Chapter 39: Being Frank

"Oh." Upon hearing this, Gu Junwen stopped struggling.

No matter how anxious she was to complete the task, it was better to leave first. If she was entangled by someone, her good days would be over.

Rarely, she obediently let Ye Nanyi hold her hand and walk forward.

"Your Majesty, General Gu." Although Qin Yanzhou didn't quite understand what was going on, he still hurried over and said, "It's been a while since we last met. Would you please have a drink with me?"

"Qin Tanhua is treating me, so I'll naturally honor you." Gu Junwen had nothing to do anyway, and he had slept enough today, so it was time for him to have a good meal.

She crossed her arms in front of her chest, looking at Qin Yanzhou's pleading expression, she sighed inwardly:

Mr. Qin must have been pushing him so hard that he could get Qin Yanzhou, a stingy man, to treat him to a meal. It was so rare.

"Okay." Seeing that Gu Junwen agreed, Ye Nanyizhi also stopped.

"Then Your Majesty, Young General Gu, please come this way." Qin Yanzhou immediately smiled upon hearing that and glanced smugly at the Qin family servants who had been following him from a distance.

He didn't care about his image at all. Like a waiter, he bent down exaggeratedly and stretched out his hand to lead the two people to the other side.

After walking a few steps, I saw an elegant little building on the corner of the street. The decoration and construction of the building clearly exuded the upright and elegant style that scholars love.

Yes, that’s Qin Yanzhou’s taste.

Ye Nanyiyi and Gu Junwen looked at each other subconsciously. It was obvious that this was not the first time Qin Yanzhou came here as he was familiar with the place.

"Your Highness, Young General Gu, please feel free to order whatever you want to eat or drink." Qin Yanzhou was indeed a regular customer. He nodded to the shop owner and led the two of them upstairs.

Perhaps to show his gratitude, he personally took over the waiter's job and happily handed over the menu.

"Is this the teahouse you told me about?" Ye Nan picked up the menu, looked at it over and over again, ordered a few dishes, and suddenly spoke.

"This..." Qin Yanzhou didn't react. After a few seconds, he suddenly looked in the direction of Gu Junwen nervously, and beads of sweat seemed to be sliding down his temples.

"Are you friends in private?" Gu Junwen looked at Ye Nanyi's casual demeanor and naturally figured out something.

She even couldn't help but want to shout out her admiration. It turned out that the male protagonist was really extraordinary.

Who in Kyoto would have thought that Ye Nanyiyi and Qin Yanzhou, who had always been enemies in Kyoto and were incompatible with each other, actually had a good personal relationship.

"You can't hide it from him. He almost knows it. Just order your restaurant's specialty this month and add a pot of wine." Ye Nan handed the menu to Gu Junwen, and comforted Qin Yanzhou, who was frightened to the point of limp legs, with half disgust and half silence.

"Yes, I won't tell anyone. Qin Tanhua, since it's your teahouse, I won't be polite." Gu Junwen looked at the dazzling array of dishes on the menu and was so happy that he ordered several dishes in one breath.

"Of course, of course." Qin Yanzhou wiped the sweat from his forehead, and his face finally regained some color. He slowly fell into a chair and drank a cup of tea to calm himself.

Since the boss ordered the dishes, the dishes must be served very quickly. Soon, the dishes were served one after another. The dishes were exquisite in appearance and elegant in name, which was Qin Yanzhou's style.

"The concealment here is quite good, and Lin Lin is guarding outside. If you have anything to say, just say it." Ye Nan picked up a piece of tofu with chopsticks and chewed it slowly.

"Yes." Qin Yanzhou was so happy knowing that his life was not in danger and that he even had a great chance of getting a big financial support.

Qin Yanzhou started to talk more. He wanted to tell Gu Junwen everything he knew. "After all, here we don't have to follow my father's rules of not talking while eating or sleeping."

"Does your father know that you said that about him?" Gu Junwen looked at Qin Yanzhou curiously.

"Of course he doesn't know. As long as you don't tell me and I don't tell him, he will never know." Qin Yanzhou smiled, as if he had it all figured out.

"Your Highness, I've always wanted to ask you, are you tired?" Gu Junwen closed his eyes and savored the aroma of the dishes, and a question came out of his mouth.

During the time he spent in Kyoto, he saw that everyone in Kyoto wore several masks. The smart ones pretended to be stupid, the hypocritical ones pretended to be kind, and the sinister ones pretended to be upright.

The most terrifying thing is that all of this is tolerated and even becomes the law of survival and life-saving talisman for the people of Kyoto.

She was so nervous and addicted to acting that she was forced to pretend.

Am I tired? Ye Nanyi rarely did not retort.

To him, this question was very new. Even when his mother resolutely handed over everything to him, she never asked him if he was tired or wanted to do it.

In his memory, loneliness, pain, and other negative emotions are like drinking water, only the person who drinks it knows whether it is hot or cold.

"What about you? You took so much trouble to come all the way from Saibei to Kyoto. Aren't you trying to get the truth out? Are you tired?"

Ye Nanyi didn't answer. He chose to escape and then asked his own question.

Here it comes again. Gu Junwen held his forehead with his hand. According to the normal logic of the story, this should be the case.

However, she didn't follow the normal story logic. Not to mention whether she was tired or not.

She was also very curious about who the person was who brought her all the way to Kyoto.

Gu Junwen cleared his throat, it was time to explain it again.

Come on, victory is a win; failure is no big deal:

"Whether you believe it or not, I really didn't come here to find out the truth about the destruction of the Yebei Army. I just want to stay here forever. After all, Gu Junwen already knew the truth."

As soon as she finished speaking, it was like thunderclapping out of nowhere, and everything seemed to be frozen.

Qin Yanzhou subconsciously rushed over to close the window. He lowered his voice nervously: "My young general Gu, please don't say such nonsense. Do you know how many people are waiting for the truth?"
