Chapter 13: Knock on the Door

After driving away his three unfilial sons, Fumanshan closed the gate tightly.

Jiang Fengxia brought out a pot of fried food, which included mung bean balls, lotus root boxes, and sweet potato boxes. They were golden and fragrant.

"Zhaodi, Pandi, come and have something to eat first."

The two sisters have gained some weight recently. They sat obediently at the low table, holding hands. Zhaodi picked up a sweet potato box and took a small bite.

sweet!

"Milk! It's so sweet! You should eat it too!" Zhaodi picked it up and brought it to Jiang Fengxia's mouth.

Jiang Fengxia took a bite and said, "Good boy, save some for yourself, there are still several kinds!"

Zhaodi nodded vigorously, and did not forget to tell Pandi to eat less.

Fu Baoer lay on the kang in despair, smelling the smell, and even didn't miss her godmother who would come to feed her in a while.

She was worried about when she would grow up. She felt that her current life was even worse than Heiwa's!

Heiwa was rewarded with a piece of boiled meat!

Jiang Fengxia took out all the fried food and placed it on a colander to dry, then went to the backyard to get the meat.

The big chunks of pork were attractive in color and fragrant. Jiang Fengxia couldn't help but take a bite.

I picked out a few pieces and put them out, added some fried fish, toon sprouts, and spinach fish on the plate, and put the rest in the kitchen to eat during the New Year.

The two elders and their two granddaughters had a delicious meal, which made Pan Di's little belly full.

It was like a life lived by a god. Zhaodi thought to herself that she would be good to her grandparents in the future. When she went to school, studied, and made money, she would be the first to honor her grandparents.

After finishing the meal and cleaning up, Song Fang came to feed the baby on time.

Fubaoer was feeding listlessly, his mind full of delicious meat and fried food.

Song Fang tapped her goddaughter's forehead in amusement. She was only four months old, yet how could she have such rich expressions?

Jiang Fengxia found two clean large bowls, put two large pieces of meat in them, added a full bowl of fried food, and picked up a little of everything.

"Fang, take it back and eat it. Your uncle is lucky this year. He picked up a lot of wild game in the mountains and brought it to the city to exchange for some things. You have to do it secretly, don't let anyone see you."

How could Song Fang dare to accept it? "Auntie, how can this be possible? There are so many good things, you and my uncle should keep them for yourselves, they will last for a long time."

Jiang Fengxia found another small backpack and put the meat and fried food in it. "If you don't want it, Auntie will be angry. You are Bao'er's godmother, just like my daughter. What's wrong with me making some food for my own daughter?"

Seeing Jiang Fengxia's unyielding look, Song Fang felt warm in her heart. Her family favored boys over girls and didn't care much about her, but she was lucky enough to marry a good husband and have good parents-in-law. Now she has a goddaughter, and Jiang Fengxia is always very nice to her every time she comes.

"Auntie, from now on I will call you godmother. Youpeng and I will take care of you and my uncle until we die!"

Jiang Fengxia readily agreed and handed the small backpack to Song Fang. "That's great! We'll be even closer now."

Song Fang did not refuse this time. She knelt down and kowtowed to Jiang Fengxia, "Then I will go back first, godmother."

Jiang Fengxia sent Song Fang out and returned to the house to look at her sleeping granddaughter. "Your godmother is a good person. When your grandparents are old and gone, you'll have a place to go when you return home."

This is why Jiang Fengxia and Fu Manshan are so kind to the Chen family. They have good character and are honest people. Since Song Fang has adopted Baoer as her goddaughter, she will definitely not ignore Baoer in the future.

Fu Baoer didn't really fall asleep. When she heard her grandmother's words, her heart ached. With Baoer around, there would be no problem for her grandparents to live to be a hundred years old.

.

In the afternoon, Feng Guiying brought Song Fang to the Fu family again. She held Jiang Fengxia's hand and didn't know what to say.

Seeing so many good things, she was really moved. Chen Zhifang was a conscientious secretary. Other families collected good things from the mountains and brought them to the city to exchange for food and meat, but only their old man was very old-fashioned, so the Chen family's life was really difficult.

"Sister-in-law, I really don't know how to repay you. There's nothing worth giving at home."

Jiang Fengxia patted Feng Guiying and said, "Why are you saying this? If you and the secretary hadn't found this house for us and sent us quilts, mattresses, pots and pans, we would have frozen to death long ago."

Chen Zhifang's family has helped the old couple a lot, and they all remember this kindness.

The three of them were chatting in the room and teasing Baoer. After a while, Zhaodi walked in with Pandi who was crying loudly.

Jiang Fengxia was shocked. "What's wrong? Why are you crying like this? Oh? Where are your cotton-padded jackets, Zhaodi?"

The two children were shivering from the cold. Jiang Fengxia quickly went into the house and took out a blanket to wrap them up. "Zhao Di, tell me, what's going on?"

"Grandma! Pan Di and I were playing hide-and-seek outside. I couldn't find my sister, so Aunt Wang told me that my mother had taken Pan Di away. I chased her, but she insisted that the cotton-padded jacket we were wearing was hers, and then... then... then... "

As Zhaodi spoke, she began to cry and gasped for breath, but she didn't say the rest of the words, and everyone present understood.

Fu Baoer once again refreshed her understanding of the best mother.

"Damn it!" Jiang Fengxia was furious. "Let's go! Let's go find your mother!"

Feng Guiying and Song Fang were afraid that they would fight again, so they hurriedly followed behind. They were speechless in their hearts. How could there be such shameless people who even snatched children's clothes?

Fu Baoer was afraid that his grandmother would suffer, so he quickly called Heiwa, who was wandering around the mountains with Fu Manshan.

Heiwa's ears pricked up, he barked twice, and ran back. Fumanshan thought something had happened, so he threw the wild yam in his hand into the basket and followed closely.

Over here in the old house of the Fu family, Li Ying was cutting Zhaodi's clothes with scissors. She planned to make a new cotton coat for her youngest son. I don't know where these two old guys got such good cotton.
