Chapter 13

Chapter 13

The sounds from the pool had faded into the distance, leaving only the soft breathing of the two people here.

Yuan Chuyu suddenly turned his face away and said irrelevantly, "I didn't have a position to begin with, did I? Lin Langyi, I need at least a reason, even if it can't convince me, it can at least be used to appease others. Many times I tell myself it's just a small favor, just helping out, and I don't have any other thoughts..."

"But you can't make me look like a wishful fool."

Lin Langyi didn't follow, and she said blankly, "Huh?"

Yuan Chuyu, somewhat embarrassed, stopped looking at her and said softly, "Let's go look at the swimsuits first."

The swimsuits that were delivered were runway pieces from C brand. I received three sets in total: one was a silver halter top with full sequin embroidery in a Baroque style; another was a two-piece black and white dress with a tulle skirt that reached all the way to the calves; and the last one was an all-black one-piece swimsuit with cutouts only at the side waist, adorned with metallic comet patterns.

They were all incredibly beautiful and dazzling.

Lin Langyi took the third set without hesitation.

In competitive sports, thin straps simply can't support the chest, and the sponge always seems to sag when it absorbs water, so she has to work hard to keep pulling it up.

The same goes for that gauze skirt; wouldn't it just float on the surface of the water? It'd be like a fishing net, getting in her way and hindering her performance.

Therefore, a one-piece swimsuit is the most suitable, as you can even do the splits in the water.

She went into the dressing room to change her clothes. Before she went in, she heard Chu Hong running over and urging her, nagging and questioning whether she had deserted at the last minute.

Lin Langyi buried her head in the elastic neckline of the swimsuit, which was very tight and had excellent elasticity. She mumbled, "Coming right away, no need to wait."

There was silence outside after a short while.

Lin Langyi adjusted the fit in front of the mirror and was very satisfied with the snug fit. It felt very secure and practical, and then she walked out contentedly.

The moment I stepped out of the locker room, two men across the hall looked at me at the same time.

Chu Hongyuan's impatient words were just on the tip of his tongue when he suddenly fell silent the moment he saw Lin Langyi.

The girl was indeed very slender and tall. The tight swimsuit smoothly outlined her graceful waistline. She had a small frame, and when she wore loose clothes, her back appeared thin. However, when she put on a tight-fitting, unadorned swimsuit, her beautiful curves became apparent.

She was so fair-skinned that Chu Hong stared blankly at her exposed legs, her calves slender and straight, while her thighs had a perfectly proportioned and fleshy look, reminding him of the beautiful glass goblets his father had collected.

Lin Langyi took a step to the side.

At that moment, he suddenly noticed a patch of bright red on the upper outer side of her thigh, which looked gorgeous and alluring against her fair and delicate skin.

Chu Hong's pupils contracted slightly as he vaguely imagined that the wine glass truly contained a rich and mellow red wine.

Irregularly shaped, about the size of one and a half coins, they resemble icicles of spilled paint falling from the eaves of a winter roof.

His mind went blank for a while before he regained his senses and realized, "Oh, this is a birthmark."

"Chu Hong?"

He looked up in alarm, meeting Lin Langyi's puzzled face. The shame of being caught red-handed struck him precisely, making him panic and only want to stubbornly pretend that he hadn't seen anything.

"You, you're so ugly! What's that? A birthmark? Haha, that's hilarious... You dare to wear something like that? Couldn't you at least wear something with a skirt to cover it up...?"

His mouth moved faster than his brain could process, and he rattled off a string of words while grabbing two other swimsuits: "Does it have to be one of those form-fitting ones that show your thighs? Can't you wear something else? You look good in this sparkly one too, you..."

The moment the words left his mouth, he wanted to bite his tongue off. What was he saying? He was actually praising her?

In his panic, he scratched his head, turned his head left and right to look at the scenery, and made a series of meaningless little movements to cover up his panic. But out of the corner of his eye, he suddenly caught sight of his cousin.

