Naturally, there was no need to build a river directly from Beijing to Hangzhou like in the Yuan Dynasty.
However, with the gradual development of Hebei's steel industry, it is imperative to strengthen the economic and political ties between Daming Prefecture and Kaifeng Prefecture. Therefore, reopening a shipping route from Huazhou will play an important role in promoting the economic development of the two places.
