Chapter 5 Baoer's Dream

That night, the family of three, having eaten and drunk their fill, fell into a deep sleep again.

In the dream, Fumanshan had a chicken in his left hand, a duck in his right hand, and his neck was full of various foods. He was so happy that he couldn't stop smiling, and he kept kowtowing to the white-bearded old man who was flying away into the sky.

The fairy said that he would come to their house from time to time to bring food. They only needed to take good care of the little fairy baby, eat and drink enough, stay healthy, and be happy physically and mentally.

But this matter must not be spread outside, otherwise they will lose everything they have now.

Fu Manshan was terrified and repeatedly promised that he would not tell anyone.

Similarly, Jiang Fengxia also dreamed of a magical scene while sleeping.

She stayed in a warm house, lying on a kang piled with gold and silver, rolling around in joy. With so much money, she could buy so much food, meat, eggs, vegetables...

Her baby granddaughter was also kicking her legs and laughing, holding a red koi in her hand!

Fumanshan was kicked awake by his wife, and his sweet dream was interrupted. He was righteous, but suddenly found that he actually had a hen and a duck in his hands. There were also some meat, vegetables, oil, salt, sauce, vinegar, onion, ginger, garlic, star anise, pepper and other spices hanging around his neck. Fumanshan's neck was bent by the weight.

"Old woman! Wake up!" Fu Manshan's hands were both occupied and he was reluctant to let go of either of them, so he could only kick his wife with his feet.

Jiang Fengxia turned over and pushed Fu Manshan's feet away impatiently, muttering "Don't bother me". However, the next second, she seemed to realize something and sat up suddenly.

"Oh my God! Gold!" Jiang Fengxia raised her hand and showed it to Fu Manshan, "The gold in my dream is real!"

"Look, old man, there are still some wooden boards. These are given to us by the gods because they sympathize with our broken house and are used to repair it!" Jiang Fengxia was so excited that she didn't know where to put her hands.

The two of them stared at what was in each other's hands, their eyes wide open, so excited that they didn't even dare to speak.

Fu Baoer, who was sleeping soundly beside her, smiled sweetly. It was just a dream. The Koi clan could also do that. They just needed to go to the blessed land and pray sincerely and everything would be fine.

In order to be able to take things out often in the future, Fu Baoer took great pains.

.

The next morning, Jiang Fengxia prepared a sumptuous breakfast. Previously, she thought that it was a blessing from the gods and they should use it sparingly, but after hearing what the old man said last night, they decided to live a good life and not let the gods down.

The two elders had a delicious breakfast of vegetable and shredded pork noodles and some simply fried shredded potatoes.

After Fumanshan had eaten, he used wooden boards to patch up the leaks in the house. He also found some materials and built a simple chicken coop and duck coop in the backyard. He could raise the chickens and ducks from last night and keep them for laying eggs in the future.

Jiang Fengxia also asked them to put the food and daily necessities away properly. As for the piece of gold, it was buried in a loose brick under the kang.

"I'm going to the city tomorrow," Fu Manshan said, looking around the warmer house with satisfaction. "These things must have come from somewhere."

Jiang Fengxia also agreed. Although the items were not many, they really couldn't afford to take them out, especially the chickens and ducks in the backyard. They were too obvious. "Let's just say it was given by the boss. He won't be coming back anyway, so no one will know."

"Well, it's a good thing for this bastard to have a good reputation."

"Let's put it this way first. We can always think of other ways later."

After a while, Song Fang came to feed Fubaoer and brought cornmeal and a small piece of meat.

"Auntie, this is something my mother gave to you," Song Fang stuffed it into Jiang Fengxia's hands. "It's not much, please don't despise it."

How could Jiang Fengxia despise it? Although the family had everything they needed, others didn't know about it. Anyone who could send food at this time was a timely help.

"Tell your mother not to send you food anymore. We gave you meat for Bao'er. It was selfish."

Song Fang smiled and said, "Auntie, please don't say that. If it weren't for this meal of meat, our daughter would have starved."

After feeding Fubaoer, Song Fang coaxed her to sleep.

Fu Baoer really wanted to sleep. Her body was too weak. If she hadn't drunk the water from the fairy river, she would definitely not have been able to hold on.

After seeing Song Fang off, Jiang Fengxia cleaned the house and started to deal with the pheasant.

First, remove the feathers from the pheasant, wash it, chop it into pieces, and then put it into a pot of cold water and boil it. This pheasant is different from domestic chicken. It has little fat and is all lean meat. It has a stronger fishy smell, so it must be blanched in water to remove the fishy smell.

Jiang Fengxia rinsed the chicken pieces and began to heat the oil. She had no shortage of these things now, and for the sake of the gods' words to take good care of herself, she was willing to add oil and ingredients.

Use hot oil to fry the scallions and ginger until fragrant, then add the tangerine peel and star anise, and finally pour in the chicken pieces.

The fragrance filled the small kitchen. Jiang Fengxia opened the back window and the smell spread to the backyard. The backyard was connected to the mountain and there was no one around, so she was not afraid of others smelling it.

Finally, add some soy sauce, salt and water, cover the pot, simmer for half an hour, then turn to high heat to reduce the sauce, and it’s almost done.

I originally wanted to make chicken soup, but I felt that pheasant meat was not fat and would not taste good after stewing it. It would be better to make fried chicken. I would wait until the old man went to the city tomorrow to exchange some old hens and then make soup for Song Fang to nourish her.

Fu Manshan came down from the back mountain and picked up some firewood. As soon as he entered the yard, he smelled the fragrant aroma of fried chicken. He took a deep breath and felt that this was the most comfortable day he had lived in more than forty years.

"Old man, you're back just in time," Jiang Fengxia filled a large bowl with meat and handed it to Fu Manshan, "Take this to the Chen family, and I'll make some pancakes for you."

Fu Manshan took it and hid it in his backpack, then found a lid to cover it to block out the smell. "Let's stir-fry some vegetables, otherwise our stomachs won't be able to handle it. After all, we haven't had any meat in a long time."

"Yes, yes, I'll stir-fry some rapeseed. The dish that guy gave me last night is so fresh."

In order to avoid gossip, the two of them changed the word "god" to "that person". When Fu Baoer heard them say this for the first time in the morning, she really wanted to laugh out loud, but unfortunately she couldn't.

Fu Manshan went to Chen's house and brought back an old quilt, some of Daya's clothes and a mattress.

As soon as Fu Baoer woke up, she saw her grandfather making the bed with a quilt and a mattress to cover her. She immediately remembered what she had forgotten.

Grandpa and grandma’s quilts, clothes, the broken furniture in the house, and even this house, all need to be replaced!

There is still a long way to go, Fu Baoer sighed in his heart.

If she wasn't afraid of taking it out all at once and having to explain it to others, she really wanted to move right into a comfortable blue brick and tile house, lay out a warm quilt, and wear a thick cotton-padded jacket.

But the two elders of the Fu family don’t think so. They are very satisfied with their current life. What worries them most is how to sell that small gold bar?
