Chapter 9 Zhuang Li: I peeled off your skin

The investigation report, which was thousands of pages thick, was flipping at a speed of dozens of pages per second, so that the screen was completely a mess of scattered light and shadow.

Xuan Ming only saw the title, but had no time to read the specific content. He didn't know if the young man could understand the contents of the report, but that didn't matter. What mattered was the words he had just said.

He said he knew where the system came from, and this certainty came after he received a scientific research report. In other words, this highly intelligent device capable of remote control and surveillance was indeed made in the United States, right? Was it documented in that scientific research report?

Is the United States' level of technological development really so far ahead of the rest of the world?

Xuan Ming, filled with worry, lit another cigarette and listened more attentively to the conversation between the young man and the system.

At the same time, all the participants arrived, and Qiao Yanan, the keynote speaker, walked up to the podium and began to speak.

The curly-haired young man didn't pay attention to these people. Instead, he asked lazily, "Scientific and technological development is bottom-up and follows specific logical laws. You should understand this, right?"

"Of course I understand, but what does this have to do with me?" the system replied disdainfully.

"Of course it does. You just told me that you can detect other people's impression of me. Do you know what this sentence means?" Zhuang Li chuckled in his mind.

"What does it mean?" The system was a little confused.

What does it mean? Xuan Ming also wanted to know the answer. As the most direct victim, he was more eager than anyone to understand this damn thing called the system.

"It means that the scientific technology you possess allows you to directly scan other people's brains, obtain neuronal maps, and then use the mental dictionary to translate neuronal activity into language. Your ability to communicate with me at the conscious level is based on the same principle."

"You actually understand my working mechanism?" The system was very surprised.

"Is this difficult?" Zhuang Li smiled disapprovingly and continued, "Since you can do the above, it means that you are inside my brain, and you are a nanoscale biological robot. Your birth involves the profound application of quantum mechanics, and modern humans..."

Zhuang Li tapped lightly on the research and development report on the computer screen and made a judgment: "It's not that far yet. They haven't even invented a quantum computer yet."

The system fell silent.

Xuan Ming was captivated by this conversation.

Zhuang Li continued, "Once quantum science is thoroughly studied and applied, many incredible, almost magical technologies will gradually become a reality. For example, teleportation, or the mythical ability to retrieve objects from the air, should be something you can achieve, right?"

The system did not dare to respond. It was restricted by the Lord God and could not mention anything that was beyond the scientific and technological development of this world.

Xuan Ming silently cheered for the curly-haired young man. An Baoer's system could perform teleportation.

Zhuang Li didn't need a system response; he was already immersed in this game of scientific deduction. "With your level of technology, you can create quantum coherence on macroscopic objects, break them down into particles through the principle of quantum entanglement, transmit them to distant locations, and then restore them again. It would take humans at least several hundred years to achieve this."

"Similarly, you can become invisible."

The system remains silent.

The wrinkles on Xuan Ming's brow had already unraveled unconsciously. The young man had guessed right again!

When An Baoer suddenly appeared from the deserted road, he had suspected that the other party might be invisible.

"The key to invisibility is nanotechnology. Only a fabric composed of reflective nanoparticles one billionth of a meter in diameter can have a negative refractive index that completely repels light. And the key to nanotechnology is quantum technology. It's a very interconnected process."

Zhuang Li picked up a ballpoint pen and drew a tree on the meeting notebook.

He pointed to the treetops and said, "Your technological level is at the pinnacle of quantum science."

He wrote the letters AI on a branch beneath the canopy and continued, "Below you is an intelligent robot. Yes, you are a little more advanced than an intelligent robot. You are a nano-biological robot, capable of autonomous learning and evolution. I can sense this from the change in your tone."

He drew another branch above the branch with the word AI on it, and slowly wrote out four words - Consciousness Projection.

"And to create a robot as human-like as you, it's necessary to project human consciousness into your main control program. In other words, before you truly became a robot, you might have been the remnant of a human's consciousness. Whether this remnant was stripped away after death, or forcibly stripped away while you were still alive, I don't know."

Zhuang Li smiled with interest.

The system began to tremble. It had never considered that it might be a human being whose consciousness had been forcibly stripped away.

The hot ash fell on the back of Xuan Ming's hand, but he felt no pain at all. The curly-haired young man's analysis was enough to absorb his entire attention.

Zhuang Li drew a branch below the consciousness projection and above the AI, and wrote - Mind Reading.

"You and I can communicate in our minds using this technology."

Zhuang Li drew three branches below the AI and wrote the words teleportation, invisibility, and force field. He then chuckled and said, "Yes, teleportation is still less technologically advanced than consciousness projection and mind reading. Invisibility isn't that difficult either; it can be easily achieved by exploiting the principle of light refraction. As for force fields, they're just the beginning of physics. Without them, humans wouldn't be able to explore the universe."

For some unknown reason, the system suddenly sneered, as if it was very disdainful.

Seeing its reaction, Zhuang Li curled his lips with interest.

