Chapter 685 Prenuptial Agreements and Divorce Agreements
The next day, Shen Anning notified Qi Yue to go to the law firm.
The prenuptial agreement has been drafted.
Qi Yue really is always available whenever needed.
Shen Anning notified him at 8:30 a.m., and he arrived at the law firm at 8:50 a.m.
When he arrived at the law firm, he happened to run into a food delivery guy.
The deliveryman walked up to the counter with a bouquet of white roses in his hands. "Flower delivery, please sign for it!"
Qi Yue paused, looking at the flowers in the deliveryman's hand.
Xiaoxue signed for the flowers and headed towards the office with them in her arms.
"Wait a minute," Qi Yue called out to Xiao Xue, "Are these flowers for Shen Anning?"
Xiaoxue nodded, "Yes, Mr. Qi, are you here to see Sister Anning?"
Qi Yue responded indifferently.
"Then please come with me," Xiaoxue said, walking towards the office.
Qi Yue followed Xiao Xue toward the office.
Once outside the office, Xiaoxue knocked on the door.
Shen Anning's voice came from inside, "Please come in."
Xiaoxue freed one hand to push open the door. "Sister Anning, Mr. Wen has sent flowers over again."
Upon hearing this, Qi Yue, standing behind Xiaoxue, narrowed his eyes slightly, his gaze sweeping towards Shen Anning at the desk—
Shen Anning was looking down at the documents in her hand, not even raising her head, and said only, "Find a vase to keep it in."
"Okay, I'll take it out, put it in, and bring it back to you!" Xiaoxue said, stepping aside and looking at Qi Yue respectfully, "Mr. Qi, please come in."
Qi Yue nodded slightly and stepped into the office.
Shen Anning closed the documents, stood up, and looked at Qi Yue, saying, "Please sit down, Xiaoxue. Prepare some tea and snacks for President Qi."
"Okay!"
Xiaoxue left the office carrying the bouquet of white roses.
...
Qi Yue walked to the sofa and sat down. "You and Wen Yusen haven't made things clear yet?"
Shen Anning paused in her action of picking up the agreement, then turned to look at him. "You mean the matter of us agreeing to a marriage of convenience?"
“The complete information should be,” Qi Yue stared at her and corrected her seriously, “that you are pregnant with my child and that you are about to marry me.”
Shen Anning: "..."
She walked over and handed the agreement to him, saying, "Take a look at the contents of the agreement first."
Qi Yue took the agreement. "Give me the pen."
Shen Anning frowned. "Aren't you going to take a look first?"
"Since you get to decide all the terms, does it make any difference whether I read them or not?"
“Of course,” Shen Anning said businesslike. “Even if I drafted all the terms, you, as a party to the agreement, have the right to know. Signing an agreement when both parties understand its contents is the most basic spirit of an agreement.”
Seeing how serious she was, Qi Yue gave a helpless smile and said, "Fine, you, Attorney Shen, are the most fair and rigorous."
As he spoke, Qi Yue opened the agreement and began to examine it.
The terms are actually divided into three parts. The first part concerns the personal assets of both parties, all of which must be notarized before marriage, so that the assets can be divided in case of divorce.
In addition, during the marriage, all household expenses are split equally (AA system), and personal expenses are borne by each party separately.
Qi Yue frowned and pointed to the clause about splitting the bill, saying, "Can't you change it to me paying for everything?"
Shen Anning remained expressionless. "No. I don't like owing favors."
Qi Yue's temple twitched, and he continued reading—
The second part concerns the custody of the two children. If they divorce in the future, they will follow what Shen Anning mentioned to him that day: each of them will have one child. If the children are of the same gender, they will be decided by drawing lots. If the children are of different genders, the boy will stay with him, and the girl will stay with Shen Anning.
However, a clause was added to the end of the agreement: if one party remarries and it affects the child's quality of life, the other party has the right to fight for custody of the other child.
Qi Yue pointed at the phrase "remarriage," frowned, and complained, "Why do I feel like if this were to actually happen, the person remarrying would be you?"
Shen Anning was too lazy to argue with him.
She sat down on the sofa opposite Qi Yue, looked at him expressionlessly, and said, "This clause applies to me as well, it's not meant to target you."
Qi Yue chuckled lightly and continued reading.
The third part concerns marriage. If one party has an affair, they can initiate divorce proceedings, but they cannot conceal it. If they do conceal the affair, the other party has the right to file for divorce unilaterally, and the divorce agreement will take effect immediately.
Qi Yue's eyelids twitched, and before he could ask any further questions, he heard Shen Anning say, "The document underneath is the divorce agreement. If you think it's okay, then sign both the prenuptial agreement and the divorce agreement together."
Qi Yue: "..."
This is truly an eye-opening experience.
Should a prenuptial agreement and a divorce agreement be signed together?
You probably won't find another groom-to-be as comical as him in the whole world!
Qi Yue was extremely displeased.
Is it unlucky to sign a divorce agreement before getting married?
Shen Anning looked into his eyes and replied calmly, "Then I can only say that it's all up to human effort."
Qi Yue: "..."
God the hell, things are all up to us!
Qi Yue wondered, what huge misunderstanding and prejudice does Shen Anning have about him?
With a sigh, Qi Yue still asked, unwilling to give up, "How about we don't sign the divorce agreement yet, and you give me a trial period?"
“Qi Yue.” Shen Anning looked at him, “Marrying you is a huge gamble for me. I know you can’t understand me, but I’m really giving it my all to try this marriage with you.”
Qi Yue stared blankly at Shen Anning.
She spoke so seriously that he didn't know how to react for a moment.
The plan to haggle further was abandoned.
Qi Yue eventually signed both agreements.
Shen Anning watched him sign his name, her eyes filled with complex emotions.
Qi Yue signed his name, placed the agreement and pen on the coffee table, and looked at her, "Tomorrow is a good day, let's go get the marriage certificate tomorrow?"
“The asset notarization will take time.” Shen Anning thought for a moment and said, “Let’s pick it up the day after tomorrow.”
Qi Yue thought to herself, it won't make a difference if it's just a couple more days. It's just that she's too meticulous!
The agreement was notarized item by item, but there was absolutely no affection involved!
"Okay, whatever you say." Qi Yue said, raising his hand to glance at his watch. "I have to rush back to the company for a meeting, so I'll be going now."
“Okay.” Shen Anning stood up.
"No need to see me off, just get some rest." Qi Yue glanced at her belly. "Take good care of my baby."
Shen Anning subconsciously touched her stomach, her voice very soft, "I know."
Qi Yue nodded, turned and walked out of the office.
…
The asset notarization process is progressing smoothly.
On the day they were to register their marriage, Qi Yue arrived at the Lijiang Villa early in the morning to wait.
