Can you feel anything in Chapter 56?

"Now it's all right, right? Old Li said I'm fine, so you can all go and rest."

After hearing Li Tianbai's words, Grandma Fang looked at her daughter and grandsons.

"Yueyue, Grandma has warmed some milk for you in the kitchen. Drink a glass of milk tonight so you can sleep better."

Grandma Fang then looked at Wen Xingyue, who no longer seemed sleepy.

According to Tingxiao and the others, Yueyue needs to drink a glass of milk before going to sleep every night, so the old man specially asked them to buy some when he went out in the afternoon.

"Okay, thank you, Grandma."

Wen Xingyue's eyes crinkled with laughter as she sweetly thanked him.

"Mr. Li, did you hear what my wife said?"

With Li Tianbai's assurance and after Grandma Fang's repeated persuasion, the others finally dispersed to rest.

Only Huo Tingxiao and Li Tianbai remained.

"That's my little apprentice."

Li Tianbai did not give a direct answer, but only left this sentence.

But Huo Tingxiao understood.

Li Tianbai will not tell anyone.

Xingyue is his apprentice, and he will protect her.

"Old Li, do you know Pei Zhiming?" Huo Tingxiao asked, looking at Li Tianbai as he returned to his room.

Under his watchful gaze, he keenly noticed Li Tianbai's slight pause in his steps.

“That’s my grandson. I’m deliberately keeping him from finding me. I don’t want to go back. You can tell him where I am, but I won’t leave.”

Li Tianbai knew Huo Tingxiao was clever. He turned around, his weathered eyes calm and indifferent.

He's very worried about you.

Upon receiving confirmation, Huo Tingxiao thought about how his friend had been searching for him all these years.

All I can do is sigh at the twists of fate.

He never expected that the old man he bumped into today was actually his good friend's grandfather.

Huo Tingxiao was unaware of what had happened between Li Tianbai and his friend's family; he only spoke of what he knew.

"Hmm." Li Tianbai's emotions were indifferent towards his grandson, showing no fluctuation.

...

The night passed peacefully.

“Tingxiao, Yueyue loves to eat this. I fried some for her this morning. Take it back with you when you go back this afternoon. This is something I cooked this morning. I saw that Yueyue likes canned yellow peaches. Take it back for Yueyue as a snack.”

When Wen Xingyue came downstairs, her grandmother downstairs had prepared a lot of things. There was a bag next to her, and she was stuffing things into it. The bag, which had been empty, was now stuffed full.

"Yueyue is awake. What do you want to eat? Grandma will make it for you. Grandma made shrimp wontons this morning. Do you want some?"

Footsteps sounded on the stairs, and Grandma Fang, who was tidying up, smiled so much that the wrinkles at the corners of her eyes narrowed together.

Grandpa Fang sat on the sofa with a newspaper in his hand. His wife was alright last night. He had stayed by her side all night until dawn. Only then did he breathe a sigh of relief, and the worry on his face slowly faded. Looking at his wife, who was busy and never stopped, his eyes were filled with a deep smile.

"Thank you, Grandma."

When Wen Xingyue heard the word "wonton," she thought of how delicious it was: thin wrappers wrapped around tender pink meat, with a large shrimp inside. One bite and the savory broth would burst out. Just thinking about it made her mouth water.

Grandma Fang instructed Huo Tingxiao to pack the things, then turned and went into the kitchen to get busy.

Boil water, then add thin-skinned, meaty wontons and a few pieces of greens. Wait for the wontons to cook.

While waiting for the wontons to cook, she took out a porcelain bowl, added a little soy sauce, a little lard, and some chopped green onions, and the soup was ready.

...

Outside.

Where are Mom and Dad?

Wen Xingyue looked around but didn't see Huo's parents, so she went to Huo Tingxiao's side.

“My parents went back to work this morning, and we went back this afternoon after having lunch.”

Huo Tingxiao zipped up the bag and replied to her.

My parents stayed by my grandmother's side all night, and by morning, she was fine. Later, my grandparents persuaded them to go back to work.

Since Xingyue was still asleep, they didn't plan to wake her. They would wait until she woke up before going back.

They were all busy with work before, and even though they lived in the same place and the journey was only half an hour, they rarely came over unless there was something important.

Now that they have some free time, they can spend more time with their grandparents.

Once Huo Tingjun starts school, and his leg has healed, he'll have to return to the army. Then fewer people will come over.

"And what about my master?"

Wen Xingyue was getting anxious because she couldn't find Li Tianbai.

Where is her master? She can't have run away, can she?

“Old Li went back with my parents. He wants to find a house around here. He went back to look for a house before us. We can find him anytime when we get back.”

Huo Tingxiao explained.

"Then let's go back and find him. I don't know if Master has any money."

Wen Xingyue was relieved, at least her master hadn't run away.

That was my first master; I would be heartbroken if he lost me.

"What about Little Fatty?"

Wen Xingyue asked again.

Little Fatty is nowhere to be seen.

Wen Xingyue has gotten used to seeing Xiao Pang every morning when she wakes up, but she's still a little unaccustomed to not seeing him after waking up for so long today.

"He went out shopping with his aunt."

Huo Tingxiao patiently answered her questions one by one.

"oh oh."

Okay, Wen Xingyue won't ask anymore.

"Huh? What are you doing?"

Her chubby cheeks were being pinched by two slender, slightly calloused hands. Her lips were slightly pouting as she looked at him with a puzzled expression.

"You asked so many people, why didn't you ask me?"

Huo Tingxiao pinched her cheek, his deep eyes fixed on her. He had been hearing all sorts of people's names from her since early morning.

The little peach blossom spirit has chubby cheeks that feel very comfortable to touch.
