Chapter 524 Wen Jingxi, thank you for choosing me, thank you for loving me
Wen Jingxi had a dream.
In his dream, Song Lanyin left, and he searched the whole world for her, but he couldn't find her anywhere.
He woke up from a nightmare, and when he opened his eyes, it was pitch black all around him.
My arms felt empty.
"Ah Yin!"
Wen Jingxi sat up abruptly and fumbled to turn on the light.
The room was brightly lit, but Song Lanyin was nowhere to be seen.
"Ayin!" Wen Jingxi threw off the covers, got out of bed, and rushed barefoot to the door.
The door opened, and Wen Jingxi rushed into the unlit living room, anxiously calling out to Song Lanyin.
"Ayin, Ayin—"
The sound of the fingerprint lock unlocking came from the front door.
Wen Jingxi paused.
The door opened, and the motion-sensor light in the entryway turned on.
Song Lanyin walked in carrying the ingredients—
"Ah Yin!"
Wen Jingxi rushed over and hugged her tightly, "You scared me to death, I thought you were gone."
Song Lanyin's heart skipped a beat. She raised her hand and gently patted his shoulder. "I'm just going to the nearby supermarket to buy some groceries."
“I had a dream…” Wen Jingxi lowered his head, buried his face in her neck, and smelled her fragrance. “In the dream you left, and I searched for you all over the world, but I couldn’t find you anywhere. It was as if you had vanished from the face of the earth.”
Song Lanyin felt a suffocating pain in her chest, but she couldn't show it at all.
"Looks like my trip to Tibet really scared you!" she teased, trying to sound casual. "Then next time I go out, I'll tie you to my waistband and take you with me?"
"You have to take me with you!" Wen Jingxi released her, cupped her face, and said with an extremely serious expression, "Not only do you have to take me with you when you go out, but even when we sleep together, you have to tell me before you go out. I don't like the feeling of waking up and not being able to see you."
"Okay, from now on I'll report to you wherever I go." Song Lanyin tapped his furrowed brow. "Can you rest assured now, Wen Sansui?"
Wen Jingxi: "..."
"I bought some ingredients. Are you hungry?" Song Lanyin said with a smile. "Come on, let's cook together."
Wen Jingxi let go of her and took the shopping bag containing the ingredients from her hand. "Go wait in the living room, I'll do the cooking."
"It's so boring to stay in the living room by myself, let's cook together." Song Lanyin pushed him towards the kitchen.
With little time left, she didn't want to waste a single second.
Wen Jingxi also enjoyed being with her, so he let her be.
In the kitchen, Wen Jingxi looked at the ingredients Song Lanyin had bought. "How about steak?"
“That’s right!” Song Lanyin took out a pair of newly bought candles. “A candlelight dinner, how romantic!”
Wen Jingxi: "..."
He looked at the candle in Song Lanyin's hand, both amused and exasperated, "Lanyin, this is a birthday cake candle."
It's a number, exactly '3'.
"There's nothing I can do, this is all I could find, as long as it's a candle!" Song Lanyin said, "I'll go get some red wine from the wine cabinet. Last time, Ashu gave me several cases of red wine to congratulate me on buying a new house!"
"Let me make this clear first, I can't hold my liquor, I'll only drink a little bit."
"It's okay, your wife can drink."
Wen Jingxi: "..."
...
Song Lanyin picked out two bottles of red wine and took out a decanter.
She first opened a bottle of red wine and poured it into a decanter to let it breathe, then went back to the kitchen to help Wen Jingxi.
Soon, both steaks were cooked.
The two sat down at the dining table.
At the dining table, candlelight should flicker gently in the wine glasses.
Song Lanyin raised her wine glass and clinked it with Wen Jingxi's, "The first glass is to celebrate our happy marriage!"
Wen Jingxi looked at him, her eyes deep, and said, "Happy marriage."
Song Lanyin raised her head and drank the red wine in her glass in one gulp.
"Drink slowly, be careful not to get drunk."
"Who are you underestimating!" Song Lanyin glanced at him. "My alcohol tolerance starts at three bottles of red wine!"
Wen Jingxi: "..."
He's so drunk after just three beers that he can't keep up with anything.
"Just take a sip, just to show off." Song Lanyin said, pouring herself another glass and raising it again. "This second glass is a wish for us to grow old together and have a baby soon!"
The wine glass clinked softly again. Wen Jingxi frowned and corrected, emphasizing, "It should be 'May you have a noble daughter soon'!"
Song Lanyin was taken aback, then smiled helplessly, "Okay, whatever you say."
She tilted her head back again and drank the red wine in her glass in one gulp.
Wen Jingxi also took a symbolic sip of red wine.
Seeing her pour herself a third glass, he couldn't help but frown. "Ayin, you haven't even had a bite of steak, you're already full from drinking all this, aren't you?"
"No, I'll eat after the third glass." Song Lanyin raised her glass again and said, "This third glass is for you."
"Respect me?" Wen Jingxi didn't understand. "Why?"
"I want to thank you for choosing me even though you knew my background and that your family might not support us." Song Lanyin looked at Wen Jingxi, her phoenix eyes gradually becoming misty.
"Wen Jingxi, thank you for coming into my life, thank you for choosing me, thank you for loving me."
Wen Jingxi looked at her, deeply moved by her words.
"Ah Yin, don't be so sentimental..." He looked at her, his Adam's apple bobbing slightly, "Otherwise, I'm afraid I won't be able to hold back again..."
Song Lanyin: "...Don't you even know what romance is?!"
Wen Jingxi smiled and clinked glasses with her, saying, "I have to finish this third glass!"
He tilted his head back, frowned, and downed the glass of red wine in one gulp.
People who aren't good at drinking can't appreciate red wine. They drink it too fast and cough incessantly, their faces turning bright red, but their eyes remain fixed on Song Lanyin, shining as brightly as stars.
Song Lanyin felt a stinging sensation in her nose, and as tears welled up, she tilted her head back, closed her eyes, and finished the red wine.
After putting down her wine glass, she took a deep breath, looked at Wen Jingxi and smiled, "This red wine is truly worthy of being a gift from A-Shu. I'm getting addicted to it."
"Eat your steak first." Wen Jingxi moved the remaining red wine in front of him. "You can drink the wine after you finish your steak."
Song Lanyin was both amused and exasperated. "Then you should at least give me a small cup to go with the steak. It's too dry to eat it on its own."
Wen Jingxi poured a small cup and handed it to her, "That's all, no more."
Song Lanyin smiled, knowing that he was doing it for her own good, so she stopped haggling.
After finishing his steak, Wen Jingxi cleaned up the dishes and put them in the kitchen, then washed some fruit and brought it to the living room.
Unexpectedly, in just a short while, Song Lanyin had finished the rest of the red wine.
At this moment, she stood in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, holding an empty wine bottle in her arms.
Wen Jingxi placed the fruit on the coffee table, walked behind her, reached out and took the empty wine bottle from her arms, and put it on the ground.
Song Lanyin was very quiet. Wen Jingxi hugged her from behind and gently kissed her ear. "Are you drunk?"
"No." Song Lanyin's voice was a little hoarse than usual after drinking, with a sexy, smoky quality. She pointed to the moon hanging high in the night sky. "The moon is so big and round. I really want to go up and see it. Everyone says that Chang'e and the Jade Rabbit live on the moon. Do you think Chang'e eats the Jade Rabbit?"
Wen Jingxi: "...Are you sure you're not drunk?"
"Bunny is so cute..." Song Lanyin said in a high-pitched, whimpering voice, "How could Chang'e eat a bunny?"
Wen Jingxi: "..." Okay, I'm really drunk.
