Shen Yu frowned and pondered rapidly. The Empress wanted to kill Yideng, but Yideng was willing to die at the Empress's hands. Perhaps Yideng was only trying to protect the Duchess of the country and her two children.
She could only grant Yideng's wish, bowing her head and replying loudly, "Your Majesty, the corpse has five fingers on its left hand and five fingers on its right hand, for a total of ten fingers."
This was the first time Shen Yu had ever falsified information on such a serious matter as an autopsy. She walked out of Putuo Temple dejectedly, one step at a time.
"YuYu, is that person Master Yideng?"
Yanran rushed up and stopped her.
Just now, Yideng sent Yanran into the palace to deliver a letter to the Empress. After reading the letter, the Empress hurriedly brought Yanran to Putuo Temple.
When a fire broke out in Yideng's courtyard, Yanran suspected that it was the Empress's doing and was even more worried that Yideng would perish in the fire.

Yanran was secretly pleased. There was a hidden compartment in Yideng's room, so Yideng must have already escaped. So, Yanran smiled to herself, took Chenyu's arm, and walked briskly down the steps. "Yuyu, it's getting late, let's go back."
Inside the sedan chair, Chen Yu sat curled up, silent. Fortunately, the darkness of the night concealed the tears welling in her almond-shaped eyes.

Shen Yu didn't hear Yan Ran's words clearly; she simply wiped the tears from her cheeks.

Shen Yu hurriedly interrupted Yanran, her voice choked with emotion, and asked, "What did Master Yideng say to you?"
“Father said…this letter concerns the reputation of the Duke’s mansion. Once the Empress reads it, she will surely keep her promise for the sake of the Liu family’s honor.”