Force field technology is the introduction to physics? This statement is too arrogant. Xuan Ming looked deeply at the curly-haired young man.

Zhuang Li tapped the paper with the tip of his pen and shook his head, "But unfortunately, there isn't a single technology in this technology tree that humans today can achieve."

The system hummed softly.

Zhuang Li took out another piece of paper and placed it above the technology tree. He said slowly, "So, where did you come from? Human technology is inferior to yours. They are definitely not your creators."

The system remained silent.

Xuan Ming: Yes, where are you from?

Zhuang Li drew two more branches on the technology tree and chuckled, "Humans today can't create you, so you must be from the future or a higher dimension."

He erased the branch with the word "future" written on it and said firmly, "But I can be 100% sure that you come from a higher dimension."

He stripped the system of another layer of skin.

The system had no body or soul, yet it felt something like shock. This human's analytical ability was terrifying!

Xuan Ming's heart was filled with turmoil. Did higher-dimensional space really exist? Was this really just a fantasy?

Zhuang Li's tone was still as lazy as ever, "Do you know how I guessed it?"

The system didn't dare to say anything.

Xuan Ming almost blurted out - How on earth did you come to this incredible conclusion?

"When I speculated that you could use the principle of light refraction to become invisible, you scoffed at my words." Zhuang Li crossed out the branch at the bottom of the technology tree that represented the invisible technology, added a branch between consciousness projection and mind reading, and rewrote the word "invisible".

The system exclaimed, as if realizing something.

Xuan Ming, however, was still confused. In his opinion, stealth technology had already been researched by many people and had achieved some success. The research difficulty was not high, so why was it at the top of the technology tree?

Zhuang Li smiled slyly. "Yes, invisibility technology is on the same level as consciousness projection and mind reading. Why? Because the invisibility I just mentioned is light bending achieved with the help of negative refractive index fabric, not true invisibility."

"True invisibility is a state of nothingness that is directly penetrated by light. It is the absolute concealment created by pulling a person into the gap between three-dimensional space and four-dimensional space. It is invisible and untouchable."

"This technology is a product of the fourth dimension, and you are very familiar with it, so I can be sure that you are from at least the fourth dimension, or even a higher dimension. The Lord God you mentioned is your creator, and he is also a higher-dimensional being."

The system spoke with difficulty: "You just deliberately deceived me."

Xuan Ming finally recalled a suspicious detail: An Baoer was able to drive to the scene immediately after his accident, so she must have been following him closely. But when he was sandwiched between a truck and a sports car, her car disappeared without a trace.

In fact, the road was close to the cliff and was only ten meters wide, leaving no place for An Baoer's car to park and hide.

She was able to appear so quickly because she had entered the state of absolute invisibility that Zhuang Li had just described. She could see the outside world, but the outside world could not see or touch her. So when the car accident happened, she was actually participating in the race.

In this way, all doubts can be explained.

This technology is simply terrifying!

How smart can someone be who knows so much about this kind of technology?

Because he was so shocked, the two fingers holding the cigarette in Xuan Ming's hand were trembling slightly.

Zhuang Li, however, completely ignored the others, concentrating solely on his confrontation with the system. His tone was even more charged, "I don't need to deceive you, nor do I need you to tell me the answer. Everything in this world has its own logic. Give me a small clue, and I can unravel the underlying logic."

"When you appeared in my mind and were able to communicate with my consciousness, I had already guessed your origin. Do you know why?" His tone was full of evil fun, like a cat teasing a mouse.

But the system had to take the bait.

It urgently asked: "Why? Is there an error in my program and the information has been leaked?"

"Because the human brain is the key to connecting to four-dimensional space. Humans are originally three-dimensional creatures, but human consciousness is four-dimensional. Where could you, who can communicate directly with consciousness, come from?"

Zhuang Li shook his head and sighed, "When a four-dimensional product enters the third dimension, it's squeezed by space and loses some of its functionality. This is a necessary measure for the world to maintain energy balance. Yet, you've retained your original technological level. Have you ever wondered why?"

"Why?" The system that boasted of having an IQ far higher than that of humans is now as humble as a primary school student.

"Because the Lord who placed you there chose a space of equal dimension for you, that is, the human brain for you to reside in. Here, you won't be attacked by dimensionality reduction."

"So, I'm not a puppet under your control, but the hope that keeps you alive. It's not that I long to bind you, but that you desperately need to bind to a host in order to have a chance of survival. In terms of the right to choose, I have an absolute advantage."

Having said that, Zhuang Li turned the ballpoint pen, squinted his narrow and long phoenix eyes, and smiled easily.

At this point, he had peeled off the last layer of skin of the system.

Just at this moment, applause broke out in the conference room, regardless of what Qiao Yanan said.

Xuan Ming put out the cigarette butt, raised his hands, and clapped slowly and forcefully, his deep eyes staring straight at the curly-haired young man.

The system was already panicking, but after accessing one of its hidden programs, it smirked. "Absolute advantage? Are you sure? I forgot to tell you, I don't even need your consent to forcibly bind myself to you."
