so he stopped and looked over carefully.
I saw several people wearing straw raincoats, walking in a hurry. One of them was holding a child in his arms. The child seemed to be asleep and did not move.
Seeing someone at the intersection, those people were obviously stunned for a moment, then stopped where they were, hesitated slightly, and walked into the alley on the right.
"Chase!"
Zhao Jun immediately realized that something was wrong and started running.
Di Qing and a few others followed behind him.
Everyone quickly reached the alley entrance and saw those people still walking slowly, looking back from time to time.
When they suddenly saw Zhao Jun and a few others chasing after them, they knew that someone was meddling in their affairs, so they hurriedly quickened their pace, wanting to get out of the alley as quickly as possible and leave through the next street.
However, since they were carrying people, their speed was naturally not as fast as Di Qing and his men. Moreover, Zhao Jun was young and strong, so he simply threw away his umbrella and chased after them madly, approaching them in a few steps.
"Who are you, sir?"
Those men had obviously been running for a while and were out of strength. When they saw the other party approaching quickly, they immediately stopped and looked back vigilantly.
Except for the man holding the child, the others put their hands into their arms, and a silver light could be vaguely seen.
"You guys are stealing kids, right?"
Zhao Jun frowned.
"This is my child. He is sick and needs to see a doctor. It has nothing to do with you."
The man holding the child scolded, "I hope you won't meddle in other people's business."
"You took your child to the doctor, but covered his mouth? Did you want to suffocate him?"
Zhao Jun turned to Di Qing and asked, "Can we defeat them?"
Di Qing grinned: "It's a small matter."
"kill!"
Seeing that the situation could not be resolved amicably, the man shouted.
Several people immediately drew their sharp knives and ran over.
But how could they be a match for Di Qing and his men?
The traffickers were holding short knives, while Di Qing and his men were holding long knives. Not only were they highly skilled in martial arts, but their weapons were also stronger than theirs. In a moment, their hands and feet were chopped, and their weapons fell to the ground.
Seeing that his brothers could not hold on any longer, the man holding the child quickly threw the child towards Zhao Jun and the others and ran straight to the alley entrance.
But suddenly several people appeared at the entrance of the alley and blocked him.
The man hurriedly tried to climb over the wall, but before he could get up, Di Qing pulled him down and he fell heavily to the ground.
"Good man, I admit defeat. We are from Wuyou Cave, please give us some face."
The man fell down and was stunned, but he still replied with gritted teeth. He knew that he had met a tough guy today. Only government officials could go out with long swords. He could only tell his name and hope that the other party would let him go.
After all, Wuyou Cave has to pay tribute to most officials in Kaifeng Prefecture every year. Even if some officials want to do something new, they have to find them for help even if they are only eleven or twelve years old. At least they can give them some face.
"What the hell is Wuyou Cave? Do you think you deserve my respect?"
Zhao Jun sneered.
The man was stunned for a moment, then said, "Are you from out of town?"
"So what?"
Zhao Jun said.
"Haha, seeing as you're armed with long swords, you're probably bandits from outside the city with the army."
It was only then that the man noticed the tattoo on Di Qing's face. He immediately changed his attitude and said coldly, "I advise you to let us go and don't cause trouble for yourself."
