Chapter 221: Life Has Joys and Sorrows

The moon waxes and wanes, and people have joys and sorrows, separations and reunions. In the past few years, Fu Baoer has seen off the Shen family's grandparents, and then Fu Manshan and Jiang Fengxia.

When Shen Xiuqi died, he grabbed Shen Suizhi and Fu Baoer's hands and held them tightly together. He could no longer speak, but the meaning in his eyes was self-evident.

He hopes that his grandson and Baoer can live a good life.

The day after Shen Xiuqi left, Wen Sihui followed him. The old couple had experienced many ups and downs in their lives and loved each other all their lives, so they wanted to keep Shen Xiuqi company when he passed away.

Ever since their death, Fu Baoer's heart has never been at peace. Sometimes he wakes up from dreams at night, dreaming that Fu Manshan and Jiang Fengxia passed away suddenly and they didn't even see them for the last time.

Fu Baoer simply took Chen Suizhi and Fu Tangtang to live with her grandparents. She was always worried.

Fu Manshan, on the other hand, had become more open-minded. He felt both amused and annoyed at his granddaughter's fearful look. He thought that living to a hundred years old was truly a perfect life. How many people were like them, so healthy and comfortable?

He had a hunch that it would happen in these few days.

.

That night, Fu Manshan and Jiang Fengxia, who had not had a dream for decades, dreamed of the immortal old man who changed their lives.

Fu Manshan dreamed that he was walking in a fairyland shrouded in clouds and mist. There was no one around, only gorgeous rainbows and light and shadows. He looked around curiously and thought he was dead.

He walked and walked until he came to a sacred palace. The kind-looking old immortal was looking at him with a smile, stroking his beard with one hand and holding a whisk in the other.

Fu Manshan immediately knelt before him and kowtowed respectfully: "God, I kowtow to you!"

The immortal master just raised his hand and Fumanshan stood up from the ground.

"Master Fu, there's no need to be so polite."

Fu Manshan was terrified. He didn't know he was still dreaming. "Am I... am I dead? Is this heaven?"

The immortal laughed heartily, walked down and stood in front of Fu Manshan, saying with relief: "Don't worry, you are still in a dream, I just sent you a message in the dream."

Fu Manshan remembered that when Baoer was little, he and his wife often had dreams.

"Your life has been fulfilled, and your time is up. Please call your family back as soon as possible." After the immortal said this, he floated away.

Fu Manshan raised his hand and wanted to call out to the immortal master, but the other party disappeared in the blink of an eye. He sighed and wanted to ask the old woman how long she could live.

While he was sighing, Fumanshan looked again and found that he had woken up. The room was dark and Jiang Fengxia was lying next to him, looking at him with her eyes wide open.

"Old man..."

"Old woman..."

As soon as they looked at each other, they knew that they were dreaming.

Jiang Fengxia's dream was almost the same, except that the immortal master also said that she and the old man were mortals and had not done any great deeds, so they could not go to heaven after death. However, considering their contribution to raising the Koi fairy, the immortal master sent them to gain experience for another lifetime. After their merits were fulfilled, they might see their granddaughter again one day.

The old couple did not expect to become gods in the future, but they were willing to go through a few more lifetimes of trials and tribulations, let alone experience them, just to see Fu Baoer again.

"Call the children back tomorrow. It's time." Fu Manshan held his old wife's hand, feeling a little reluctant. There were too many concerns in this world, and he couldn't let go of any of them.

The next morning, Fu Manshan and Jiang Fengxia each put on their newly made clothes, and sat at the eight-immortals table in the main hall with rosy faces.

When Fu Baoer got up and saw this scene, her heart skipped a beat. Although her grandparents looked good, she had a feeling that it might happen in the next two days.

"Grandpa, grandma, you..." Fu Baoer didn't want to cry, but couldn't help but shed tears.

Jiang Fengxia waved her hand lovingly, "Why are you crying? We are fine."

Fu Baoer leaned on Jiang Fengxia's knees, crying silently, "I can't bear to leave you, please don't go."

Fu Baoer can't let go of the decades of living together.

"My child, everyone must go. Grandma and I have lived long enough and are content," Jiang Fengxia said, caressing her granddaughter's hair. "Seeing that you both have loved ones and children, your grandfather and I are relieved. We won't have to worry about you being left alone to take care of us when we get there."

Fu Baoer went from crying silently to sobbing softly, but when she heard these words, she couldn't help but burst into tears.

"No, you can't leave! You haven't seen Tangtang graduate from college, haven't seen her get married and have children, how can you leave!"

Fu Manshan knew that he would not be able to wait for this day, so he could only comfort his granddaughter, "Your grandmother and I have lived a life that is worth it. We have suffered hardships and enjoyed happiness. We have also had you filial children to accompany us. What is there to be dissatisfied about? My dear child, don't cry. Grandpa hopes you will be happy."

Fu Baoer lay there, unable to control her tears.

Shen Sui came over after hearing the sound, squatted down and patted Baoer's shoulder, "Okay, get up first and have breakfast with grandpa and grandma."

Fu Baoer calmed down and wiped her tears, "I'll go cook."

After his granddaughter left the house, Fu Manshan asked Shen to sit down. He was very satisfied with his grandson-in-law and could not find any fault with him.

"Then, call them and ask them to come back. If you're late, it might be too late."

Shen Suizhi agreed sadly. Shen Xiuqi and Wen Sihui had just left, and the family was about to face another separation. How could the younger generations like them accept it calmly?

I notified everyone at home, and without exception, they all said to return as soon as possible. If I was a step late, I might regret it for the rest of my life.

When everyone was present, Fu Manshan and Jiang Fengxia finally let out the breath they had been holding on to, and lay down on the bed holding hands.

Looking at these children, each of them is a dragon among the best, the two elders feel very proud.

Fu Xiuzhi held her parents' hands and burst into tears.

"Seeing that you are all here, we can finally close our eyes." Fu Manshan smiled, without any regrets.

Fu Xiuzhi knelt in the front, with Shen Qiaosheng next to her, followed by Fu Baoer's family, Zhaozhao, Panpan and others, Chengru, Chengjie, and Chengcai knelt at the end with his wife and daughter. The spacious hall was full of people kneeling.

The cries of grief echoed one after another, and the air was filled with the smell of sorrow.

Fu Tianyun and Zhao Li kowtowed three times outside the gate, too embarrassed to go in. His eldest brother and third brother were all gone, and he, the second oldest, still wanted to come and see his parents off for the last time.

The two of them kowtowed and left without disturbing anyone inside.

Fu Manshan and Jiang Fengxia had smiles on their faces and held hands tightly, with no regrets in their lives.

After seeing her grandparents off, Fu Baoer stayed alone in Dongtian Mansion for a whole day. Except for Heiwa, no one else was there.

In the long years that followed, Heiwa was the only one left. Fubaoer held her beloved dog's head and felt confused about her future life for the first time.