Yuan Chuyu leaned against a pillar, not making a sound from beginning to end. His calm and unwavering gaze was fixed straight ahead, as if nothing had changed.

It wasn't until Lin Langyi took another step to the side and reached out to tidy up the two remaining rejected swimsuits that Chu Hong noticed his cousin's pupils move slightly and precisely to the side as she did so.

He never looked away, staring intently at her.

Like a snake lurking before feeding, it is quiet, sticky, coiling, incredibly patient, and silent.

His left hand seemed to be casually pressed on the edge of the pillar, but the veins on it were cold and bulging, as if he was trying to control something.

Chu Hong shook his head, startled by the metaphor that had suddenly popped into his head. His cousin should be a warm and gentle gentleman and the face of the family's honor, and it was impossible for him to have any connection with such dark words.

But……

Even from a distance, I could sense that burning gaze.

Such a gaze, such a gaze… Chu Hong recalled how, when he went abroad to visit Yuan Chu Yu, he insisted on going to the gun museum, and his cousin had carefully taught him how.

The instruction... it's like teaching the crosshairs on a rifle scope: hold your breath, stay calm, wait, and lock onto the target firmly without allowing any dissent.

Yuan Chuyu was so focused, so completely absorbed, that he didn't even notice that his overly impolite gaze had been noticed by others.

Chu Hong belatedly realized that such a situation, where one could be so easily seen through, should not have happened to his shrewd and worldly cousin.

Everything is so strange.

"I'm still missing a swimming cap." Lin Langyi was a little embarrassed; she really came here to play basketball properly.

Yuan Chuyu suddenly came to his senses and immediately let go of the pillar. The bulging veins on his arm did not return to normal for a while, exuding an indescribable contrast of sexiness.

His Adam's apple bobbed almost imperceptibly, then again, and when he spoke again, his voice was somewhat hoarse: "The first one comes with a matching swimming cap."

“But this swimming cap has such a long train of veil at the back, it’s only suitable for taking pictures, not for sports.” Lin Langyi said unhappily, “Is Cheng Yanjin stupid? Why did he choose a wedding dress veil? I remember the designer’s design for this was a swimsuit wedding dress.”

Yuan Chuyu suddenly stopped answering.

Chu Hong was a few years younger and his attention was quick. He quickly forgot about what had just happened and complained, "Why are you wearing a swimming cap? It doesn't look good."

Lin Langyi turned her head: "To beat you."

"You're dreaming!"

Yuan Chuyu seemed to understand Lin Langyi's teasing expression, and he asked, "You know how to play water polo?"

Lin Langyi thought for a moment, then, to be on the safe side, said, "Maybe we can play for a few sessions."

A standard water polo match consists of four quarters, each lasting eight minutes, during which players are not allowed to step on the ground or touch the walls.

However, during a match, the clock is paused when the ball goes out of bounds or a foul occurs, and an actual match lasts far longer than that due to its extreme intensity.

Not to mention the frequent and extensive physical confrontations involved.

Yuan Chuyu suddenly spoke up: "If you can win, we can discuss that matter in detail."

Lin Langyi suddenly looked up, her hand gripping the swimming cap tightly in her excitement, as if she wanted to tear it apart. She almost immediately demanded confirmation: "Are you serious?"

He nodded slightly.

Lin Langyi was overjoyed, almost overwhelmed by this incredible good news.

So these guys with their precious and delicate appearances all have peculiar personalities. They were really willing to give up their profits just now, but now they're inexplicably agreeing to a trivial bet, as if they've lost their minds.

While she was excited, she also thought with regret that, as expected, such exquisite runway designs were all show and no substance when it mattered most. She now wanted to tear off the comet-shaped trim on the side of her waist.

Why not just buy a dark blue, full-coverage athletic swimsuit from a sports brand?!

She was determined to win this match, even if it meant her death.
