"Dad! Mom! Go and check! Something happened in the third brother's house!" Fu Tianyun stumbled in, his voice trembling.
Zhao Li went to Fu Tianming's yard early in the morning, intending to borrow an egg. However, no one answered the door when she knocked. It was quiet inside, without a sound at all.
Zhao Li quickly called her husband, and the two of them broke into the house and found three adults and three children lying on the ground, their lives unknown!
Fu Tianyun felt even more uneasy when he thought of his brother's pale face. He almost pleaded with Jiang Fengxia, "Mom, please go check on him. Tianming...he might be dead!"
Jiang Fengxia's heart skipped a beat. Dead? Why would he die when he was perfectly fine? Were these people up to something, trying to trick her into losing her relationship with the old man? Not long ago, Fu Tianming had come to borrow money, but Fu Manshan had beaten him out!
She doesn't trust these sons!
"He's dead, what does it have to do with us?" Jiang Fengxia impatiently closed the door. "If there's really something wrong, it's no use looking for me! Go to the hospital quickly!"
Fu Tianyun didn't expect Jiang Fengxia to be so cruel, "Mom! Don't regret it! Tianming is your own son!"
After leaving these words, Fu Tianyun hurried to find Doctor Yu in the village. Jiang Fengxia told the old man what had happened, but neither of them was sure what had happened.
Fu Baoer poked his head out of the house and volunteered to go and take a look.
"You! You just like to join in the fun!" Jiang Fengxia had no idea what to do with her granddaughter.
Fu Baoer giggled and ran out like the wind. When she arrived at Fu Tianming's house, she found that it was already full of people. Doctor Yu came very quickly and was almost dragged into the house by Fu Tianyun.
Relying on her small size, Fu Baoer squeezed into the innermost part. She only took a look and thought to herself that something was wrong. Fu Tianyun was not lying. Something really happened. These people were breathing out more than breathing in.
Sure enough, Doctor Yu took their pulses, opened everyone's mouths and eyelids, pressed their upper abdomens, and examined them carefully. His expression became increasingly serious. "This isn't good. This is food poisoning. We need to rush to the hospital. I'll induce vomiting first. You guys go arrange a car!"
"Someone, help me!" Doctor Yu first turned Li Ying, the most seriously ill, to a side-lying position. He lifted her right arm and placed it beside her head, and placed her left hand on her right shoulder. He then tilted her cheek so that her mouth was in a low position. "Putting her like this will prevent her from choking when she vomits."
Doctor Yu used a spoon to stimulate the root of Li Ying's tongue. After scraping it several times, the unconscious Li Ying finally couldn't control herself and vomited.
Doctor Yu took a quick look and found that the person had indeed eaten poisonous mushrooms. Fortunately, he provided timely rescue, otherwise he would have died if he was sent to the hospital. Apart from Li Ying, Fu Chengcai was the most seriously poisoned.
The other people didn't vomit much, especially Zhou Xueyan.
A thought flashed through Fu Bao'er's mind: food poisoning, why did it sound so familiar? Had she heard of it somewhere before?
But before she had time to think about it, several people rushed in from outside. Under the command of Doctor Yu, they lifted several people on the ground and put them onto the ox cart.
When the people carrying Zhou Xueyan passed by, Fu Baoer noticed with his sharp eyes that there was no panic on Zhou Xueyan's face, nor was there any worry about the child. Instead, she kept looking at Li Ying.
It can't be that they're just "sisters" and worried about her getting into trouble, right? There has to be something fishy going on here!
"I want to go too!" Fu Baoer didn't hesitate for long and climbed onto the ox cart nimbly. "Godmother! Go tell my grandma!"
Song Fang was surprised by Fu Bao'er's behavior. By the time she realized what was happening, the ox cart had already left without waiting for anyone. "You kid! Why are you joining in the fun?"
"Is this child still thinking about her mother?" The onlookers were puzzled. "I don't believe it."
"There are so many people in the city. It would be unsafe for her to go there alone. Who would be able to take care of her?"
Who said it wasn't? Song Fang stamped her feet anxiously, "I'll punish you when you come back!"
Fu Baoer sat next to Zhou Xueyan, not minding the sour smell on the people, and whispered to Doctor Yu, "Grandpa Yu, did they eat poisonous mushrooms?"
Yu Shihui glanced at Fu Baoer in surprise. He hadn't expected this little girl, despite her young age, to be so observant. "That's right. Of the six people, two ate more, and four ate less. And they were different kinds of mushrooms."
Fu Baoer noticed Zhou Xueyan's hand moving unnaturally. She thought for a moment and asked, "Grandpa Yu, if we had discovered it too late today, or if we hadn't rescued them in time, would Li Ying and Chengcai have died?"
Yu Shihui nodded. To be honest, they were lucky to have made it this far. "It was just a little bit more, and these two people would have been dead. Even if they were sent to the hospital, it would have been too late."
Zhou Xueyan's eyelids moved, but she couldn't escape Fu Baoer's eyes.
Sure enough, there was something fishy. Fu Baoer suddenly remembered that Zhou Xueyan was trafficked to the mountains and her husband's family died of food poisoning!
What a vicious mind, what a cruel method, he even dared to kill himself and his child! Fu Baoer was convinced. She deliberately asked Yu Shihui: "Grandpa Yu, this is not a trivial matter. Should we tell the police?"
Yu Shihui was stunned. Wasn't it just that the family was ignorant and ate the wrong poisonous mushrooms? It was May, and mushrooms were growing!
"Are you saying someone deliberately poisoned me?" If that was the case, Yu Shihui felt the matter was serious. "We must tell the police!"
"No! How can I tell the police!" Zhou Xueyan couldn't hold it in any longer and propped herself up to sit up. "No matter how serious the matter is, we have to contact the police. What do you have to do with it, kid? What do you mean by poisoning or not? Stop talking nonsense!"
Fu Baoer glanced at her sinisterly and said, "Why are you so nervous? I'm just a kid and don't understand. I was just saying it casually. If no one poisoned me, it's fine. But if someone has bad intentions, she must be punished!"
Yu Shihui suddenly clenched the bags in his hands. He was planning to take them to the hospital for testing. He realized something was amiss. Why was Zhou Xueyan so nervous? As if she'd done something wrong.
Zhou Xueyan felt a little embarrassed, and started to moan again. Seeing that neither Fu Baoer nor Yu Shihui paid any attention to her, she had to lie down again, close her eyes and pretend to rest.
Sun Danniu, who was lying beside her, had actually woken up early. Recalling the tragic death of her father and grandparents that year, the eleven-year-old girl suddenly understood many things. She carefully squeezed Zhou Xueyan's hand, and when she saw the other party open her eyes, she glanced at Fu Baoer implicitly.
Zhou Xueyan understood instantly that her daughter was trying to help her stop Fu Baoer.
She felt relieved, pinched her daughter and closed her eyes again, not knowing that Fu Baoer saw all of this.
