"Dr. Wen, my wife says she has a stomachache, could you please take a look?"
Two years have passed in the blink of an eye, and Wen Xingyue's clinic is now bustling with patients.
A man covered in sweat rushed into the clinic carrying a woman in his arms, and the people queuing for treatment all made way for them.
The man squeezed to the counter with his wife in his arms. His wife was covered in sweat, pale, and had her hand on her stomach. She looked like she was about to faint. "Dr. Wen, please, please save my wife."
Wen Xingyue quickly came out from behind the counter, walked around to the couple, and reached out to take the woman's pulse.
"Your wife is pregnant. She just ate too much cold food, which upset her body. Please put her on this bed quickly."
Upon closer inspection, Wen Xingyue's expression turned serious.
"A child? We have a child? Dr. Wen, Dr. Wen, please save my child!"
The woman, who was originally feeling unwell and leaning against the man's arms, struggled to look at Wen Xingyue with reddened eyes after hearing that she was pregnant.
"Blood... there's blood!" Someone with sharp eyes spotted the blood seeping from under the woman's body.
"Xiaoxue! Dr. Wen, Dr. Wen, please!"
Seeing the blood seeping out, the man's legs went weak, and he knelt down directly in front of Wen Xingyue.
If it weren't for the fact that it's difficult to kowtow while holding one's wife, even the men would kowtow.
"Quickly put her on the bed to the side."
Wen Xingyue pointed to the rest room that had been partitioned off on one side.
"Okay...okay, Dr. Wen, please, save my wife. It's okay if the baby is lost, as long as my wife is alright."
The man jumped up from the ground and quickly walked to the bed on the side.
Wen Xingyue quickly went to get the first-aid kit.
"Brother Ye... I want my child... Dr. Wen, please, you must help me save my child, I'll pay any price..."
The woman looked at Wen Xingyue with red eyes.
The woman was quickly placed on the bed, while the man watched with a worried expression; his white shirt was stained with blood.
The snow-white sheets were also stained with blood.
Wen Xingyue quickly ran over, holding a bag of silver needles in her hand. She bent down and took out several needles to prick the woman's hands and arms.
Soon, everyone noticed that the blood from under the woman's body had stopped seeping out.
"The bleeding has stopped! Dr. Wen is truly a miracle doctor; he stopped the bleeding with just a few needles."
"Yes, yes, it's stopped, it's stopped! Can we save the baby?"
"It's hard to say. With so much blood loss, my cousin had a similar experience. She was taken to the hospital, but she lost both her baby and herself."
Everyone started to speak.
"Dr. Wen, please! Save my wife."
Upon hearing this, the man's legs went weak, and he looked at Wen Xingyue in horror.
"Draw the curtains." Wen Xingyue didn't have time to reply to him, but simply directed the man to draw the curtains of the lounge.
The man quickly did as instructed.
Once the curtain is drawn, people from the outside world are isolated.
Only murmurs of discussion remained.
"Dr. Wen, please, save my child. We've been married for ten years and finally had a child. I don't want to lose her, even if it costs me my life."
The woman lying on the bed had a look of despair in her eyes. She grabbed Wen Xingyue's hand, which was still bloody, and pleaded desperately.
"Xueyao, don't talk nonsense, you are the most important." The man shook his head in a hoarse voice.
"...Save your energy, don't talk, we can save it."
As Wen Xingyue administered acupuncture, she listened to their heartfelt farewells and expressions of grief, a dark line appearing on her forehead.
Did she say she couldn't save it?
"Really? Dr. Wen!"
Chen Xueyao looked at Wen Xingyue with red eyes.
Mu Linye also looked up at Wen Xingyue in shock.
"Dr. Wen...I hope my wife is alright."
He stammered as he inquired about his wife's condition.
They had just returned from abroad. They had been living abroad for a long time, and now that they were back, they saw many new and interesting things in China. They hadn't eaten Chinese food in a long time, so the couple didn't watch what they ate. But then the wife suddenly said she had a stomachache, and her face turned pale instantly. Mu Linye was terrified and asked around for the nearest hospital.
He found out that the nearest clinic was very popular, so he immediately brought his wife there.
"Hmm," Wen Xingyue responded faintly, turning her head to call out to the outside of the curtain.
"Xiao Qiao, brew a bowl of nourishing medicine."
"Okay, Sister Wen."
Outside, Xiao Qiao, who worked at the clinic, responded and quickly went off to get busy.
Does your stomach still hurt?
Wen Xingyue then turned to look at Chen Xueyao, who was lying on the hospital bed.
"No...it doesn't hurt anymore...my baby is still here, right?"
Chen Xueyao felt around for a moment and realized that her stomach no longer hurt. She looked up at Wen Xingyue with a hopeful look in her eyes.
She was eating ice cream when she suddenly felt a stomachache.
She never imagined she was pregnant. The two had been married for ten years, and because of her cold constitution, the doctor said that she basically had no chance of having children. She never expected that she would be pregnant now.
"It's been saved for now, but the situation isn't good. You need to be very careful and absolutely avoid strenuous work or heavy labor. You should rest well during this period and ideally stay at home."
I'll prescribe two doses of medicine for you later; please take them as directed when you get home.
Wen Xingyue told the truth.
"Okay, okay," Chen Xueyao replied repeatedly.
Mu Linye also kept Wen Xingyue's words in mind.
"Rest here for a while. Your body is naturally prone to feeling cold, and you've been indulging in cold and raw foods lately, which has taken a toll on your health. Today, you've been eating a lot of icy things, which almost caused a miscarriage. Remember, you absolutely must not touch anything cold during this period. Eat more nourishing foods, like chicken soup, soybean and pig's trotter soup, eggs..."
